KazuriSana got a reaction from Mike E in N400 or N600? | IR2 - Stepchild of US Citizen, Absent for More than 6 Months
She got the first GC when she was just a kid I think 5 or 7 years old, long before father and stepmother divorced. I think she initially entered on a IR-2 then, which is why her current GC category shows IR-2. Will get some more info from both father and stepmom.

KazuriSana got a reaction from Cuong & Nguyen in Which is considered the marriage date?
    Sigh! What's going on here?

The USCIS-recognized marriage date is the date that you were legally married by a person authorized to conduct marriages!! The date shown on the marriage certificate. The date you say the chair of the city or president or whoever conducted the marriage and signed the certificate, THAT is the date you give USCIS! The license permit is simply booking an appointment to come in for a wedding/marriage to be conducted by a duly authorized person.

You can get the permit and never show up for the marriage ceremony. That does not make you married in USCIS's eyes. Date on the permit is not a marriage date. It is the date the PERMIT was issued. Permit does not equal certificate.

Why are you so eager to find someone who was denied entry while holding AP documents?

The AP allows someone to travel, and CBP are very familiar with it and what benefits accompany it.

Parole. Parole. parole. In that way.

Parole implies you have committed a crime or something, for which you are being paroled.

I guess the parole means you are pardoned after abandoning your AOS petition, which keeps it alive.

KazuriSana got a reaction from kassy in convicted person can receive a us visa?
Generally, he cannot get a Greencard if the criminal conviction was for one of the following:
aggravated felonies (Murder, Drug trafficking, Filing a false tax return, Sexual abuse of a minor (this includes, for example, consensual sex between a 21-year-old and a 17 year-old)) crimes involving “moral turpitude” (Murder, Rape, Fraud, Animal abuse or fighting) crimes involving illegal drugs However, sometimes it is possible to get a waiver of inadmissibility if one can show that their admission to the US would not endanger anyone, and that the U.S. citizen or green card holder spouse would experience “extreme hardship” if the applicant is not allowed to live in the United States.

I would worry a lot, not about the Yes or No, but about the emotional cuts of such incidents on the one that's on the receiving end. You are ok on the N400, but is your marriage ok?

If you have them printed, take them. It won't hurt, and saps just a little bit of energy to include them in your hand luggage.

Met first time in June and got into a relationship 😉 right away. And now planning a wedding all in under 3 months. That's a pretty quick courtship!

(Times have surely changed since I married my childhood sweetheart... and my second marriage was after nine years of courtship!)

You filed the I-130 just last week? It is now Tuesday, and PD is already current. Even if mail was delivered same day, this is like just five or so working days maximum! Things are moving that fast now at USCIS!?

KazuriSana got a reaction from Springrain22 in Filed I-485, I-785, etc.. when can my wife stop going to school?
They have already filed AOS while she is in the US. She does not have to leave, since she has a case pending. If she leaves,  she has abandoned the AOS. When she is in, even though her student visa may expire, she is somehow in legal status INSIDE THE US since she has already filed AOS.

Things however get complicated if her student visa expires and she exits the US before AP or GC.

In the absence of information and clarification, hearsay/gossip/mushene is permitted.

So let me provide some mushene: OP probably left wife and kids abroad in search of the holy grail aka GC. Got it and since he wasn't in it for matters of the heart, union that produced the little wallet plastic was soar. Now, since Papa is to become a USC, bro wants clean slate, to start over, so that he can also include the true soul mate and offspring in a fresh journey.

Above is hearsay, until OP clarifies.

USCIS will go by the date on the marriage certificate that you submit. Whether your celebratory dinner is the night before the wedding or a year after the wedding doesn't matter to them.

You already have the K-1 Visa and your fiancée is here. You can have a pre-wedding party to celebrate your forthcoming marriage. Nothing wrong with that and the photos that result from it.
