huongkhin got a reaction from Harpa Timsah in H1B holders, sign a petition on the White House website!!!
I don't think so. The number of H-1, L-1 and EB visas issued each year is ridiculous. Half of those are issued to Indian. In many cases, companies claimed that they couldn't find a guy to do the job here is totally BS. They rather bring the guy from India here than make their US HR work harder to find the right candidate.

Sounds like you need a "better" lawyer.

It will be extremely hard for your girl friend to convince the IO in Vietnam that your case is serious when you just met on a short trip to Vietnam.
Having to live and support a new immigrant is very hard. Think twice about it, especially you are fresh out of high school, have no job, no credit, a dependent of your parent.
Don't rush. How about get to know her more through Skype, phone calls, vacations,...? Love can wait, you know.

Only U.S. Citizen and U.S. National can bear a U.S. passport. The same rule apply to for all countries around the world. Even when your husband becomes a U.S. Citizen, he must use a U.S. passport to enter\leave the U.S. and use his Haitian passport to enter\leave Haiti. Some countries don't allow dual citizenship, so when you become a citizen of another country, your citizenship with the old country is automatically renounced.
Immigration is very sensitive about this matter. I think that is the fact that everyone must know. I'm surprise too that you and you husband didn't know that.

huongkhin got a reaction from del-2-5-2014 in Driving in California - A warning to all you non-resident newlyweds.
I was going to school in CA for a little less than 2 years and I was driving my dad's car when the CHP pulled me over and gave me 2 tickets. One for my GA plate and one for my GA driver license. $800 total.
I went to court. The CHP showed up. WTH! Patiently waited for my turn to speak and told the judge that I have no intent to become a CA resident because I was going to a private college. The car is owned by my dad and it's a loaner to me. Both case dismissed. The CHP wasted his morning for nothing.
Yeah, CHP officers wasted their time for that stuff while they didn't come when a guy with no insurance hit my car. If it was in GA, police would come right away.
