it would be best to call the office and ask
I have seen 2 people (1 on VJ and another who contact me on whatsapp) that were told to come back in 90 days to retake the test

Did the officer say that to u?

if they say u can return in 90 days ,  ask if that is 90 calendar days or 90 business days

Their procedure is to send a new appointment letter
You can’t be from the UK and not be able to verbalize all the miserable things and treatments on the colonies by King George.  Isn’t that part of UK history classes?  LOL

It really depends on your FO and how busy it is. I heard it can take up to 90 days after your failed interview for them to reschedule a new one.

I agree.  When he told me what he said about the US vs United States I was a little concerned.  He didn't mark him wrong on anything about it, but just to call him out on it I felt was rude.

I am thinking it was question 58 and he answered it with the religious freedom intent, but said freedoms like religion.  We are going to practice exact terminology from the practice test.

Thank you.  I do stress over it.  That is just me and who I am.  The problem is that some of the questions he was asked were not even on the practice test.  I will look at this link and see if they are different.  He was asked Why do people immigrate to the US?  Like there are a million different answers yet we couldn't find one on line for this one.

🤣 no need to worry about an invasion from him.  He already wants to go back, but for now he is stuck here for sure.

Sorry his exact answer was freedoms like religion.  We are just going to make sure he says them exactly how they are written in the practice test.

If he literally said "religious freedom" that should have been correct. In your initial post you said that he answered "freedoms like religion" which is not one of the approved answers. He will need to memorize the exact answer as provided here: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/questions-and-answers/100q.pdf. Maybe try making some flashcards to practice with, to make sure he practices all questions?

    Something doesn’t add up here.

I’ve never heard of being required to name every member of the House of Representatives from one’s state of residence. If that were required then pretty no one from California woukd every naturalize.

You expected to name the House representative from your Congressional district and at least one of your two senators who represent  your state in DC

    ”Practice Civics Test Mobile App
Download our free civics study app at Google Play or the App Store. Search “USCIS civics test” and make sure USCIS is the developer”

the above is, imho, the most effective way to prepare for the civics test. In addition memorize the names of your 2 senators and of your house representative:

@JeanneAdil gave you the answer for that …and the question itself on the test is not plural…but the answer gives you a clue that it varies

You wont unfortunately get an answer to the nose poking practiced here. But yes what you are doing is a great thing. It shows you really care for him.

So there are about 100 Qs, they dont change.  I am unsure if they still use the "Trump" (new version) test questions or the original 2008 civics. I remember for some time they did and would ask which question set you wish to answer.

Either ways, he gets a second shot at it. If he fails again only then the application will be denied.

Thank you.  I will add that to his test to make sure he names them all next time.  He only named one of them, but the guy said name Utah's state Representative he didn't use a plural so I am guessing he thought he could name just one.

He didn't apply as a spouse.  He applied under the 5 year rule.  And the question was not Why did you immigrate.  It was why do people immigrate. Feels off to me to have been an answer about himself when it was not spoken that way.

Main issue moving would be him meeting the sponsorship requirements, well that is the issue I see mentioned most often.

At least it is much quicker and the forms are more obvious.

I will get the above information and have his start the FOIAs.   I don't know the answers as I am a friend of the Uncle.  My understanding is he only crossed the one time EWI.  Obtained his TPS and stayed until he left.  He only left the US the one time.  He was not caught and sent back at all.  Entered the one time, got his TPS, left without renewing any papers and TPS has since exp from what I understand.

He just went back on a plane and never came back to the US.  I cannot confirm if he had AP, but his papers have since exp from my understanding.

One thing I need to make sure you understand is citizenship eligibility is the combination of two things: a) being physically present in the US for at least 913 days in the last 5 years AND b) not being outside of the US for more than 180 days in one trip. The second is very important, 180 days may not always be the same as 6 months, depending on the months (think February).

I am not counting the days again and just going with the visual check and the days you provided. It does seem she should be eligible. Now, a difficult IO may challenge the intention by asking about the many trips she took, but that is not the law so do prepare an explanation but have no fear. In fact, my wife and I took many trips during our 3 years (14+ trips), but it was never an issue.

    Hope it helps!

Assuming my counting is correct, I get the following:

    11/2/17 - 4/12/18 = 161 days out of U.S.
    5/30/18 - 10/18/18 = 141 days out of U.S.
    2/21/19 - 8/6/19 = 166 days out of U.S.
    10/2/19 - 3/10/20 = 160 days out of U.S.

So these are less than 6 months, which is good. But I am not sure about the very small amount of time she spent in the U.S. between these trips. Someone more knowledgeable needs to chime in. However, this is what USCIS has to say:

An applicant for naturalization has the burden of establishing that he or she has complied with the continuous residence requirement, if applicable. Generally, there are two ways outlined in the statute in which the continuity of residence can be broken:[9]

The applicant is absent from the United States for more than 6 months but less than 1 year; or The applicant is absent from the United States for 1 year or more.
An officer may also review whether an applicant with multiple absences of less than 6 months each will be able to satisfy the continuous residence requirement. In some of these cases, an applicant may not be able to establish that his or her principal actual dwelling place is in the United States or establish residence within the United States for the statutorily required period of time.[10]

An LPR’s lengthy or frequent absences from the U.S. can also result in a denial of naturalization due to abandonment of permanent residence.

There is a cash amount but more than £18600. Also there is something about if he gets a job in the same field he has held in the US, then no six month requirement. I don’t remember the specifics. I gave you a link where you can start digging out the details for yourself.

He will have to secure UK employment making at least £18,600 for 6 months to sponsor you before you can live in the UK on a spouse visa. Extra for the child if she is not a British citizen. There are some other options you can look up, but having a joint sponsor like his parent is not an option.

Link to the UK process https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/partner-spouse

If you decide to come back to live in the US, you will have to start over on an IR1 visa and greencard for him. He is eligible for US citizenship right now. If he gets that, he can move back and forth with no immigration paperwork to do for  living in the US.
