The problem with casefiles at GUZ IV, for 'K-1 visa chasers' is to be able to figure out IF GUZ IV is going to use the electronic version of the casefile found in SAFEFILE (solely) or if they wish to wait on the paperfile version of the casefile that left NVC. You won't know which GUZ IV decided to use as 'the casefile' until you do some math on the dates; if the packet 3 is sent out within 2 weeks of leaving NVC, well, the SAFEFILE Gods have kissed you...
Good Luck !
So you're saying that if I call DoS sometime in the next week and they tell me that P3 has been sent out, GUZ IV is going the electronic route. Otherwise, it's the paper route. Either way, I can still have my fiance mail in the things needed for P3 once I've verified with DoS that P3 has been sent out, correct?

I just got off the phone with a somewhat rude lady from DoS. She confirmed for me that the consulate received the package from NVC today (11-23-2012), but when I asked her if P3 has been sent out, she told me that she didn't know. When I asked her how long it typically takes for P3 to be sent out or if her system shows when P3 is sent out, she advised for my fiance to just wait for P3 in the mail and hung up shortly afterwards.
Now I was originally planning on using the shortcut listed here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/GUZ_P3_Shortcut
I know that information does change overtime. Has anybody here used the shortcut recently and did it work? I'll probably call back again on Monday and hopefully get a better answer.

Congrats! Hopefully it won't be too long now.

To update, I resent another document outlining how we met worded differently from Question 18 (I already had typed out what led to our relationship on another page separate from question 18 on the 129f), some more pictures even though they weren't ingrained film dated, more copies of both intent to marry documents, visa stamp of my passport, boarding passes, as well as statements of purchases of the tickets. Basically more of the same that I had sent in the first place.
We've just now received our NOA2 on 11-2-2012

So we received our RFE in the mail today and they need proof that we've met in person in the last two years. What I originally submitted was my passport with stamps along with a boarding pass, a print out of the plane destination and schedule, 5 pictures of us together with dates and names written on the back, and an engagement ring receipt. I also provided a one page explanation of how we met.
Is there anything else I need to provide? I'm just not really sure what else to include in this RFE besides the things we've already submitted.

There are fees for the interview and for the medical exam that your fiance will have to pay. Not sure when or how much.
Have you been sending her any cash to cover this? Iv'e been using PAYPAL to do this.
If some of these fees can be done online I will pay for it, otherwise she has the funds to cover the fees. I'm going to assume the visa application fee is the interview fee. Does this need to be paid prior to when she mails back P3?

Hello, I've been reading topics and researching information for the past month about the K1 visa process on this site. There are a lot of information on the VJ site about the things that needs to be done and things that need to be sent in the 129f packet and so forth, but the process after NOA2 seems to vary in terms of region. I know that I haven't received NOA2 yet, but I just want to confirm the steps after I do. Never hurts to be a few steps ahead

1) After NOA is received, wait 15 business days and follow the steps here (Heed Post #7) to get a case number.
2) After case number is received, wait 3-5 business days and use above link to give the DOS a call and once you can confirm that P3 has been sent, fiancee can mail in the OF-169 signed and checked marked to the mailing address on top of the OF-169 form, along with the DS-230 (Part I only).
3) All the medical exam information and other forms that are needed will be in P4 once fiancee receives that.
I do have some other questions though.
- It says here that there needs to be a Visa Application Fee Information Sheet enclosed. What does that refer to? How much are the fees? When and where do you pay these fees? What does the NIV application fee receipt refer to?
Thanks for your time.

Tracking Visa After Interview
in China
Posted
Hello, my fiance got an approval on her interview for a K1 visa last Friday on 1/18. They told her that it will take 3-5 days to mail the visa with the passport to her, but I figure it could take up to 10 days. However, what's bothering me is that the tracking number they gave her doesn't really give out much info. In fact, it says that there's no such tracking number when I try to look it up here:
http://www.ems.com.cn/mailtracking/e_you_jian_cha_xun.html
I don't know much about how the tracking works in China but according to my fiance they don't even post the tracking info until they actually send it out. It's been a little bit over a week now so is something like this normal? The other thing that bothers me is the tracking number itself. According to the first link in Google, the tracking should end in "CN". My fiance gives me a tracking number of "ED172667851CW", which clearly doesn't end in CN. I've tried replacing the W with an N and still nothing. I've asked her to double check but she insists that is the tracking number. Am I missing something here or is it just not possible to track where the package is right now?
