I am a July 2013 Filer, and my journey is finally complete
My process was pretty straightforward for my wife, but was a lot more complicated for my step-son. We obtained the visas in May of 2014, but we did not have the biological father's consent to travel (for my step-son). Through much drama, enduring, and lots and lots of praying, we finally obtained the consent from a judge just a few days before my step-son's visa expired. My wife had visited me in September just in case so she wouldn't lose her visa, but they both finally travelled on October 15th and are now home.
The only small problem we ran into was in Peru at the check-in counter. The American Airlines attendant was not aware that my wife could travel with just the visa stamp (since she has not yet received her green card). It took about 30 minutes but the attendant was able to confirm with some immigration office that my wife would be able to enter the US with just the stamp on her passport.
I want to thank everyone who has selflessly supported and continue to support each of us throughout this process.. I namely remember Saylin and NLR, and of course, all of my fellow July 2013 Filers. Without the VJ community, there would have been a lot more stress involved. Thanks everyone!!

I know I pop in randomly, but we got a CC yesterday! Last scan date was september 15th for AOS Checklist. Medical booked for November 12th and we are awaiting an interview date!

So it's finally official case complete as from October 14 . Wishing everyone else a more speedy CC

She's like that. She never gave me the right answer and always sounded so lost. It's funny how well we've come to know these reps and supervisors :rofl:

I received a checklist requesting an original marriage certificate, and of course, I already sent with my civil documents. I requested to speak with a supervisor and got Ike (what a jerk). I told him that I to speak with another supervisor because I refused to deal with his sarcasm and lack of compassion. I was transferred to Avery. She stated that she would look into my case. I also told her that I should not have to wait another 30 days because of NVC's mistake. This is unreal!!!

So sorry about that. Mine got sorted out in 3 business days. I hope the supervisor sort it out ASAP

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Only difference, supervisor Marie handled my case and fixed the issue for me in 5 business days....

Really supervisor Ike didn't help you? I had the same issue, they said my marriage certificate was a copy and then I spoke with Ike. Although he sounds like a robot and insisted they had a copy and not the original, I was adamant that I had sent in an original PLUS a copy! The signatures on my original certificate were in blue with a blue seal so I told him how could it be a copy. After 3 mins of discussion he said he would look into it and that he would call me back; which he never did. But I called back a day later and it was all fixed.
He sounds like a jerk but he really isn't. He helped me right away. I really hope and pray they accept your certificate.

They will get over it. They have to realize favor ain't fair. Oh well. Congratulations for you.

Just be patient! At least you are luckier than most of the people over here. I have been waiting for three years just to be with my husband and i saw some people that have been waiting for more than 10 years just to be with their partners too. You are so lucky that you can see your partner almost everyday. For me, i have to wait for at least 6months before i can meet my husband and spend thousand of dollars for our airfare,hotel, etc.

So sorry you have to spend your anniversary away from each other, praying for you that this will be the last one. You may not be together but your love has no borders and that my friend its pretty cool and unique. Remember God is never deaf to your prayers, never blind to your tears, he sees, he hears and he will deliver. We all have something that a lot of people want, we have hope, one day all this will be behind.
