My husband passed and is now a US Citizen but I wanted to tell those who are still waiting that visa journey timeline was right on the money.

However, in August, we called USCIS and the representative gave us a bogus timeline.  In August, he told use we had 10 more months to go and the Baltimore office had no appointments available.  Two months after the call we got notice of my husband’s interview.

I learned later that Baltimore has a timely processing time and quick turnaround for oath ceremonies.  We had the oath ceremony 3 days after my husband’s interview.

Visa journey timeline is the best one to go by.  Good luck everyone.

Congratulations!!!  My husband passed this past Monday and had the oath ceremony 3 days later (yesterday).   He is an US Citizen. Baltimore, MD has regular scheduled ceremonies.  So happy to be through this process.

Wow...ignorance at large....there are fraudulent piranhas everywhere not just in Morocco and there are plenty of consulates that are not as abusive as Morocco but those piranhas are allowed to come to my country without being verbally abused or hassled like some Moroccan beneficiaries. It's an unfair process so to call people piranhas and exclude all the people from other countries who are gold diggers and marry men 20 and 30 years older and assume they are honest because they are approved, is stupid. If I'm emotional then you are stupid in your reply...better yet stay off my forum. And I am very aware they are not worrying about my feelings. That's obvious in how they treat people.

Your information is outdated. Yes they do interview people and interview them extensively. You can be prepared by reviewing the lists of questions that have been posted by others who have had more recent interviews. Thinking about a consulate "worrying about our feelings" is an immature overly emotional viewpoint that will not help you prepare. Their job is not to worry about your feelings but to detect fraudulent peririonera and stop them from entering the US. If you lived in Morocco and walked into Internet cafes on and saw young unemployed Moroccans trolling for ways to get out of their difficult circumstances, hopefully you would have a different perspective.

Sorry to hear about your husband's job pains. I'm sure it's a huge financial burden on you mentally. I don't think this is the time to be picky. Nowadays people aren't hiring people unless they have a job. There's actually a lawsuit pending on that very issue. I think the temp service is a great idea but whether he's never served a person or not he has a family to worry about and must do whatever it takes (legal of course). My father could fix anything had 2 degrees and was laid off his job. He ended up starting a yard business. This was in the 80's and he worked to build a clientele and him and my mom worked there butts off without ever complaining. And my father was not a yard guy at all. After a year his job relocated workers but my parents didn't give up and they definitely was not going to wait for someone to help them. They went out and made a business. After a year he was able to sale the business and make a profit and return to his old job.
Maybe your husband should look at opening his own business and becoming a consultant for an international company. Bringing together a company in his country with an American company and develop work. With an MBA it shouldn't take him anytime to write a business plan.
People have a huge misconception that America is the land of gold. People work hard in this country and even though we have a lot of wealth and glamour that all comes with a lot of work and consequences. So tell your husband to put on his big pants go out and get a paper route, Starbucks, McDonald's, etc. It's not permanent. He may find a management position with McDonald's, TacoBell, Burger King & Pizza Hut (And I know they are hiring managers). He needs the experience and could one day open his own store. The possibilities are endless but he can't go into thinking he deserve something. He has to work for it. That's the American way. Finding any job allows him to meet people and then it could lead to something else.
One more idea, go to meetup.com. They sometimes have business professional meetings in your area and this could be a network opportunity. He could also host his own and ask for other unemployed people to come together and discuss leads and support each other and come up with creative ways of finding work.
I hope this helps and good luck in your lives together.

GGG1975 got a reaction from Sayha or bust. in Why are the people here so RUDE??? :(
I think if you use a lawyer or not you shoudn't be judged for it. I think people are getting restless because I've read several post in the past couple of weeks and people have been so rude in their reply to information people provide or even statements people make. VJ has a lot of really good information and for me I love reading about everyone's experience and reading people's recommendations on services that may be available. It's up to me to call the attorney or paralegal or whoever and whatever else people advertise. I'm not sure why this is such a big deal. Yes, yes, I know it's against the rules, that's fine but getting boiled over it doesn't make sense to me but to each is own.
I thought VJ was suppose to be a supportive group not a judgemental group. We are all on the same course, trying to be reunited or permanently reunited with our love ones. As Rodney King once said, "Can't we all just get along?"
