the i864, the i864W is for USC parents whose children will become USC after they enter the US and derive citizenship. stepparents cannot derive citizenship,
only biological or adopted children under 18 can derive citizenship from their USC parents.
What are the requirements to be considered a derivative of a petition? can you give an example. thnx

It took us about 7 months from NOA1 to NOA2. 2 more months from NOA2 to getting the case number! You need to have a lot of patience.

Has anyone been able to pay the IV app fee yet this week? It is still saying I can;t pay it on the portal and I paid my AOS fee and sent it 2 weeks ago. When I call NVC no one will give me a straight answer as to when the new fees will be posted.
I received the IV fee thru email last monday but was'nt able to pay until yesterday. Today its saying paid.

My case was reaffirmed early this month. I am wondering how long will I have to wait for NVC to contact me with a case number? Does anyone know? I have called twice and both times they tell me that they have not received it yet. And does the USCIS send it to them right away or do they hold it for a while? The representatives that answer the phone say 15 business days which is 3 weeks.
It took us approximately 7 weeks to get the petition to NVC from date of approval.

Hey guys, I'm just wondering should I call the NVC at this point as I'm waiting over a month to hear back from them after my NOA2, would it do any good or will they just tell me to wait some more? I have already emailed them but apart from an automated response I haven't heard back yet. Also since I can't really afford to call America is ot ok for my mother in law in the States to inquire on my behalf? Thanks for any help, starting to wonder what the delay is now.
Recently, it has been taking more time to get the papers from USCIS to NVC. In my case I got the approval letter on Feb.1,2012. NVC received it Mar.19,2012. so about 7 weeks. then to got nvc case number apr.3,2012.
Send a copy of your approval letter to nvcresearch@state.gov

Got this email today. Should I be worried?
Dear Sir/Madam:
Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) has received your
inquiry and the attached I-797 Notice of Action - Approval Notice.
Unfortunately, we do not have record of receiving your approved petition
from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The NVC will contact
USCIS on your behalf for information on the location of this petition.
Sincerely,
Jess

Hi guys,
I am honored to join VJ crowed. Just wanted to also put my piece of information. I am in the same boat with everyone else who are waiting for the IV bill to be generated. I called them on number of occasions and they told me that it should be up sometime before Friday. My husband also received an email from NVC saying that IV bill will be sent shortly. I hope they will do it very soon.
Thank you and nice to meet you all
I just paid IV fee bill minutes ago for $230 only!

Hi everybody!
I received NO2 last february 1,2012 but until now NVC has not received anything from USCIS!Based on what I have read it only takes 1-2weeks average to get the papers from USCIS to NVC. Has anybody experienced this? I'm worried papers might be lost. Thanks for any input!

Questions about I-864 (AOS) document
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
I have the same situation so I'm going to try to answer your questions with my utmost knowledge.
The co-sponsor needs to submit a separate I-864 that would be your mom.
If your mom alone made enough money to meet/exceed the poverty line, your step-dad does'nt need to fill I-864A. but otherwise your step-dad needs to fill I864.
