You Will need your birth certificate, from the country you were born in. Not from any other country. All the other county's do not check where you were you born. They only are interested in there requirements for a passport. If you want to work, and and then retire in the US, and get social security. You best have a birth certificate. Otherwise you will not get social security. You can have all the passports, including from countries that sell passports.

When I applied for Retirement Social Security benefits in the US social security requested ny german birth certificate. I have lived in the US for 60 years, and have been a naturalized US citizen for 55 years. You better get you birth certificate, FROM THE COUNTRY YOU WERE BORN you will need it again.  Unless you were born in Britain.

I don't get it. USCIS has all the info needed, on there website. I guess many people can't read, or have no access to the internet. English is not my first langwitch. I had no trouble with my wifes papers. I also self presented in a court case, and won. READ READ READ fill out the forms and READ them over 10 times. Use visa journey.

Does your girlfriend not work? Are you able to stay in Cambodia after you stop working or do you need to leave the country July 1st?
K1s were low priority in 2021, so the fact you only applied in June when you knew your work contract would end June 31st means you probably don't qualify to expedite as you didn't apply for the benefit in a timely fashion.
If things stay as they are you'll hopefully receive your NOA2 in May and your girlfriend will be able to interview in August (as NOA2 to interview in Cambodia appears to be 3 months). A month separation isn't too terrible if you have to leave Cambodia July 1st. But, if you don't have to leave immediately I would just stay in the country and hope the girlfriend receives her visa after her interview.
If you think there is a possibility the visa could be denied, I would stay on with your school. The last two K1 Cambodia journeys I read about on this forum resulted in denials and both couples needed to get married and start over with the IR1/CR1 process.

Geeez sorry I did confused you with OP 🤦‍♀️
My point still stands, OP's job loss in Cambodia is not a reason for an expedite since he can go back to the States and work there.

Please devote some significant time to researching and becoming educated about this process.  You appear to have many gaps in your grasp of the basics of how US immigration works.

I know a case, where the K-1 Husband/Immigrant left and lived with another women. When he found out, he could not adjust, he begged to come back to her, and adjust together. She took him back, and he adjusted. He promptly left, the first wife, and went back to the second one. The son of the K-1 first wife wrote a letter to USCIS about the fraud he committed. Several years later this fraudster went to get his citizenships. It has been 4 years since he applied, he has heard nothing from them, in 4 years. I believe he will not get citizenship, because of the letter the women's son send. It must be laying on file with the citizenship application, and no action is being taken. At this point it has been 5 years since he applied, to become citizen. He is scared to ask or inquire about his citizenship application, thinking he may get in trouble for the past fraud he committed. Here is the best part. He was with this second women, together in Colombia, where they lived together. She also did a K-1 with someone else. This was the plan, she and he, both committed visa fraud, to get and live together in the US.

I can't see why they would waive the fee, to be honest. I know it was lost under very unfortunate/traumatic circumstances...but it was still lost for a reason outside of USCIS's responsibility.

I have absolutely no knowledge of when and why they do issue waivers, so this is just me guessing by the way - but they're not normally known for their compassion.

I know that wasn't the answer you were looking for - and 100%, definitely try - worst that can happen is they say no. I hope it goes well for you 🙏.

You married the Family. I moved to Colombia 3 years ago. We have a tiny little house. A few month ago we had 23 people here, sleeping on the floor. I feel they took me in as family, They have never taken advantage of me in any way. I always welcome them. I married the family, this is my family.

I don't blame her, she is smart, she knows if she keeps up her retirement/health insurance payment, it will cost her next to nothing, to have a baby in Colombia. My wife went back several times to Colombia, to have hand surgery done in Colombia, when she was a green card holder. Everyone is covered in Colombia. the medical and and big farma have brainwashed the American public into believing the US has the best health care system. yes the best, but not affordable to everyone. The politicians making the laws, have the best private health care in the world. When are people going to wake up, they are just scamming us.
