if this is his reaction to someone moving next to him who he has never spoken to I'd say the new neighbor should be worried more than he should
-
sounds like a snowflake if he can't handle someone with different opinions living next to him

Before going the Ikea route I recommend having your contractor make suggestions on the best materials - haven't (yet) done redone my horrible 1940 kitchen, but other stuff like windows, electricity, plumbing I've been steered away from making bad decisions about what I thought I wanted

I am very reluctant to even tell people that I went to that school. The cover-up/head-in-the-sand mentality at MSU was inexcusable.
I went there too - I always felt like Dantonio and Izzo ran, for the most part, clean programs you could be proud of unlike Ohio State. So yeah, pretty disappointing....

people mentioned the parents - not 100% sure they were always in the room for his abuse - the real villains are the coaches and school officials who defended him. The gymnastics coach at MSU (a woman) asked the gymnasts there to send him cards when he was being investigated - what kind of messed up nonsense is that? And known child abusers the Karolyis knew what was happening. And don't get me started on US Gymnastics. All of them gaslit the girls who came forward - they are true heroes standing up

At the risk of straying too far off the thread topic, if the likes of MTG is at the forefront of Republican politics, then I assume you agree AOC and the Squad are at the forefront of Democrat politics as well?
In terms of the press they both get absolutely - in terms of actual influence in getting bills passed not so much. The most effective people in the house are leadership (well, maybe not Kevin McCarthy) and people who are not household names

Apparently Marjorie Taylor Greene attacked Caitlyn Jenner for being a trans woman, and therefore not appropriate to run as a Republican candidate.
well she did step up when few else would - when the recall fails I wonder what their next plan is for "owning the libs"?
I mean, if there isn't room for a sensible Republican in California (home of many sensible Republicans) these days where can you have them?

No kidding. My ex is very conservative but the money is here. Plenty of rich conservatives here, they just aren't great aren't great at winning elections.
Conservative candidates don't win elections in California because they run terrible candidates - I had to laugh when Joe Collins ran against Auntie Maxine and everyone except for those in the 43rd district swooned. You guys in Alabama and elsewhere realize this guy was in the Green Party when he ran last, right?
And Caitlyn Jenner to replace Gavin Newsom? I realize recreational weed is legal now in CA but please..........

I don't think anyone is saying WS is trying to move to FL. But some of the people who work there are. I know one person who used to work on WS, and as soon as his daughter is in college, he is leaving NJ for good. Not sure where yet, as his wife hates humidity, so the South is likely out of the equation for them. But he said somewhere that isn't so blue will be the main criteria. He's tired of it.
So what you are saying is that top executives aren't moving to FL? People who are burnt out? If someone is at the top of their game, they don't move somewhere less relevant because they don't like someone else's politics. Peter Thiel, for example, still resides in deepest blue California (though owning property in "blue" Miami) in spite of not agreeing with his neighbors because that is where the action is......most of America's GDP originates from blue states lead by California which is almost triple of Florida (#4, behind New York) and more than 70% higher than Texas
People who are smart about money don't decide where to live because they need their feelings validated by their neighbor's politics, they go where the money is...

The center of international finance isn't going to magically move to Florida overnight - yes, employees have more leverage to ask for such things during Covid, but anyone who is anyone in the world of banking and finance is going to need to be near Wall Street if they want to remain relevant. Maybe they move down to FL when they are burnt out and just want to be a mortgage broker because it's less stressful.
They have been trying to move the center of APAC finance from Hong Kong to Singapore for 25 years after the handover - it still hasn't happened even with the recent crackdowns

And so when I urge you and other conservatives to take back your party and to return to a place of sanity, I'm coming from a place of some experience. The Republican Party and the very notion of conservatism has lost their way, and while Trump and his fanbois are certainly the latest and greatest symptom of that decay into madness, Republicans gave up on leadership and ideas and focused on just winning at all costs decades ago.
sweet baby jesus this - more Adam Kinzingers, fewer MTGs, Boeberts and Cawthorns and Republicans could stop gerrymandering and voter suppressioning their way to power and actually win on ideas.
And please, maybe stop pretending women want to live in the 1950s and pretend you actually understand female anatomy before proposing bills that women with ectopic pregnancies are required to have them re-implanted in their womb

I don't think it's unreasonable to draw that conclusion to draw - are you seriously arguing that only the tech industry is creating wealth and jobs with 6 figure salaries? and only a few at the top are paying taxes that create our strong, sustainable economy? On what planet do mid-level employees earning $50k and up not contribute?
much of California has been out of a drought since 2019 and what you posted is a recent development from March of this year. You could also argue that the immigration policies of the last administration was equally detrimental to agriculture workers, limiting their wages and therefore the amount of tax they pay
We also send more money to the federal purse than we get back in federal money to the state while many red states are exactly the opposite. something that doesn't get mentioned too often when talking about land management
