Asia reacted to smilingstone in Notice of Cancellation of Immigration Heraing
Refiling does not negate the unlawful stay accrued after the 90 days from entry, but it can be forgiven.
What date did she enter?
You married on June 6th 2024.
When did you file for AOS?
When was RFE dated?
What date did you respond to the RFE?
When was the denial notice dated?

I've been in Canada almost 3 weeks now. Taking care of my dad all because of two rounds of steroids for nerve pain. He went from being able do everything, walking and driving to Tim Hortons get his coffee and then drive to the park to watch the boats. To not getting out of bed for 3 days, couldn't stand on his own two feet for another 3 days. Then getting some strength back but barely. My sister has to work, she's been out of work for almost two years and was about to pay 150$ a day do have health care of some sort come by for 4 hours a day. So I flew to Traverse City and had her pick me up there. Prices are nuts flying to them. Saved 1k+ doing it this way.
Had a doctor's appointment Friday with a specialist because his doctor was thinking leukemia. Turns out every single thing is caused by the steroids. It seems when you're younger it's no big deal but at 82 it cause muscle wasting.
On top of all that my sister finds out he has COPD. I was like ya he's had it when they still had the house. So she calls the doctor and finds out he's had it since 2005. 20 freezing years and he still smoked. I made him stop when I got here. Since he can't run off to buy them it is the perfect time.
So anyways, I'm here trying to get him stronger, while also trying not to cause any flair ups with his COPD.

Tbone, I am exhausted simply reading this. It does affirm my decision years ago, to take every last article of my late husband's belonging to the hospice shop, to Habitat Restore, and to the local Vets association. All of it. One carload at a time. It's amazing what you can fit into the boot of a Toyota Matrix with the rear seats folded flat

It's a wonder I even found this thread. Apparently it's been a very long time since I was here. No point in trying to catch up, but I can let you know where I am at. I only hope someone remembers me, although I can't say I'd be surprised if not.
And I am still here, right where I was the last time I posted. VA appeal went from the Board of veterans appeals, to the Court of veterans appeals. The board agreed they messed up, and the case was sent back down to the board early this spring for a new decision. Back to standing in what seems to be a never ending queue. Been an interesting year, kinda sorta. DX'd last year with wet macular degeneration, so I get injections in my eye on average about every month and a half. Woke up the last week of January in a ridiculous amount of back pain. Couldn't think of a single thing I'd done to earn it, either. After a couple of weeks of waiting it out, gave in and saw the Doc. Had xrays, an MRI. I didn't have to do anything to earn it, other than getting older. I have a compression fracture and a couple of bulging discs. And osteoporosis. Can't get into a specialist for that until December. The referral to PT was sent, but never arrived, so didn't do the time allotted until June. I really don't think it made a blind bit of difference. Lost my little dog in May. She had a lot going on; Cushings, tracheal collapse, cognitive disorder, and others. We managed pretty well with meds, until she couldn't figure out the couple of steps at the back door, or the ramps I put in for her, where dinner was. Paced and wandered all night, just like people do when the sun goes down. Didn't seem to know me sometimes, just seemed to lose interest in everything. So, in spite of knowing I would miss her greatly here on my own, I made the decision to do the right thing by her, and call it a day. A month short of seventeen she was. I saved a couple of her things, and the rest went to a local animal shelter. So, I am free as a bird. I have been away on a couple of short weekend trips. Next month I am hitting the road for a month. Driving to Vancouver BC to visit with my son. Have a poke around here and there. In October, I am off to London. There is a little group I went to Uni with still among the quick(ish), so we will have a small 50th reunion. I want to see the commemorative poppy display at the Tower of London before it ends in November. I am working under the assumption that I'd better do things whilst I am able. After that, it's anyone's guess -

I will always remember this guy in the waiting area when I did my colonoscopy. The nurse asked him how the prep went, and he said "Fine I guess. was something supposed to happen?" Alarmed, the nurse asked him if he had actually gone. "No.. was I supposed to?"
Turns out his wife had given him a cough medicine cup filled with the solution 2x and expect that to do something. He had no idea, he never read the instructions, nor did she apparently. My doctor was so amused, but of course had to cancel his procedure for the day.

Well, as a matter of fact, they will be doing BOTH an endoscopy and colonoscopy for me. I'm just requesting they do the endoscopy first....

Interesting side note about color blindness. I was on training for work for 3 months. One of my classmates, a chemical engineer by training, was color blind. We looked at a lot of well logs which are essentially a lot of squiggly lines of various colors plotted on grids, which tell us about the subsurface. Anyway, I'd lean over and tell him which was red and which was magenta - 2 commonly used colors but impossible for him to distinguish without assistance. One of our other classmates asked "why do you always tell him which curve is which?". My friend said "because I'm colorblind.". Our classmate was befuddled and replied "well...what color is grass to you, then?" 🤦♀️ My friend was like "uhhh...I don't know what green looks like but to me, grass is orange I guess."
This person was worried about what color grass was to a red-green colorblind person, meanwhile my concern was how in the heck did a chemical engineer complete titrations where you have to note the most subtle of color changes, especially with things like potassium permanganate in fluid, which, is pink and one he couldn't detect. Anyway...
I know this whole process has been a bit painful for you, but, take solace in knowing Mama T-B was at least given some control over the process. My grandfather passed away a couple of years ago and his wish was to ensure my grandmother was moved from the apartment they had been in because it was unhealthy. OK, fine, my mom and 2 out of the 3 of her brothers would honor that. However, my one uncle and his wife basically packed everything up and moved it without Ma because she was at the hospital with my granddad. Ma was pretty distraught after Pops passed because she didn't get to move her way and didn't get to choose what got moved when and where and in her mind, a piece of my granddad was at the old place. She was never given the opportunity to come to terms with any of it and felt bullied.
At least you are affording Mama T-B some choice and dignity. It's physically tough and mentally challenging, but you will sleep better (with the help of HSM) after it's all over, knowing you were able to give her that much.

My rant for today:
Went to my favorite store for weekly Friday restocking. Got there just a couple of minutes after opening. When I got to the checkout which was less than 1 hour after opening, there was a line of people waiting to checkout. WHY? Why can't those people stay home until I am finished?
Maybe we need more people like TBone.... Oh lord, did I really say that?
Can't wait to see how this gets edited and used against me.

TB: One thing I always made a point to do was promise my grandfather that I'd find out where he came from. Though he passed well before I had the answers, I stuck with it and now mapped everything out. Then I did the same thing for my husband. Maybe in sitting and listening to stories of the past from your mom, you could document stuff and write it all down. Later on, photos and keepsakes could be added to it. Your son might appreciate it some day. The memorabilia you find is a part of your family history, and it's some of the most precious stuff you have. Memories are irreplaceable keepsakes.. after all. It's not as insignificant as it seems. It sounds like you have done a lot for your mom, more than others would ask of their kids. And yes... there are times we feel guilty that it's never enough, even though we bust our butts to do so and we wonder if that will be us in many more years. My sister often talks about how easy it will be to sort through all the clutter and mess my parents have accumulated when they pass... but I remember knowing how difficult it was when we had to do it for our grandparents. How upsetting it was to find certain family members had taken items without asking or not handled things with care. How they only cared about the monetary value. It sounds like you have a good handle on things and have an invested stake in ensuring it's done right. It can be very overwhelming of course, but keep at it.

Thrilling Tuesday report, see man:
Lunch at Mama T-B.'s old place was beef stroganoff over noodles + flat green beans + sugar-free strawberry ice cream, ingest we man.
We out-cleaned the #2 bathroom cabinets, out-clean we man.
We started on one shelf of the #2 closet, start we man.
We made great progress until finding a large box of family memorabilia, find we man.
One of the first fotos that we saw was of Mama T-B. when young, unsenior she man man.
She was beautiful, si man.
The other day, we gave her a hard time about owning so many purses & shoes, si man.
She said, "I used to get dressed up and go out with Papa T-B., see man," si man.
We had been approaching this out-cleaning job clinically, clinical we man.
We ignored occasional comments from Mama T-B. about "there goes my life," or they didn't register man.
The reason she carried all these things for so long is because they meant something to her, si man.
Now she's an old lady, unable to roll over in bed, praying to die, left with nothing but memories, si man.
We have been disrespecting that, self-disappointing we man man.
When we realized this, we stopped our purging process and couldn't start it again, si and no man.
We took a break and retrieved din-din, broken we man.
Din-din was carved ham, flat green beans (again), and mac/cheese, somehow ingest we man.
We still couldn't restart the process, no man.
We called Mama T-B. to check in on her, si man.
She had the usual garden-variety complaints about the Resisted Living, si man.
She asked how we were and what progress we'd made, si man.
We couldn't give more than a brief generic answer, up-choked we man.
We had promised Papa T-B. on his deathbed that we'd take care of Mama T-B., promise we man.
We haven't really done that, no man.
Wednesday is our birthday, and we conclude that Mama T-B. is our birthday present, si man.
But we won't be able to tell her that, surely up-choke or down-break we man.
We hope that we'll somehow keep our promise to vacate her old casa by month-end, so there's that man.
No party with the rubias tonight, forget it man.
Doc will shoot up our hip with meat-tenderizer Wednesday afternoon, finally relief man.
Mama T-B. will phone us at the exact minute of our birth, done it every year she man.
This will probably be the last time, hope we can maintain composure man.
And that was/is our thrilling Tuesday, report we man.

Did I mention we finally busted dad out of the old people's jail/nursing home? What a hellish place. It took some doing.. angry phone calls and everything, but we got his doctor to sign him out. Otherwise I think those people were content to keep him there for months laying in filth if they could. The wound is still not healed but supposedly enough time on the drugs had elapsed to clear whatever infections. He *says* he's going to follow doctor's instructions about getting up and moving this time... but he always *says* that. I've not yet seen any evidence of compliance.
Since things had settled a bit, after much pleading, I took my husband to see a GI specialist. He's been complaining for years about his stomach and putting it off because he's scared about family history. He's missed most of his competitive races this year because of it. And this is where I warn you men to please don't ever delay getting checked out, either scans or a colonoscopy. He's reached the point where the condition is really affecting him and the doctor explained that surgery could be a possibility based on what he finds.
The vet offered us another dog again. It kills me inside to say no.. but we just can't right now. Most of his stuff is still laying around and I've yet worked up the courage to pack it away. Every time I do, something comes up to take my attention away from it and so I take it as a sign that I'm just not ready yet.

Wife Offers Husband Compromise: If He Lets Her Get Chickens, She'll Let Him Do All The Work
SALT LAKE CITY, UT — Local woman Rachel Gentry told her husband she'd compromise on her proposal to get a coop full of chickens by letting him do all the work if he let her get the backyard poultry.
"Tell you what," Rachel told her husband, Greg. "If you let me get that chicken coop I've been wanting, I'll let you help out with the cleaning, the feeding, the rodent abatement. It's a great deal for you!"
Greg spent the better part of Wednesday afternoon trying to figure out if she was kidding or serious [...]

Thrilling (!!?) Friday-on-Saturday report, see man:
We awoke before the alarm, throw us out of the human race man.
We weighed Many.0 lbs, nearly setting all-time low adult weight man.
Breakfast (!) was 2 hard-boiled eggs, ingest we man.
We ordered Mama T-B. a Many-inch ([2x2x2x2x2 + 2x2x2x2 -2-1]-inch) TV from Worst Buy, order we man.
It was Many% -- si man, Many% -- off, financially savvy we man.
We tried to recruit Ecu handyman to wall-install it, couldn't do till Sunday Ecu he man man.
We were able to recruit kindly neighbor to help with TV, see below man.
We consummated a lucrative 2-year CD for Uncle T-B., different bank than previously attempted man.
We got/returned the Interest Payout form, monthly income for Uncle T-B. man.
Within 2 hours, it was processed/approved, pretty good for a busy bank man.
Mama T-B. called to say that 2 hours prior, she was supposed to have a bath in Many ([Manyzen - 2+2]) minutes, we man.
We called the off-site hospice coordinatrix, promise action she man.
Later, Mama T-B. called back, hysterical and in tears man.
Hospice crew had manhandled her during bath, hurting "good" shoulder and tender legs man.
We were about to go righteously aysheep, enraged we man.
Mama T-B. cried about these Many issues, see man:
-- nowhere to put her stuff, no storage and couldn't reach it anyway man
-- no one will bring her any cold water, repeated requests man
-- no railings or halos to hang on to, no way to adjust position or not fall out of bed man
-- no one to get her UP so she can try to do self-Fizzicle Therapy, no one man
-- no help to brush her teeth, unbrushed for Many (2x2x2 +1) days in hospital & Resisted Living (RL) man
-- the head nooser is a "snit," we've also met her and can see that evaluation man
-- no way to tell which "helpers" are Facility and which are Hospice, no man
-- employees can't speak understandable English, no man
We texted the Executive Director and told him that Mama T-B. was disconsolate to the max, si man.
We mentally planned to go out and bash some skulls, displeased we man.
Instead, we blew to Costco Business Center for Subway gift cards, financially savvy we man.
We stopped at one ES on the way back, weekly streak still somehow alive man.
Lunch was at Subway*, worst location ever man.
*WUOC + gift card, financially savvy we man
Only words from employees were "just a minute, si man... just a second, si man... just a minute, si man," si man.
They also had no water from the soda fountain, required we man to buy a drink man.
Were it worth it, we'd have called Corporate, that bad man.
Ex-Mrs.-T-B. called to say that she would take Mini-B. to basketball camp if we couldn't, issue perhaps resolved man.
Action was apparently taken at RL, si man.
ExDir gave Mama T-B. a giant TV atop an old dresser, that's one tangible thing man.
He personally got down on the floor to fix the cable box, si man.
We suspect that other issues were dealt with, too, suspect we man.
Mama T-B. said that he's a very kind dude, true and thank heaven for that, si man.
Stopped at Mama T-B.'s old crib for yet more items, pacify aysheep senior she man we man.
Talked with in-casa services coordinatrix, seize any chance of around-clock care man.
Rate was $Many/hour ($2 Manyzen + 2+2), comparable to other outfits man.
That would be nearly $Many,000/month, not sustainable man.
Went with coordinatrix to ExDir, caucus we and she and she man man.
ExDir could discount rate by only $1 or $2, no substantial savings man.
Coordinatrix will crunch numbers and get back with us Monday, pessimistic everybody man.
We called Mama T-B. to report these findings, agree she man that this isn't feasible man man.
Called neighbor to meet us at Worst Buy, call he man we man man.
Uneventfully got TV & mounting, successful we man.
Took very full T-B.-mobile very full of Mama T-B.'s requests while neighbor took TV, si man.
Neighbor assembled and programmed TV, first part easy second part not, si and no man.
Cute young non-rubia Business Managerette, working late, came to help, accommodating she man.
Managerette said that Mama T-B. can freely decorate the inside of her room, positive reassurance man.
Neighbor determined that a tilt mounting was needed, swap them on Saturday we man.
He will return to wall-mount new TV, kindly he man.
Neighbor highly supportive of Mama T-B., much-needed man.
Discussed furniture needs with Mama T-B., si man.
Mama T-B. concludes that only a laptop will suffice, abandon desktop she man.
More room measurements were taken, measure we man.
After he left, we offloaded all Many00 requested supplies, most acceptable to Mama T-B. man.
Mama T-B. still frustrated at no storage and having to keep all supplies in bag on bed, suboptimal man.
We promised sufficient storage, promise we man.
Din-din was Mama T-B.'s nearly untouched plate, ingest we man.
It was a nondescript hamburger steak, Many (2+2) French fries, corn goulash (?), and an unidentifiable cookie-type dessert, quite average at best man.
Returned to old casa for newly requested items plus more measurements, return we man.
We think that a favorite storage unit will fit in new casa, going to be tight if so man.
Returned to our casa and hungry miu after Many (2x2x2 +1) hours out man.
Din-dinned but otherwise ignored miu, exhausted we man.
We have optimistically itineraried Many (2+1) ESs in vicinity of Worst Buy, itinerary we man.
Were Saturday normal, we could have itineraried a solid one Manyzen ESs, oh well man.
We desperately need to oil-change the T-B.-mobile, becoming crucial man.
We also need to lawn-mow, Two Guys week approaching man.
No party with the rubias, becoming a distinct pattern man.
And that was/is our thrilling Friday, report we man.

Miu is trying to force you to slow down and take a minute for yourself. Miu recognizes that you're stressed out but sometimes just taking that time to just pet the kitteh is a great way to take a breath and remember Miu loves you unconditionally. Miu's demands are also much easier and more self satisfactory, too. Who doesn't love purrs from pets - easy demand to fulfill and you're unlikely to be told you're petting kitteh incorrectly. Thrilling ( ) Wednesday-on-Thursday report, see man:
We got to bed at Many (2+1) a.m., hallucinatory we man.
We forgot to mention that we found Many sheets of Subway coupons in Mama T-B.'s old casa's recycling bins, little crumb of happiness amidst all this man.
We awoke rather too early, alarm-clocked we man.
Stuff was rather quiet through noon, alert nevertheless we man.
The EJC texted to inquire about why we hadn't contacted her, interested EJC man.
We explained and she reacted with sympathy plus offer to help, si man.
We will keep her in mind to help box/pack when that time soon comes, good shared project man.
We filled out necessary Resisted Living (RL) admission forms, tedious man.
Lunch was onejar of gefilte fish*, ingest we man.
*the last of those bought on supermarket closeout, financially savvy we man
Mama T-B. & a hospice coordinatrix called separately to predict hospital discharge, call they man we man.
We got some bills paid, approaching deadlines man.
At half-past 1 p.m., we get the call that discharge would be at Many (2+1) p.m., gee thanks man.
We blew to RL place to dress Mama T-B.'s bed, blow we man.
Bed has no railings, how the dickens are infirm patients to pull themselves up man?
It was explained that the government considers them to be "restraints," disallowed in RL man.
We saw assigned room in daylight and knew that Mama T-B. would rightfully declare it depressing, yuck man.
We asked Executive Director of RL place to switch her to the rehabbed room that we'd first seen, accommodating he man.
In aysheep fashion, we blew down to the hospital, arrive just after Many (2+1) p.m. we man.
No one knew anything except hospice coordinatrix, ambulance late man..
Ambulance showed a bit after Many (2+2) p.m., show they man.
It was the same crew that had taken Mama T-B. to the hospital last week, good to see them again man.
We gained approval to go on ahead, head start we man.
Got to RL place and transferred stuff from first room to chosen room, transfer we man.
Began caucusing with RL Boss Nooser & hospice nooser, caucus we man.
Mama T-B. then arrived, exhausted senior she man man.
Many (2+2) staff visited with her while we continued caucusing with hospice nooser, parade of people man.
Hospice nooser then had a LONG caucus with Mama T-B., many questions senior she man man.
The RL noosers & hospice noosers will coordinate services, tandem noosers man.
The RL nooser will watch on Thursday to see if Mama T-B. can manage her own meds, $Many00 savings if so man.
It was therefore necessary that we retrieve all of Mama T-B.'s pills, retrieve this eve we man.
Was finally alone with Mama T-B., now after Many (2+2+2) p.m. man.
Mama T-B. had Many orders and tasks for us, tasked and ordered we man.
We didn't get out till past half-past Many (2+2+2+1) p.m., tasked we man.
Between RL & old casa was Subway**, ingest din-din we man.
**WUOC, financially savvy we man
Began searching for the Many00 requested items in old casa, search we man.
Mama T-B. phoned & directed us precisely to where things were, amazing man.
"In bathroom cabinet, lower left, second row, is ___, with ___ on top of it, si man" that detailed man.
"On shoe rack are 2 pants hanging, si man; bring the blue ones if "___" on the label, si man," wow man.
Of course, Mama T-B. added Many further requirements, required we man.
Everything filled a Many-gal. lawn/leaf bag, plus armload of hangared clothes man.
We got it to Mama T-B. a little after Many (2x2x2 +1) p.m., deliver we man.
Mama T-B. irritatedly told us where to put things, nowhere satisfactory man.
"I need STORAGE, si man! I want things OUT OF SIGHT, no see man!" kept explaining Mama T-B. man.
Mama T-B. then had us re-measure every wall, window, & opening, man.
She objected to placing a highly necessary Many-outlet ([2+2+2]-outlet) tap anywhere, "Ugly, si man!", si man.
She grudgingly accepted placing Many-outlet ([2+1]-outlet) taps, "They're ugly too, si man!", si man.
We were almost too exhausted to go aysheep, but not THAT exhausted man.
Mama T-B. objects to having ex-Mrs.-T-B. come to supervise decor/furniture placement, doesn't want anyone to see her Many00% infirm senior she man man.
However, we are Many00% clueless about that stuff, can't be of any help at all we man.
Mama T-B. is frustrated to not be able to reach anything on bedside rolling table, infirm senior she man.
She is completely aysheep about the lack of ability to HIDE stuff, must get furniture there PDQ man.
We got out at half-past Many (2x2x2 +2) p.m., too late to shop for small needs man.
Instead, we returned to old casa to do more measurements & pick up Manycans of food, most having "expired" Many (2+2+1) years ago but obviously still good at that youthful age man.
We were dead at our casa and had left no lights on, Many hours later than self-predicted we man.
Ravenous miu insisted on miu-lunch, understandable miu mindset man.
We almost immediately drank a full Many-oz. ([2x2x2x2x2 -2-2]-oz) Powerade Zero, parched we man.
We do not foresee a siesta in our foreseeable future, no zzz for we man man.
No party with the rubias probably ever again, no cavort we man.
And that was/is our thrilling ( ) Wednesday, report we man.
