  1. Ahh I feel ya all...My stomach is twisting and is in absolute knots before I check uscis...which has become a few times a day now!! Ahhh...just waiting in anticipation...such a nerve wracking feeling!

Good luck all, I really hope and pray that we are all approved within the next few days, Please G-d!!

  2. Hi all,

This may seem like a somewhat silly question- but I was just wondering..do you count your NOA1 date as the date posted on the uscis case status ie: "On November 16, 2006, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case...." etc etc or is your NOA1 the date that you receive NOA1 by snail mail??

Again, I know this may be silly- but just wanted to clear it up! Thanks!

  3. Hate to be the one to get involved, but Geez Piel! Ken_Maria was just trying to help and give you an answer that most people would be grateful for. This forum is so helpful and I am grateful to it for getting me through this process and helping me on my journey..You should be grateful too, grateful that you were listened to and that your question was answered by a helpful member, rather than snap and be ungrateful and unappreciative- try show a bit of gratitude, as well as respect!

  4. Hi All,

we're not near this stage yet..we haven't even received our NOA2, but I was just wondering if any of you out there could help me clarify something. I read on the guides page that one must "Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy"- call me silly, but I read somewhere else that we do not get our original petitions back, that we sent when we filed for the I-129F- so does this mean we need to gather the information again or if we have it saved just re-print/copy everything? If this could be cleared up for me, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks all!

  5. Dear G-d,Creator of all living things.

I stand here, humbly before you asking and pleading for direction from you. Please help our case to be speedily approved. Please speedily approve everyone elses cases and provide us all with strength to endure the waiting..

In asking for our needs to be met, I hand this over to You, and surrender this to You, knowing that You will help me with my best interests in mind.

Please, G-d, help me to immigrate to the U.S by May 2007 or sooner, and I will forever be grateful for all that you have provided for me in my life. I have everlasting and eternal faith in You, G-d. Please be open to my prayers and let our case and all others be heard efficiently, smoothly and SPEEDILY, so that the power of love can overcome all.

Please have compassion upon ALL of us..

Thank you for blessing and providing my family's lives, V's life and my life with everything you have blessed us and provided us with until now. I love you.

  6. WOW. Collegeboard, You literally took the words straight from my mouth. I think that pretty much summarizes so eloquently and accurately how we all feel...well, how I feel. It really frustrates me too...but as others have correctly pointed out- having VJ really is a blessing. Most other sites try to profit off giving immigration advice, whereas VJ is FOR the community BY the community.

I cannot understand what takes the CSC so long- yes, I know how many petitions they must be receiving everyday, and yes it is an arduous task, and yes, people do make errors when submitting their petitions- but I believe that the delays reflect on the incompetence of the people working there. I also feel like we're treated as cases and as numbers- not as people putting their lives on hold...waiting anxiously on edge..everyday.

Oh well..all we can do is keep our heads held up high, be strong, and ...wait!

  7. I just found out now that my case was at the NVC for 2 days! That sure was fast. I don't know if that is normal but I wanted to share. It took 12 days from my NOA2 to arrive at NVC but then it did not spend more than 48 hours there before it was forwarded to the embassy.

I had no luck talking to anyone at NVC until now - because it was 11:57 p.m. - but they answered by e-mail today (I sent one last week and then again this week).

    G'luck

Wow, that's amazing. Congrats! I wonder if they just want to get rid of everything they have as soon as possible, so that they can enjoy their Christmas holiday! :)

  8. Hi All,

Firstly, Congrats to all of you who have received your NOA2, I can imagine how you all must feel...I can't wait to experience that feeling for myself!

For those of us who are still waiting..I am just wondering if this time of year slows down a lot- with people working at the consulate going on vacation..and the offices being closed for the sesaonal period- do you think this delays us a lot? Logically, I think it would? Technically..most of late Septembers have been issued an NOA2...so if it slows down during this period..I wonder by how much??

    Any thoughts?

I know we can just speculate...but this waiting isn't the greatest feeling in the world :(

  9. I also wish you the best of luck. I understand how you feel- there isn't too much empathy out there..Our friends can sympathize..but no-one really understands what we're all going through. That's why I think VisaJourney is amazing..everyone is going through the same thing..we can all push eachother through this..it is so tough at times, but try keep your head up high, and as you said- focus of the fact that you will be together, and when that time comes, it will be forever. I am praying for each and every one of you on VisaJourney..that this process goes speedily for all of us!! Hang in there, and keep strong!

  10. Hi All,

I am hoping for a bit of clarification. What exactly does it mean when your case is "touched" - does it mean that it has just been looked at, and they're notifying you of that? We sent our I-129F in very recently, (November 13th)- we received our NOA1 on November 16th..and then on the USCIS website it says that it was last updated on November - does this mean that we were "touched" on this date? Also, I have heard that it helps to phone the USCIS and nag them about your case- I don't really see how this would help?? Any input on this?

    Thanks all!
