    WIFE 56..IM 27 BUT GOT MY VISA..HURRAYYYYYYYYY

    WANT TO USE THIS PLATFORM TO THANK ALL VJ MEMBERS FOR HOW SUPPORTIVE THEY HAVE BEEN SINCE I CAME ON HERE..ITS NOT BEEN AN EASY TASK BUT HAPPY TO HAVE PULLED THROUGH..MY ENTIRE JOURNEY HAS BEEN A YEAR AND 4 MONTHS..WELL IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LESS IF WE HAD ALL DOCUMENTS..FIRST THANKS GOES TO THE MOST HIGH GOD AND THE SECONDLY GOES TO MY WIFE AND THIRDLY ALL YOU GUYS ON HERE

    WANT TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE ON WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY APRIL 10TH AND TODAY APRIL 11...

    MY APPOINTMENT WAS YESTERDAY APRIL 10 AND GOT TO THE EMBASSY AT 7.30..MY WIFE WAITED OUTSIDE TILL 8 WHEN SHE JOINED ME INSIDE

    SAT FOR 2 HOURS AND MY FINGER PRINTS WAS TAKEN AND THE WAITING STARTED..WAS LATER CALLED TO WINDOW 2 TO SUBMIT ALL MY DOCUMENTS...I HAD MY WESTERN UNION RECEIPTS,POST CARDS,FACEBOOK CHATS..SCREEN SHOT PICTURES OF OUR OVOO VIDEO CALL CHATS,WEDDING PICTURES,AND FEW PICTURES OF MY WIFE AND MY FAMILY HAVING A GOOD TIME AWAY ON A FRIENDS PARTY,ALSO HAD HER RECENT TAX PAPER..THAT'S ALL I SUBMIT..THE BLACK LADY TOOK IT AND WAS ASKED TO WAIT..WAITED FOR AN HOUR AND WAS CALLED TO WINDOW 3..THE CO WAS A LADY AND WAS SO NICE..RAISED MY RIGHT HAND AND TOOK THE OATH AND THIS ARE THE QUESTIONS SHE ASKED ME

    1.WHEN DID YOU MEET YOUR WIFE ?...APRIL 8,2011 I SAID

    2.WHERE DID YOU MEET HER ?...FACEBOOK

    3.HOW MANY TIMES HAS SHE BEEN TO GHANA ?..THIS IS HER THIRD TIME HERE IN GHANA I SAID

    4.WHAT WORK DOES SHE DO AND WHO DOES SHE WORK FOR ?..ANSWERED CORRECTLY

    5.HAVE YOU LIVED OUTSIDE GHANA BEFORE..SAID YES..I TRAVELED TO TOGO BEFORE

    6.FOR HOW LONG DID U STAY IN TOGO ? A WEEK MUM

    SHE KEPT TYPING AND TYPING AND TYPING..SHE SAID..IM OK WITH YOUR RELATIONSHIP AND EVERYTHING IS OK BUT YOU NEED TO SUBMIT YOUR W-2S FORMS OR IRS TRANSCRIPT..SHE GAVE ME THE WEBSITE TO GET THAT INFORMATION..SHE SAID THAT IS TO SUPPORT MY TAX PAPER..JUST IN A SECOND MY WIFE WALKED TO US AND SHE SMILED TO MY WIFE AND SAID..MUM ARE YOU THE PETITIONER ?..SHE SAID YES WITH A SMILE..THE CO LADY SAID..CAN YOU GET A SEAT PLEASE..YOUR HUSBAND IS OK..

    SHE GAVE ME A WHITE PAPER UNDERLYING WHAT DOCUMENTS TO BRING TODAY THAT IS APRIL 11..I SAID THANK YOU MUM

    .GOT TO THE EMBASSY TODAY SO RELAXED AND WITH HOPE THAT IM GETTING MY VISA..SUBMITTED THE PAPER SHE GAVE ME AND JUST IN 20 MINS MY NAME WAS MENTIONED WITH THIS FILIPINO CO..SHE ASKED IF I HAVE THE DOCUMENTS ..I SAID YES AND GAVE IT TO HER..SHE WATCHED THROUGH AND KEPT TYPING..SHE LATER ASKED ME TO EXCUSE HER FOR A MIN..SHE KEPT 5 MINS INSIDE AND CAME BACK WITH A MY ORIGINALS PAPERS..SHE SAID..CONGRATULATIONS SIR..YOUR VISA IS APPROVED AND U CAN COME PICK IT UP ON TUESDAY AT 2.00PM..DON'T SELL ANY PROPERTY OR BUY ANY TICKETS UNTIL YOU HAVE YOU DOCUMENTS..SHE HANDLED ME A BLUE LIGHT PAPER...THIS IS HOW FAR MY INTERVIEW WENT IF YOU READING THIS..

    MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO ARE SO WORRIED ABOUT THEIR AGE..PLEASE STOP THE WORRY AND STARTING PILING IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS THAT WILL SHUT THEM UP..AGE IS JUST A NUMBER AND THERE IS NO COUNTRY LIKE HIGH RISK..MY WIFE IS 56 AND IM JUST 27

    WE WERE NOT DENIED..INSTANT APPROVAL..GOD HAS BEEN GOOD TO ME AND MY WIFE.IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS..YOU CAN PM ME AND WILL BE SO GLAD TO HELP YOU..I CAN SEND U A COPY OF HOW I WENT WITH MY DOCUMENTS..THE WAY I COMPILED MY EVIDENCE..IT WAS NOT SO MUCH DOCUMENTS OR PAPERS..ALL IT TOOK WAS MY CONFIDENCE..LAX IN A MONTH..THANK YOU GOD.THANK YOU FRIENDS..

    Am so so happy for you. Your case confirms my strong conviction which i have always held that the Ghana Consulate isnt a difficult one. You are now Yankee bound. Glory be to God!!!

    I just had my interview yesterday and my fiancée I are both happy that I was approve so I want to thank you visa journey for the information that I read here and all the posts from you guys ... For those who will be having their interview soon make sure that all your papers are prepared and ladies do not forget cenomar cuz there's a lady that I talked to yesterday she didn't have it....

    My son's visa application expires in November 2014, what should I do?

    Hi everyone! Here's my concern. My son is included in the K1 petition but he did not apply and travel the same time as I did (i came to the US last December 2013). The Filipino consul who interviewed me told me that his visa application is valid until November this year. And now, I'm planning to get him before his visa app expires. 1) Does it mean he only needs to finish the medical and interview part before his visa application expires? But does not necessarily mean he needs to come out here before November (cause the visa is valid for 6months). 2) I already filed for AOS last February but did not include him since he's not physically here yet, how should I file for his AOS once he gets here? 3) If he doesn't come out here by November, will he have a hard time getting another visa when I file him on a different category? That's all. Thank you!

    The November deadline doesn't mean he must be in the US by then. You are expected to activate his immigration process before the November deadline. Once he wasn't physically present you did the right thing by now adding him to your AOS petition but once he arrives in the States, he must also filed for AOS.

    If you are not able to activate his immigration process by the November deadline, all hope wouldn't be lost then. You can always file for Form I-130(Petition for Alien Relative) for him.

    Adjustment of Status for K-1 Visa

    Hello everyone,

    I am helping out a friend with his spouse's K-1 adjustment for Status, and I completely forgot whether when doing the adjustment of status, does he need to send marriage proof (like photos, etc.) along with that packet? Or just send whatever the guide on this site says? I did this a few years ago for my husband but I went blank and cannot remember :(

    The only document to show proof of marriage is the marriage certificate along with the AOS papers. No photos required. Wishing you the very best of luck

    Is it possible to be unaware of you interview date?

    The embassy received the petition on March 7th, The Call in Letter was mailed out March 26th (still haven't received it, will be checking PO Box again this Tuesday) and there's a recent CEAC status update for March 31st? Is it possible that the March 31st update might be an interview scheduled for next week and we don't know about it? I emailed the embassy on Tuesday asking this question and this was the response:

    So in response to this email we assumed that we needed both the call in letter and a copy of the embassy email to pick up the appointment package. In the event that we don't receive a call in letter before Wednesday can she go to the embassy with just the embassy email? Does the Call In Letter have the interview date on it? I just want to confirm that there's no interview scheduled for next week or before she's able to pick up the interview package. I'm actually hoping she has a couple weeks of breathing room to get her medical, police reports & DS-160 complete

    before interview. Thank's everyone for you help, it always greatly appreciated.

    'Welcome to America' letter received yesterday!

    Dear Friends!

    I just want to share the news that I received my 'Welcome to America' letter yesterday. And that they will mail my Green Card in 30 days.

    This was my timeline:

    • 15 Nov 2013 USCIS received my AOS application and called this day my filing date
    • 11 Dec I drove to Louisville, KY to have my biometrics done
    • 24 Jan 2014 I receive my EAD and AP card in the mail
    • 28 Feb I receive my Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case. The letter also said that
    they anticipate a 6-month delay in processing my green card
    • 24 Mar I receive my 'Welcome to America' letter saying that my green card will arrive in 30 days!
    I thank God for this approval and I thank Him for sending me people/websites/information on how to go about this process.

    Well said. In my first response I posted the same 550 cedis. Obviously one should always have more than necessary in any transactions. Wish you well
