ChileanBoy and I met through coworkers in 2007 when he was doing a student work and travel experience. After he returned to Chile, I followed him there a few months later and spent 3 months there. I then returned to MN to work and save up for another trip. This time we planned on him getting a tourist visa to come to the States. He was denied the visa so I packed up and moved to Chile in January of 2008. We wanted to get the K-1 Fiance visa, but I wasn't a permanent resident of Chile. We got married in Chile on September 2, 2008 to start getting my permanent residence. In 2009 we traveled to Minnesota for 3 months and after that decided that I would stay in Minnesota to work so we could rent our own house when I returned to Chile. I went back to Chile in January of 2010. I never got permanent residence because I traveled to the US too often. In December of 2011 we decided that I would go back to Minnesota to work and go back to college. So here I am. ChileanBoy is in Chile working and MnGirl is in MN working. Now we are starting the visa process. And I am so excited that we are finally at this point in our lives!
