Sounds like it. Ugh! But I'm glad to see you're still on here. You're a familiar face... voice. I often wonder how Gowan is faring. Remeber him? Anyway to answer your question, I've spent a total of about 9 weeks. (5 weeks and then I just returned recently from almost a month visit). So only 2 visits so far but not short ones. I plan on going again this winter and then also at the time of the interview if our finances act right. For a year he was living in Sokoto and I refused to go there and he couldn't get time off work. But he's back in Lagos now and I'm much more comfortable there. I've seen people on here who meet then two months later marry and visit just a week and get approved. And it's good for them, I'm not against them, but it was discouraging me, especially after our K1 denial, and especially after we took our time getting to know one another and not rushing into things.
I've heard that after a K1 denial that spousal visas are often approved... not always and not guaranteed, but that we have a good chance. I hope so.

My husband had his interview this morning. He called me at 9:20am his time and had already had his interview and was approved. Thank you again and again God. He said it lasted less than 10 minutes. We are so happy.
I want to ask some questions. I'm suppose to go online and pay an immigration fee and it asks for an A number. Should he have that now or does it come with the visa?
He's going to go to work where I work (after we take some time off to enjoy this and take it all in) so I want to know how soon he can work...like does he have to get a social security number first, or a green card, or something and does it take long?
And what is the unopened visa package that the immigration fee web site is talking about?
Anything we should know about entering the port of entry or anything he must have with him?
This site and many wise and terrific people here have helped us tremendously on this journey and I want to say I greatly appreciate you. Thank you so much. I'm sure we will still have more questions and hopefully will also be able to help others by answering some from our own experience.

I also want to tell you that returning home you must get to the airport very early. On my last visit my flight home was at about 10pm and I arrived there about 7pm. I was not allowed to go through the boarding process. Even after going upstairs and pleading with them. They said I should have been there at 5 pm. So I had to change my ticket and pay a cost difference and return the next day. So be there early and allow for the terrible traffic. Maybe no one else has experienced this but it happened to me. Have a ton of fun and take a bazillion photos.

Your situation really bothers me. I am so sick of people misusing their authority with no thought or care to how devastating it is for the people who have to suffer the consequences of the abuse of power or their carelessness. It's also a shame that this man will probably not be reprimanded. Please keep us informed of how this turns out for you. Yes, many of us can relate. Be strong and patient. Don't let immigrations suck the romance out of your relationship. There was a time during our K1 process (which was denied) that it seemed like all our conversations were about documents and forms and interview questions.... Here's some advice. I know you have to have conversations about the immigration process and forms, etc... but also make a point to have conversations and chats with a rule that talking about all that stuff is forbidden. Hang in there. Be patient. And best wishes.

Thank you Gowan. He said he was going straight to work and straight home when he gets there. He's traveling this weekend I do believe. . He was once in Sokoto for several months and that's how he stayed safe. He won't have time for clubbing... 12 hour days 6 days a week. Whew!
And congrats on lil Gowan!! I'm excited for the both of you...or should I say the three of you.

I don't know your financial situation or if he controls your money so I just want to say many counties have shelters for abused women and their children. You might want to look into it in case you need it in the future. Perhaps keep the phone numbers and addresses in your purse. Also there are free hotlines available to call and talk to someone about your situation. You could look them up. Don't let him beat down your self esteem. I hope the best for you.

Thanks. Won't be much sight seeing. We're both pretty broke. Last time I was there we just took walks, visited friends, cooked together and watched tv. Oh, and stayed up talking, talking, talking. A special evening out for us was walking around the corner for a beer or a soda. But when you're in love, even simple times are magical. Thanks again. Because they're crazy that's why. And because they don't have to give a reason why they don't think the relationship isn't bonafide (ex. Not enough face time, or lacked general knowledge of their fiancee/spouse, something like that).
