No, that won't work. The K-1 visa is for a single entry. There have been instances where K-1 holders have left and returned to the US but they were extreme emergencies and certainly never vacations. She really should join VJ. If this was her plan, she needs to be educated on the process.

... and then they still have your birth dates, current/previous address/es, full names, SOCIAL SECURITY AND ALIEN NUMBERS, and other solid information that may be used to create their own bank accounts online, apply for lines of credit... or just SELL IT...! hiding an acct. number ain't nothing. post man could just loose your card intentionally - put one through stress, more spending, SELL IT ... just what ever. listen you just got to trust in the the employees's integrity.

This is what makes me a very good colonial rebel, this is what makes me want to throw someones tea in a harbour, the fact that, back there in the UK, those in power with the money, influence and a good pension, dont care, they make rules that penalise the poorest or that ignore the fact we paid taxes, paid national insurance and the fact we are born and raised in the UK,and still have a Brit passport, they would be quick enough to tell us we have to respond to a call to military service and doour duty ?, but when it comes to bringing someone back that we are married to, and have made a genuine commitment to,its another matter, but setting the income so high to fullfill the visa requirements for a spouse when most people earn less than that in scotland, the north of england, wales and the north of ireland,is simply a scandal by a Tory Govt, but then again it was the Tories who were in power during the American revolution, what do we expect ??? ....they lost that issue too in the end !!

Hope all is better now. Does sound like you will have some problem with the green card and may need to go with the CR-1. I would have her talk with the embassy first.

Best of the rest ? Hahahahahah Yeah right ! Maybe if you are from albania or china yes it is better, I wouldnt say the USA is a better place than europe for a standard of living or happiness,no way ! the US is a country of extremes, huge riches and for others terrible poverty, europe has a better healthcare system by far, unless you are rich that is !!! I wouldnt say i felt more safe here either,in fact for the first time in my life im starting to notice neighbourhoods and whether they are good or bad or what ethnic people tend to live there, for the first time in my life im understanding why some have guns in their homes,i wouldnt say the constitution offers more protection either than anywhere else in europe, especially not better than Great Britain bearing in mind that the first 14 articles or so in the constitution are taken from English laws some of which go back to Magna Carta, and basically, its a British document with a few ammendments, and besides that, rights are often forgotten when stood on a kerbside with two cops regardless of whether you live in Chicago or Paris or London, maybe the cops in London would be more tolerant in fact !!!!

    Half wrong information!
The Supreme Court knocked down NYC's stop and frisk policy and requirement to carry ID but not stop and identify. Two times the Supreme Court has denied hearing cases for stop and identify. Federal district courts have ruled that identifying yourself is not unreasonable search and seizure. In NYC if you don't identify when asked your under arrest; simple as that.
Your all giving dangerous advice to newly arrived immigrants. Just produce your ID and be done. Why are you telling these people to escalate the situation when your immigration status could be on the line.

The way I see it, you acted suspicious with the whole "am I being detained" which was kind of a d1ckish move on your part IMO... Probaby set off alarm bells with the cops because generally only criminals or lawyers know these "rights" and technicalities by heart... Since you had nothing to hide, you could have easily shown them the ID to begin with and would have saved yourself the whole bridge rigmarole... Was it pissy of the cops, yes, but you did not help yourself too much by pulling lines from Law and Order either... Made them more suspicious than they were. Reverse it and think, what if there was a real criminal walk g the streets where you were and the cops did nothing to attempt to stop them?

Feeling safer? I have never felt 'unsafe' in the UK, or the US for that matter. That said - the violent crime in some of the cities I lived in/near in the USA was off the charts. Even so, I have never felt the need to own a firearm. Some people clearly do - it's a different state of mind.
Going O/T I'm going to ask - why do you have this fixation with me (across multiple threads) posting things about the UK (or even of posting from the UK)? You seem too have a hyper-inflated sense of your own importance - as if noone is allowed to post unless you personally approve.
Maybe if I find myself posting on a site you run, or if somehow you end up running the show on VJ at some point then I'll take note. Until then - maybe you ought to get over yourself.

The best way of reducing crime in Detroit surely is to make sure that there's jobs and investment. Telling people to carry guns to deter criminals is surely a step above outright lawlessness.

I'd imagine that you have more gun deaths in the us in a one year period than in pretty much any Western European nation.
The idea I'm trying to get across is this fixation people have with firearms isn't a healthy one.

Ask what you like, that isnt the point. More people have died at the barrel of a gun in the US, you can spin it however you want, although I very much doubt the US has fewer gun related murders.
I don't have any need for bumper stickers. I live in a safe town, have never been a victim of violence - gun related or otherwise. It's only in the US that people seem to see carrying a gun as being somehow essential to daily life. Its perverse.
Your gun culture kills thousands year on year.

Randomly I had a look on another site for the UK comparison. In 2011 there were apparently 146 guns deaths (including murders, suicides etc.).
    146 is a long way from 12,000...

My blood is boiled for the child. Grown adults engage in irresponsible activities and the children get all the fun (pun intended).
We have enough teenagers having kids in this country problem already. But they are TEENs, not mature adults, who are capable of planning in advance for the future.
Well, now we do know there are adults out there who behave like children as well.
And those adults have the nerve to come in here blaming the "sponsoring" petitioners for their current/existing problems.

I disagree. If she doesn't have the gun, she doesn't go back inside. This would be the smart move.
Instead, she has the gun, so she goes back inside and uses it. This is the stupid move.
The gun made her stupid. QED.
