sorry but that done cracked me up!!

Anyway, no one yet has answered my question about whether they feed their pets meat or not?
My cats eat fish/poultry flavored cat food and if you happen to be eating meat in the house and turn your back for 2 seconds, they'll eat that too
Oh and they try so hard to get at the fish in the aquarium too.
Thanks but I meant the vegetarians amongst us

Try this steak marinade it's just great and easy....marinade your meat fro 6-24 hours prior to cooking.
INGREDIENTS:
2 tablespoons raspberry jam
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
2 tablespoons malt vinegar
5 drops hot pepper sauce
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIRECTIONS:
In a saucepan over high heat, blend raspberry jam, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, malt vinegar, hot pepper sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce heat to low, and simmer 10 minutes, or until thickened.
Just don't tell anyone on the vegetarian thread lol

*nod*
which costs more: buying cheap meat, or not buying any meat at all?
I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you but until you convince absolutely everybody of that the bad (cheap) practices will continue I'm sure. Like I've said I'm not advocating the cruel treatment of livestock was just trying to put a possible 'reason' into the pot.
Meat can be part of a balanced diet (as can vegetarianism before everyone jumps me lol, although to get absolutely everything necessary you're buying heap loads of different veggies/grains too) and why should people not eat meat because they cant afford organic free range stuff? Maybe the farmers that employ such disgusting practices should think less of profits eh? Like that will happen!

ANYWHOOOOOOOOO....as a tree-hugging, bunny-lover I DO eat meat AND veggies.
frances
....
YAYYYYY for the tree huggers!
I tried to edit my last post....but it wouldn't let me so...
I DID want to add that it's not fair to say that only caring, compassionate people will choose not to eat meat. I think we all choose what's important to us...whether it be animal/wildlife conservation, not to be confused with animal rights, environmental concerns, helping children/elderly/homeless, or any host of charities. I accept that some folks would think I'm nutters for caring about trees and bunnies....but that's ok...I won't let it bother me.
I at least know the trees and bunnies like me!
hahahahaa
Ok, I'm a meat eater myself so I'll clarify that before I start.I thought the video was awful and I would sincerely hope that the majority of farms and farmers do not treat their livestock anywhere near like that and I'm pretty certain that nowadays they probably don't. I do think however, and this is a point that hasn't come up as yet, that if there are animals being kept in cramped conditions etc it all boils down to economics ie: the consumer wants meat as cheaply as possible ergo, the producers try to get as much out as quickly and cheaply (to them) as possible. I mean just look at the price difference between organic and non organic produce (meat or veggies), personally I would much prefer to eat a organic veggie but it is cost prohibative most of the time! Likewise for meat. I'm not saying that this is right but it is probably the facts of the matter, get the consumer to pay more and maybe just maybe, meat production would be less 'cruel'??? Unfortunately it ain't gonna happen.....people have to live within their means and that, for most families, means maybe not the cheapest stuff but definately not the most expensive, after all we all have to budget from time to time....sad but true!!
Now if you want to be a vegetarian kudos to you, I would ask you this though.....you have dogs....do you feed them meat????? Food for thought????
Sure, I totally understand your point....and I KNOW I spend more on my free-range and organic products...but for me, that's ok because I'm not spending the money elsewhere...like in a tank of gas. I understand peeps have to make their choices...it's not always cheap to eat the best. I don't think your post was directed at me and my more expensie choices, but just wanted to clarify again that we all make the choices that are the most important to us.
That's very true but sadly a lot of people can't afford to buy the best of anything let alone meat! Some people haven't got that choice even if they would want to make it. With one in ten people living below the poverty line you can see it's not always about choice!
Again, though, I'm not saying that it's right, but that's how it's gonna work, pack it in, keep it as cheaply as possible, kill it and pack it out....awful but probably true!

I say....education, education, education>>>>>knock on effects>>>>informed chioces and right decisions for individuals...surely no one can argue with that??????
I wouldn't be so sure! People can argue with anything!
I was going to say...there was a multiple page thread where that point was argued quite vehemently...albeit mainly as to who should be doing the educating (parents vs school).
Personally I don't care how a child gets the education, as long as it's age-appropriate, timely, and healthy.
*lives in a county with an extremely high teen pregnancy population*
Yep now there's a whole different kettle of fish of which I will keep my opinions to myself (for the moment)

Ain't that the truth

Well, personally I liked and agreed with the article, I think his comments about female sexual repression was right on and, after all, how could children as young as 6 really make this 'pledge' and know what they were saying/doing and what it really meant?

If only t'was that simple!! The benefits are exactly the same for both jobs, they're both for the same company (hey!! I'm being head hunted

Busy trying to work out what to do lol.......I hate big decisions

Yep, a job, well, in fact, I've been offered two jobs so now I'm in that whole 'list of pros and cons' mode and have to make a decision quickly but hey....I got a job either way!!!!!
At last the road back to normality!!!!

Interesting topic..... I'd have to agree with the fall of the Berlin Wall (and subsequent Pink Floyd concert
and Diana's death (not that I was a huge fan but it really was a shock), Live Aid in the 80s, of course 9/11 and for me the Dumblane shootings...I remember listening to it on the radio in the car....just shocking!

Wonderful photos and a beautiful wedding!
CONGRATULATIONS

Brilliant news! Tell us all about it, what did they ask you to do, how long did it take, etc. I want to know as I shall also be applying for my US license soon.
Well, actually all I had to do was drive around the block of the State Police HQ. All in all it took about 5 minutes, no left turns, no manoeuvres, that was it! I had to take a written test also, 30 days prior to being able to sit my practical.
I guess though the tests could well vary from State to State?? Good luck with yours!!!!
Congrats!Hey I thought of you last night...Eddie was on BBC America..
Good Stuff!
HaHa!! Yep....Dressed To Kill and they showed Circle too a few days later...blooming hilarious!!!!! Cake or Death??? Lol

Today was Stacy & Paul's Wedding day and they asked me to post a couple of pictures here on VJ for everyone.

Yep, on Friday I passed my driving test yay!!! Now I just need to venture out on my own and keep reciting in my head...."stay on the right hand side if the road"
