That about sums it up.... Anyone have a number for VSC administration? I'd like to know what the problem is. Skip telling me to be patient and balh, blah, blah someone should at least have a reason and plan for the work.
Oh well, I'm extremely happy for those that got their NOA2!

I've watched my wife go through this. How much harder it would have been if we had to live in someone else's home, I just can't imagine it. They give up everything to be here. Their jobs, family, the land they know and understand, their life style, I mean really its darn near everything. Then they get here and what do they find? They don't know how to get around, they don't know where they are, they can't work, when they can they're starting off below were they were before. Their comfort foods are all gone. Their friends are too far away. Everyone is a stranger, even you as their spouse suddenly is different because now you're living together and they see all sides of you. They are totally dependent on one person, and yes, its easy for them resent that. Add in they can't even eat the healthy meals they're used to? Of course he's going crazy. Of course there's fighting. You are the one on the home ground. You're the one who needs to be bigger. The one who needs to ignore and let go of comments made out in anger or frustration. You expect them to be grateful for all you've done to help you two be together, and down inside there is a place they are. But its hidden under a thousand daily frustrations for them. You're never going to understand all of the frustrations and emotions they're going through, but it doesn't matter. Its now your job to sympathize with them, to give them every bit of strength you can, to ignore any bad actions until they slowly start to come back to themselves. Some people are stronger on both sides of this. Some of these long distance marriages fail because of these frustrations. Do you want your's to be one that works? Then give it everything you have. As they get over these emotions and frustrations, the support you give now is the thing they're going to remember, and its great training when later hard times hit you.

I can't believe what kind of replies are being posted in this thread. Congratulations? Really?
I'm sorry OP, but what you did was morally very wrong and you should feel guilty irrespective of the final outcome.
And NO. The fiance visa is NOT there for yanking someone out of their lives just to play with their hearts for 90 days and then go about "deciding" whether you want to go through with it or not. Genuine fiance visa candidates likely migrate to the US by completely burning their boats once ashore. They leave their jobs, their loved ones behind. Likely sell all of their property and even their homes when moving to the US. They do that in hopes of creating a new life with their significant others and not because they want to be told it just "doesn't feel right" three days later.
This isn't a child's game that you up and quit. Any reservations and doubts you have about your significant other, clear them out BEFORE starting the application process. Those 90 days are there so the couple has ample time to obtain a marriage license and easily complete the legal procedures required in order to obtain a marriage certificate. They are NOT there to play 20 questions and deciding whether or not you want to "go through with this."
The decision to "go through with it" was made the moment you filed that petition!

I'm glad you listened to your instincts and it turned out for the best, but why on earth are people getting engaged without already knowing, loving and trusting each other completely? Obviously you and your ex-fiance jumped into this process without understanding MARRIAGE was at the end of it. Crazyyy.

Actually the K-1 visa is not meant to be a 'get to know you' visa. You are already supposed to be in a solid relationship and know each other. You are supposed to be engaged and ready to get married, which is why you sign letters of intent to marry within 90 days of entering the US. The 90 days is given so you have a little time to get situated, plan together and get married.

If you sign up for case updates on the USCIS website, there is a "last updated" date assigned to your case. On VJ, it's called a "touch" ... someone picked your case up and did SOMETHING with it. However, you should know that these are completely meaningless. Sometimes things happen after a touch, sometimes they don't. Sometimes cases NEVER get touched or never get updated on the USCIS website.
So they're really nothing to pay too much attention to at all.

You could also do it the other way around to be absolutely safe (that's the way we are thinking about doing it). You file for the K1, once you get it, she goes to the US and gets married there as soon as she arrives (your family can be there), wait 3 months for AP after AOS and then fly back to Korea (Argentina in my case) where family and friends will be waiting for the big religious ceremony and party!
    Just an option.
    Good luck!

Oh man, I'm reading this and I'm shocked and saddened that its happening to you. My first instinct was to find out what the problem was and if he wants to work things out, but it seems like you've tried that already and he's expressed no interest in repairing things. He's just lost interest for whatever reason (mostly from this online chick) and from what you described, has no interest in trying to get back to where you were. He's done you wrong by cheating (emotionally or otherwise). He sounds like he's made up his mind about not wanting to love you anymore so why hasn't he cut ties already? The empty sex you described shouldn't have gone on long (and perhaps thats why he hasn't cut off yet). He gets to fulfill his desires with no effort on his part.
It saddens me to say this but it sounds like its over. He doesn't want you the way you want him. If he wants to meet up with this chick and exchange inappropriate messages, he shouldn't do it with you still part of his life. Confront him and just be ready to deal with what comes next. You're a smart woman, don't let this man or any other take advantage of you like this. If he can't love you the way you need to be loved, then he's not worth it.
I'm so upset about this now. Its taken me almost 30 minutes to figure what I want to say. Best of luck Saylin. You deserve so much better than this.
