I tried to reach out and faxed and what not. The best way is paper trail. Send a tracked document. I learned this late after wasting so many weeks. 2 weeks into my tracked mail they updated the expiring soon status to AP

No glitch. It’s a known outage. If you are on Twitter, you can follow state.gov for updates. They have acknowledged the site is down. I checked the response the page gets when you click submit and it seems that the server it reaches out to is not responding. 

Yes after a year of AP others have had the same status.  Contact the embassy and let them know the status and the ds260 reopening.  Let them tell you if they need you to update it.  They will change the status back to AP.

I was just going to post the same! That’s the only reason I check this thread, to look for hope in anyone else’s good news.

The Isb embassy asked for my husband's medical and it took approximately 2 weeks for his visa to get issued. You can call NVC to confirm if the consular section received the medical. I called them and they told me the exact date embassy received the medical. They even have access to consular notes.

If you follow news, this could be the biggest hurdle coming if it goes into effect

Great for passport here is what I suggest. 
 
Load up a 10 dollar balance on Raza.com app and call the embassy from USA and wait for someone to answer. Best day to call is Mid week. After an hour hold or less someone will answer and as soon as they answer be very specific first. Say hello I am calling to get my passport returned as no one is responding to my email/query. If you start with hello I want to inquire about my case status, good luck... they will hang up or move you to automated vm immediately.

Take care of your health and stop stressing. stress doesn’t speed up cases. Your son will be with you when the time is right. My dad also suffered from heart attack because of stressing. Stressing won’t make a difference. It’s better to pray and be hopeful. God has a plan for everyone and let’s pray that all who are far are united with their loved ones soon.

Also for call use apps like Raza.com : a 10 usd expense will connect you to them. They don’t put you on hold for an hour. 

Use fax. They respond to fax inquiries in two weeks but make the fax a professional one with all the fancy headers subject attention yadda yadda 

The whole process I am sure has impact on everyone’s personal life for those who go thru it. I need my parents the most right now to get our and my parents living life style better as we are working parents and would love to have our kids grow up around them. And thAt is just the gist of it. I had to pause my masters and what not and having parents all depressed worries you and it’s hard to focus at times. I am sure every one here waiting for their love one goes thru the same pain or maybe even more. All we can do is have hope and stay positive. The wait will end one day I am sure and when it does for those that are waiting, they will be smiling.
