Ademas puedes apoyar a ella.

My wife got her Birth Certificate in the town she was born in.
The police certicates you will get in Lima. The location of which is on the paperwork the Embassy sends you.

Since I have been through the POE Atlanta many many times I can specifically tell you that you won't have much of a problem. The flight attendants and Airline staff will direct you with what forms you need to fill out etc. You have a visa so you will just fill out the Custom Declaration form which is blue. You will not need to fill out the Visa Waiver form which is a white paper. On the blue form list any items you will be bringing in to the USA. This would be gifts and normally new things you are bringing in to the country--not your normal clothing and toiletries etc.
Once you get out of the plane you will be directed to the US Immigration check point. You will just follow everyone as everyone goes to the same place--it will be either to the right or to the left from your arrival gate as the check point is in the middle of the terminal and downstairs. So then you will have two lines one for Visitors (arriving in the USA for the first time) and US citizens. You will go to the line for Visitors. You give the Immigration person whatever the Embassy gave you in the sealed envelope, the blue paper (declaration form), and Your passport. They will do some stuff with it and then direct you to a green door at the end of the US immigration checkpoint. This is a small room and there will be immigration people in there that process your visa entry. They will take your finger prints and give you some paper work about your visa and tell you that you must get married within 90 days, etc. If you need a translator you can ask for one--but I am not sure if they have a Russian translator, there is a significant Russian community in Atlanta so the answer might be yes. Anyway it won't hurt to ask. But since you seem to be able to read English--then you won't have a real problem because everything they tell you in the Green Room is written on a piece of paper they give you anyway. You have to sign the paper acknowledging you understand the conditions of your visa.
So then once you are out of that room--which the time frame it takes to clear immigration depends on how many flights and other newly arriving immigrants there are--so you might slide through pretty quick--under 15 minutes or it could take longer if there is a line. You have your passport and the blue paper (customs declaration) returned to you with additional papers from the immigration officer about your visa.
Then when you finally clear immigration you will go downstairs again to Baggage Claim. There will be carrousel with the flight number you were on and the destination you arrived from and you will have these free baggage caddies to use to load up all your luggage. So you will collect your bags and then you must clear US Customs and the Agricultural inspection. The checkpoint for Customs is there in the baggage claim room. You just follow the line and give them that Blue Paper (customs declaration). At this point the US Customs official will ask you one or more questions and look at the blue paper he/she will then send you on your way to the exit or to another checkpoint for agricultural baggage inspection. Do not be alarmed if you are sent to extra inspection as this seems to be a pretty random process so you might have your baggage looked at more thoroughly but its not a problem if you don't have anything to hide.
Okay so when you clear US Custom and Agricultural inspection you will then go to the TSA Check point. You will recheck your baggage back into the baggage system, and there will be airport people there that will ask you if you have a connecting flight and they will take your baggage from you and put it through the TSA x-ray machines and then back into the baggage system, where your baggage will be sent to your next flight to Portland. Then you yourself will go through TSA screening, remember you cannot have any liquid so either dump it, drink it, or put it into your checked baggage before you go through the TSA screening. You will go through the metal detectors and have your shoes x-rayed and handbags etc. Then when you pass through TSA you will see a walk way and a train station. You can take the train to the correct concourse you need to go to in order to catch your flight. They are lettered. E, D, C, B, A, T. The concourse corresponds to your gate assignment for you flight from Atlanta to Portland. For example A20 would be concourse A gate 20. The train station is located below and in the middle of the gates, of which there are about 50 or so gates per concourse. If the gate assignment is not written on your ticket and so you do not know your gate assignment you can check the various computer/Television monitors for Flight Departures. Look for you flight number and Airline carrier name, and destination city on the monitors, and you should see the Gate assignment. You can also ask airline people if you see someone who works for your airline carrier what the gate will be if it is not written on your ticket.

As far as I am concerned the Iraqis got justice when they lynched 3 soldiers from this same unit that allegedly raped and murdered this girl and her family. So they should just transfer the unit out issue some summary court martials and be done with the matter.

22 August is a diversion, I think today was the actual day meant for the liquid terrorist attack!
8-20 or eight-two-zero as in aitch-two-oh or H2O or Water Bombs and Drowning passengers with Avian and Dasani.

So yeah there are events that happen then you see these things on the news some of them are amazing, bizarre, profound, or at times seemingly innocuous, but ah ha infamous etc. these events will eventually change your life or laws that affect you.
For example obviously 911 changed a lot of things in the USA. We now have lost many civil rights for the sake of security. And with each subsequent plot we are further losing our ability to live and work and assimilate freely in a supposedly free society. Shoe bomber made us have to disrobe at check points. Backpacks are now suspect on public transportation because of the London and Madrid attacks, and here we have an all out ban on Liquids because of the so-called Trans-Atlantic Liquid bomb plotters. With each plot or act of crime the criminals win--though they may die or be sent to prison--they have achieved and continue to achieve their goals--Americans will die with them--and the rest of us the living end up living in a Prison state under the auspices the Bush Doctrine and for the Sake of Homeland Security.
Now comes the Bonet-Ramsey murder confession and the biographical check of this guy Karr reveals that he had worked as a Substitute teacher in Alabama and in California. He was let go for odd behavior especially in regard to affection and child porno references and possession. So here comes the reaction to this revelation. Now keep in mind that the current system worked--when the school systems discovered this guy was into porno or otherwise acting like a pedophile he was dismissed. But politicians and school systems are debating should they require that all Substitute teachers be certified teachers. Okay from the outset this sounds like a good idea--but when you consider that most school systems pay substitutes about 15,000 per year (assuming a Substitute teacher worked all 180 days of the school year) without benefits, who would want to work as a substitute while a fully accredited teacher--nobody would. Furthermore there is not any evidence that a certified teacher is less likely to be a pedophile than a non-certified teacher. Also all states require background checks on all faculty including substitute teachers.

Yeah this story is pretty stupid as is that judge--I mean Lil Kim, Martha Stuart, Mel Gibson, Former Atlanta Mayor Campbell all did or will do more time in Jail for white collar crimes--and they didn't nearly kill anyone nor leave someone brain damaged or with a broken neck.
Stupid justice in this country.

Once I read Jaguars, I didn't read the rest of your story--Jacksonville, so what do you expect. Now had it been a college football game maybe it would have been different.

It's also nice not being the moderator because before I had to balance between participating in the discussions and keeping the peace.
Yay! Now you can say whatever you want!
Steven is a Stirrer! I guess he was tired of being balanced and "keeping the peace."

So you are saying that Jews, Arabs and Koreans purposefully sell bad meat, stale bread, and wilted vegetables--how could they be such successful business people if they purposefully sold inferior products. Well from where I live the Korean and Jewish markets are the places you go to get fresh food. I have not been to a Arab market yet--so I can't really speak about that.

. . . [Andrew] Young, a former congressman and U.N. ambassador, made in an interview with the Los Angeles Sentinel newspaper. The chairman of Working Families for Wal-Mart, he said he saw nothing wrong with the giant retailer running mom-and-pop stores out of urban neighborhoods.
"Those are the people who have been overcharging us, selling us stale bread and bad meat and wilted vegetables. ... I think they've ripped off our communities enough. First it was Jews, then it was Koreans and now it's Arabs; very few black people own these stores," Young was quoted as saying.
Young has apologized for his remarks, calling them "completely and utterly inappropriate," and resigned from his position with the Wal-Mart-funded, nonprofit group.
Its one thing when a drunk hollywood actor makes a stupid statement under police interrogation--but another thing when a Life-long politician, civil rights leader, and person of change makes worse comments while sober to the press during a scheduled interview.
What was Andy Young thinking? Or not thinking?

Justin,
Not.
- The travel expenses may or may not apply to many of us. Although I met my wife on the internet I had for several years been taking my vacations in her country - meeting her just changed the details of how I spent my vacations.
- My monthly expenses due to long-distance courting did not increase anywhere near as dramatically as indicated. Wise shopping can be applied to these items as well as to the local supermarket or mall.
- The marriage-related expenses are not immigration related - they apply whether one marries a USC or a foreigner.
Yodrak
Fiancé Visa – The Financials Exposed!....
Yodrak, while it is true that a lot of the expenses for Marriage-related expenses are not immigration related. There are extra expenses that do apply when one marries a foreigner. For example if the foreigner spouse does not have a command of the English language it can be hard for that person to find a job. A USC to USC marriage may not have this problem with language skills or lack of employment. Further a foreign spouse will have higher expenses because of international long distance rates, shipping rates, and travel expenses when visiting or talking with their family. Another expense is that many foreigners have a tendency to eat familiar foods and these native or cultural food items can be hard to come by and very expensive to buy in the USA.
While this article is not an exact case for everyone--I don't see how nearly all of you could vote missed the bus. The Poll choices might have been provided better selections--perhaps an Accurate or a Little Accurate instead of Very and Somewhat as these are pretty much synonymous answers.

If 39% of our country don't mind throwing out the constitutional rights of our fellow citizens, what's next? Internment? Indeed, why stop at Muslims? In this climate of fear, every outsider is seen as a potential threat. But who are the real Americans and who are the outsiders?
Like the remaining 61%, I will not sit quietly and let this infectious disease of fear and mistrust contaminate my soul or destroy my country.
Carolyn Zezima
100% of our country have lost our constitutional rights. Hating someone does not take away the hated groups rights. But when this government promotes "this climate of fear, every outsider is seen as a potential threat. But who are the real Americans and who are the outsiders?" Well thanks to President Bush and the Congress everyone is an outsider--we are all treated as potential threats--regardless of potential risk or background. Maybe it would be cheaper and more secure to put ankle monitoring GPS devices on every one living in the USA, regardless of immigration status, origin, sex, race, religion, or sexual orientation. And have everyone searched as they wake up in the morning--therefore clearing each and everyone as a safe and secure "real American." This tactic is already being done though in a much more clandestine way.
And the 61% who do not hate muslims--well they don't seem to be doing anything to turn the tide of mistrust and fear--indeed more than 61% seem to just go with the flow and accept whatever new law or presidental decree to fight the war on terrorism. Sitting quietly--allowing the infectious disease of government corruption to destroy our constitution and our country.

So this airport in West Virginia was shut down for 10 hours and several 100 people evacuated--and the question should not be how could this person make it to TSA with bottles of a liquid--the question should be why did it take the TSA 10 hours to determine that the liquid was just harmless cosmetics.
TSA is a joke.

Yeah so my wife is expecting our first baby next month, but that is not the issue--see baby corner thread in off-topic for baby stuff. Anyway we are excited and we went to a Baby Fest and Breast Feeding seminar at the near-by Babies R Us. And they had several exhibitors from organizations and hospitals, vendors, etc. Anyway this one table was the WIC people and they gave my wife a WIC brochure all in Spanish--which she was very excited as she does not speak fluently English yet--and we have been having money problems so we need help with making ends meat, etc. So then my wife said I want to apply for this!! And I said sorry honey but I signed an Affidavit of Support that states that you as a legally sponsored immigrant are not eligible for government assistance--and WIC is government assistance.
Anyway is that true, are we not eligible for WIC because of the Affidavit of support?

Embassy will accept the local police certificates, BUT you still need to get the National Certificates in LIMA, because they cover the whole country not just the local city that you live. And the Embassy wants a certificate that covers the whole country.

Since you are dealing with a Visa granted by the US Government on a K-1 Visa then you will not have any dealings with the Peruvian Consulate at all. It will be the US Consulate that will give you instructions of where to go and what to do and what documents to obtain. There are the given visa fees for the K-1 Visa, but then there are also other expenses. For example if you need to get copies of birth certificates, devorce decrees, death certificates, marriage licences of prior marriages, the police certificates, and immunization records and shots--these can add to the cost. There are some cost that are fixed while others depend. Don't forget you will need to get evidence of the relationship so you will need copies of photos, correspondence, etc. You will need to have passport style photos taken and this is an expense. Further the various sites such as medical exam office, police and judicial centers, and the US Embassy are spread out so you will have the expenses of taxi or bus. You might have the expense of using DHL, UPS, or FedEx etc.

I wash my hair when its dirty--for example after working in the yard on a hot day, playing sports, or in a dusty area. Tap water can deposit minerals on your hair--so using a conditioner could be more important depending on your specific water conditions. But for really good looking hair you should eat a well balanced diet full of the vitamins and minerals your skin and hair need.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed the lawsuit Wednesday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.
The lawsuit contends the owner of the Starlight Lounge failed to promote waitress Angela Harper to a cocktail server position because of race and religion.
Race and religious discrimination is a violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the EEOC said. The agency filed the lawsuit only after first attempting to reach a settlement with Morgan.
"It is disturbing to know that in today's workplace, there are still those employers who place more value on people's skin color or religion than in their capacity as loyal and hardworking employees," said Joan Ehrlich, district director of the EEOC in San Francisco.
Okay so let me get this straight--a black muslim and I assume US Citizen cannot get a job serving mixed alcoholic drinks and probably dressed in a Cocktail dress. (Which that word "cocktail" has a connotation all its own). Anyway so then doing an act that is contrary to her religious values she wants to seek damages from her employer for the Violation of her Civil Rights!
So who does this non-hot, non-white girl get to preserve her Civil Rights? The Federal Government!!! Oh my God! Who is the largest violator of Muslims, Foreigners, People of Color, and US Citizens who travel, have contact with people overseas, conduct financial transactions and commerce, or use the Internet, postal service, or telephone. Man Get a CLUE! IMBRA, Patriot Act, Wholesale treating of Americans like they are all Criminals in our nations airports, and Warrantless wiring taping of US Citizens by the NSA, oh wait no the owner of some whole in the wall culdesac in nowhere USA is a far bigger violator of the Civil Rights of the US Citizens, especially those of Minority status in race or religion. Give me a ###### break!

Canadian Muslim Doctor Escorted Off Airplane For Suspicious Praying
in Off Topic
Posted
CNN has been all over this story and the Holloway case--so I don't FOX has a lock on over-covering non-news news.
Where in the story posted or in the original link did it say the passenger complaining was a redneck? It only said the passenger that complained appeared drunk, not that he was drunk and that he had threatened the Doctor previously in the trip. For all we know this other passenger could have been Muslim also--might have even been one of his patients. If you don't want people to make snap judgements when they have their life in the balance on a airplane that is a target of Muslim terrorist--then do not snap to judgements about the religion, race, origin, or ethinicty of someone in a news story. Especially when the news story leaves out any clue about such characteristics of the parties involved.
