Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
I see Thanksgiving as one holiday that really is ment for the family to be together and not a religious associated holiday. I hope soon many of you whom are in the AP are able to join there significant other to enjoy the Holidays of Thanksgiving and if not that then the Blackfriday Sales that come to follow... as always i will be going to walmart not to shop but to observe the crazy people that come out and do some very strange things.

PuppyLove got a reaction from cathy2904 in Immigration harrasment and possible mistreatment
"Everybody does it" or "they're just doing their job" doesn't excuse being rude or intimidating while on the job. I've been harassed by CBP before and they even called to the UKBA to have them check up on me when I arrived in the UK. The UKBA man was extremely polite and calm in asking all the same questions I was asked in the US in a much more unpleasant manner. There is a huge difference between asking questions and doing your job in a professional way (like UKBA) and doing it in a scary, threatening, rude, or disrespectful way (as they do too often in the US). When I came back to the US from my vacation, I witnessed more officers barking at new Asian arrivals as if they were all idiots unable to follow simple instructions when not yelled at. How is it that they can do the same job in the UK in a polite and respectful manner and still get people to cooperate with them, but that its just "standard procedure" in the US to bark at people and make them feel afraid and why is it ever justifiable to treat people so poorly?
OP I understand exactly why your wife cried at such treatment. I cried too the first time it happened to me. Its not fun to be interrogated like you are a bad person or a criminal in the first place, but individual officers definitely can and do make it a lot more of a frightening experience. There is just no need for it. You can get the job done in a more pleasant way and get the exact same results as when you do it the scary and rude way. No American should be tolerating such behavior from government workers or excusing it in any way.

PuppyLove reacted to amarcho1 in my hhusband finally got his visa and will be coming soon
i would like to share some good news with people in this forum and at the same time give some advice to people that are still waiting.
our case took almost 4 years from our marriage to getting the visa. the i 130 was first returned to the uscis which sent us NOIR, then we sent more evidence but the uscis still denied the case because mainly i have not visited my husband. so we filed an appeal to the immigration court of appeal which advised the uscis to change its decision because it was baseless and dont have any reason to deny us.
then the USCIS REAFFIRMED the i 130 to and sent it to casablanca. my husband went for a second interview. the next day they called him and asked him to come over and pick his passport . at that time he was told that he needed a waiver. when i called the consulate they would not tell me anything except that the waiver is for misrepresentation. i came here to this forum and posted a post and almost everbody said to talk to your husband and he should khow. i talked to him so many time and he could not recollect any misrepresentation. the majority of people that responded to my post were saying that if the consulate says it is misrepresentation it is misrepresentation and you need to file asap. i could not accept it because it does not make sense so i kept e.mailing and calling the consulate to tell me exactly what is the misrepresentation. tell me what did my husband do that you classify as misrepresentation. ( just fyi it cost 4500 dollars to file for a misrepresentation) . i kept e.mailing and calling and finally they e.mailed me back saying that they are reviewing my husband's case and are in the process of fixing the problem. i sensed that they have no proof and that it was a mistake so i contacted my senator and a week later they called my husband and asked him to bring tax forms and the physical. 2 weeks later they called him and told him to come pick your VISA.
the bottom line is : 1. dont give up
    2. don't take any decision by the consulate for granted and ask questions and ask them for the reason why they made their decision. it is very likely that there is a mistakes somewhere.
    3. for people that respond to posts, be supportive and be openminded. nothing is set in stones and every situation is unique.

Sometimes when the USC is not present, the intending-immigrant is treated more rudely or disrespectfully. Your presence there makes it a LOT less likely that your love will be treated roughly.
