Did he give the facility a copy of his visa appointment letter? If he did, then his medicals should be ready for him to pick up prior to his interview. He must remind them of his visa interview date so that if his shots can be done quickly, its done on time.Hello again, I hope everyone is having a wonderful day so far ... Just trying to put my nerves on ease .... My husband went for his medical exam on the 22nd of April.. His interview is on the 6th.. He went and was told that he has to come back for his last shot on the 22nd of May. They didnt give him his medical package. Does anyone knows if the Ghana Medical Center (he went to Akai, sorry if i spelled it wrong) sends the packet to the Consulate or is it still incomplete? I just want to make sure he will still be able to go the interview since he isnt able to get the last shot til the 22nd??
Akai Clinic doesn't send medical reports directly to the Consulate. You go there personally to pick it up prior to your interview. I suggests he goes there as soon as possible to sort out his shots. No cause for alarm.

Thank you! Is the police cert the same way? Or can u get that earlier ?[/quote
It depends. U can go for it today and have it the next day. You would only have to pay extra than the normal fee. Once they give you the collection receipt and you ain't satisfied with the collection date, just tell them the date you want it

The first thing you are required of when you step into the medical facility is your Visa Appointment letter. At Akai Clinic near the US Consulate, where I had my medicals, that was the first thing I was asked together with other VJ member I met thereKayG how do you know you can't get medicals In Ghana until you pick up packet 3 ? Just Curious

From filing on Dec 22, 2012 up to present ( expecting EAD & GC soon), that's almost 16 months. The costs involved as follows:I am curious as to what the timeline is from filing for a K1 visa to getting an EAD, and finally a green card. What were the costs for everything? Thank you!
1. Filing fee: $340
2. Visa interview fee: $240
3. Medicals: $400
4. Airfare: $1,571
5. AOS+EAD+AP: $1,070
6. Miscellaneous: $180
My total expenditure thus far is = $3, 801

My fiancee (now wife) and I met once in our then 2 year relationship and she stayed just 6 days when she visited. It wasn't an issue and never came up during my interviewHello everyone,
I just got concerned lately about this.
I've been knowing and talking with my fiancee for like one year. We only met one time in person. Now we are preparing for the wedding and I am waiting for the interview date.
Anyone got approved even though you have only met once with your fiance(e)?
Any advice and recommendation or sharing experience?
Thanks and good luck for everyone.

Congratulations!!!!Our process started all the way back in September of last year and I had my visa approved on 1st of April and got it back on the 17th of April. Definitely a wonderful feeling after so much waiting and frustation

Congratulations!!!!Late post, I know...
Our appointment was for 7:00am and we got there around 6:30am. There were two lines that were the same lengths ( one was for visas and the other was for green cards, I think). We waited 15mins and were then let inside. We passed a security guard/ phone check, where you have to leave your phone with if you bring it; and then we went through metal detectors. We sat in the waiting room where a Haiti Messager attendant was directing people on which window to go to ( kinda reminded me of the DMV expect you don't have to take a number).
The 1st window we were sent to, after waiting 15mins, was a man asking us for more eevidence about our relationship; so we gave him more picuters and more call logs. He then told us to have a seat. 20mins later the HM attendant sent my fiance to another window where he had his fingerprints taken. About an hour later, we went up to the 3rd window for the actual interview.
We had a nice lady, she asked us 3 questions: How did we meet? How did he propose? What are the plans for the wedding? She spoke to my fiance in creole and to me in english. After a few mins she looked to him and said "Congratulations, I'm so happy for you two!"
She then told us that we could to the HM attendant by the exit and pay 15$ and have a pick up day for his passport. We did and on 4/16/2014 he got his passport! We were excited beyond words. We flew to JFK on 4/18/2014. It still feels surreal to me.
VJ had everything to do in helping us get this far and I very grateful to this site and to everyone who has been with us along for the ride. Thank you for your support! I pray all your journeys go as smoothly fellow VJers.

Congratulations!!!I had my interview 1st of April and I still can't believe how fast my interview was. As soon as I got in to the interview we greeted each other and he took my finger prints and then I took an oath. He asked me 2 questions and after that we started talking bout beer and that he visited my country before and how beautiful it is and that he loves the rum and we were there talking bout the different rums my country has and that he going to visit again. And then he said I was approved. Told me to go with my passport and to send it back with a prepaid airway bill. I think my case was a special case cause I been the the US at least 30 times from the time I been born and visited my fiancée 5 times out of that.

Am also tired of checking my status online all the time but nothing new. Nevertheless, am giving myself the next 3 weeks to at least have my EAD

Your Attorney is very right. Its a common thing here in the US having so many people with birth certs but without the father's info. The US Consulate where you would have your interview will understand.Hello All
While waiting for our I130 to be processed we decided to get working to accumulate our information for the NVC stage. One issue we knew about before but now need to address at this time is that my wife's birth certificate (beneficiary) only shows her mother. Her mother was unmarried at the time of pregnancy and her father was not there for the birth or subsequently thereafter. My wife has been able to obtain official copies without problems but per the government records no father is listed.
My wife is Dominican and this case will be processed through Santo Domingo.
The instructions for document submission at the NVC clearly indicate a birth certificate must show both parents. We spoke to a reputable attorney who has told us that this will not be an issue but I'm not sure he is correct. I'm wondering if we need to submit other supporting documents similar to what is required if a birth certificate cannot be produced (affidavit of family members, etc.) We are trying to prevent a delay in the process by including everything correct up front and not wait for an RFE or checklist.
Has anyone had experience with this? Ideas?
In all the paper work we have done so far up to my present journey, my wife's (USC) father info is not included and of course not on her birth cert too as well. Nothing to worry your head over.
Wishing you the very best in your journey. It is well

My wife used the amount on her tax transcriptHi Vjers,
Am about to file my AOS later today.. am still undecided on what to put under current annual income.. since i've done my 2013 taxes, do i put that amount as my annual income?? or the amount written on my employment letter as Base Annual Salary (not including differentials, etc).. But it's $25k less compared to my 2013 taxes annual income..
Thanks!

OP said the police cert expires in 3 months and the 3 months will be due before interview, so the husband of course needs a new one. Pls don't get her confused cos yours was 4 months due at the time of your interview which isn't applicable to hersNo I would not. My wife's police cert was four months due to expire at the time of interview and we had no problems.
Once its NOT expired no need.

Thank you for the responses! I noticed that in the instructions for the I134 it states that you must show sufficient income or financial resources. Sufficient incoming meaning being over the 125% poverty line( tax returns) I'm assuming? If that is the case am I still required to give banking info? Not familar with Tax Transcripts? Meaning like a 1040ez competed? Intern's of the W2's is a print out from an employer website sufficient? or is something more official required?
Not well abreast with the rest but per the Ghana Consulate and other Consulates in Africa that i know of, banking info is not necessary.
-
For a K1 Visa filer who meets the 125% requirement which form do I fill out? i134f or i864? Looking for some details in general regarding this.
For the K1 visa application, you submit the I-134 but if you are already in the US and filing for AOS, you submit 1-864

Hello guys, I believe everyone is doing great? So I have a very confusing question. I have already filed my tax return with my old company W-2. I say old because I stopped working there last month. I do have the letter of employment from them for the embassy & I have a pay check from January to February from them...Right now am working in a different company & I do have pay checks from them from March to present, but don't have tax returns from them since I just started working. What should I sent to my fiance back home? The old pay checks pulse the new one or just the old ones?? Or should I get the letter of employment from my new company? By the way I do have someone who has already filled out the affidavit of support for us....Thanks guys, please help.
Your situation is nothing to least worry of. At the end of the day, the Accra Consulate wouldn't even look at them. All these will be returned to your fiance when he submits his evidence either at Window 1, 2 or 3. These documents are importantly required when your fiance arrives in the States, you get married and you file for AOS.
The above notwithstanding, present what you have from your old employer and new employer as well. Wishing you the very best of luck.
Visa in hand after 2 days of interview, all thanks to goD :)
