No, certainly not jealous about CA’s economy. It is a good thing, but it certainly also has its flaws.
Did I say JEALOUS Mr. Literal? No, no I did not.
And of course it's a good thing, but clearly there is a need to to downplay it. If I still had to avoid the potholes on I-94 and shovel my car out of a snow bank, I might do it also

I mean, I've been affected by a black out that lasted more than 15 minutes maybe 3-4 times? Usually caused by nearby construction or a storm or something like that.
Point out something that really does impact your life in a meaningful way, like rush hour traffic going over the hill on the 405 but that's usually based on a decision you made yourself about where to live and work

I mean, if you're going to be partisan about every single thing ever, maybe try to be a little less transparent about it.
California is doing great.
But what about this thing they're not doing great at?
True, CA could do better. But they're doing great overall.
Yeah but CA is terrible because of this one thing.
Not all states are perfect, look at this other state that is doing well, also has problems, but is a state you identify with politically
La la la look at this problem CA has
It's almost like some are trying to deflect from the fact that California has a strong economy right now and that is not aligned with Tucker Carlson's talking points about how bad it supposedly is to live here.

Interesting. Maybe you are close friends with CF, who knows, but you certainly seem to know what people are thinking. Yes, I agree about Texas, too much reliance on intermittent power generation technology. I believe CA has similar issues with rolling black-outs, etc. with a similar mismanaged system.
I base it on what is written. I have no idea what the man (or woman, but I assume not) thinks. I haven't had a blackout in years and I've lived here for 16 - I don't live in a fire zone however.

OMG I love your signature -- but Devar should NOT be on that scale at all. At all!
You are right - Devar is too pure for this world (he should be on the list of 90 day fiances who look good in a tank top instead)
Since they are doing a 90 Day spin-off based on cooking they should have one called "work outs with devar" or similar - helping the couples get in shape for their weddings

I've been a member for a little over 10 years, I don't see much changes throughout my years here.
I don't think I've logged in here in longer than that time - the forums have a lot more categories which is the main difference

Who is saying CA is not an important agricultural state?
Your man CyberFX think agriculture is not an important part of the CA economy - apparently the state's wealth is all down to a few guys in tech and it's not even its biggest industry. CA provides more than half of the nation's fruits and veg

Kind of out-dated. Now if it was a Siberian Peoples Day for recognizing who discovered America (or more specifically the part of NA that became the US) first then it would be fine. If the folks in the Caribbean want to honor Columbus, fine.
Not really the point. It's meant to be funny.
1 minute ago, moxy said:The point that is being lost in all this "what about <nationality/race/whatever> day?" talk is that these are not valid comparisons in any way to Juneteenth. Juneteenth is a recognition of the end of slavery in this country. It recognizes the end of a terrible, inhuman practice that had pervaded our country since before its founding. Think less Columbus Day, and more Memorial Day.
Agree.
At the end of the day, another day off work

A television show?

I think drink was the reason why my kids were conceived.
lol - I suspect the birth rate would plummet if people stopped drinking

I think this has more to do with birth control and how expensive kids are to raise

Yes - the drought has ebbed and flowed since it was declared "over" a few years ago, primarily in localized ways - doesn't change the importance of agriculture to the economy of the state of the country, as the #1 agriculture producing state, per the USDA's data. I don't know why it's important to deny this fact.

Yep, all Mitch’s fault. I don’t seem to remember a Democrat controlled House in 2019 through 2021 passing this holiday.
Didn’t see, but Boiler did. mention someone upset about an interview being canceled at the last minute on Friday, so I expect there were complaints. Personally, I would not have minded the Congress eliminating Columbus Day as a Federal Holiday, and replace it with June 19th.

I thought the rat was kind of cute, and I normally hate pet rats
And agree about Angela - sometimes funny, mostly annoying
I think Jovi and Yara should get their own spin-off series, a la Darcey and Stacey
I actually fell asleep on my couch when they started the show with Mike and Natalie, so I'll have to re-watch for Jovi and Yara

I received a notification that Gary added me as a friend in 2012. I think I'd been off the site a few years at that point

I wasn't refuting the economy aspect at all, quite frankly I wasn't even responding to you. My comment is based off of that person's post saying "Dude, the drought is over"
since we are doing refutations get a load of this!

Which are the top 10 agricultural producing States?
In 2019, the top 10 agricultural producing States in terms of cash receipts were (in descending order): California, Iowa, Nebraska, Texas, Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Indiana. See these and related statistics in ERS's Farm Income and Wealth Statistics.

Agriculture? You know that they are suffering from a drought right now while sending millions of gallons of water out to sea right?
Dude, the drought is over
You are aware that this thing called wine is made from grapes? Apparently California is a big producer of it. There are also these agricultural products like citrus, strawberries, nuts, artichokes, etc etc etc. California does this without the largess of government subsidies given to Iowa corn fields producing ethanol for big business

There is a VERY weird dynamic between Mike and his mom. I don't care that he calls her Mommy, that's not abnormal in my experience. (My sister-in-law refers to her mother as "Mummy" so I do not judge.) But think about this -- Colteeeeeee and Debbie, who everyone has said have the biggest Oedipal relationship on 90DF, have an excuse to some extent. They only had each other for so long, he was homeschooled, he's lived at home most of his life, etc. Mike? He has no excuses for the mushiness of boundaries between him and his mother. The scene where Mike and Trish are basically attacking Natalie when she's still in the car is bizarre. I cannot imagine siding with my parent against my spouse. I have been on the receiving end of such a mother-son tag team of "what is wrong with you?" but at least my then-husband was more polite in siding with his mother in telling me I was an impossible human being!
Wow, I just realized I am triggered by Mike and Trish.
And yes, (pr)Ed is absolutely disgusting! There are petitions to get him off TLC permanently.
that part with the turkey sandwich........really? Mike gets closer and closer to Colteeeee for mommy issues with that exchange. Mike does seem more normal but for his horrible mom.....Colteeeee behaves like a serial killer
Edited to add - tonight appears to be a Jovi and Yara-centric episode, which I am here for

this thread is still going and I posted here 13 years ago!
I still use Xe.com and love it - easy to set up, good customer service and efficient way to send money to the UK. Just sent some last week!

I got an email telling me about all the content I was missing on VJ - haven't been here for years - this place is all different now and I don't even really need it any more, but it was fun back in the day
Any of the legacy members still here?
