we are all hoping that at least someone receives IL tomorrow the 27th.
we called today to NVC and my case doesnt have iV scheduled yet (i know my embassy is a very busy one..)
For what i´ve seen on some other IL threads, the 30s, 31st and first days of the next month are usually the dates where most of the IL emails arrive...

    Hey ca_babe,
Wondering whether you have got your interview schedule?
It has been almost a month since your case completed at NVC right?
I just mailed out my DS-230 package and NVC should have received it today.
So, I need to call up to check the status to see whether it has been completed at the NVC end, am I correct?

    Translation Requirements
All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations and submitted to the NVC. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator stating that the:
    Translation is accurate, and
    Translator is competent to translate.

We had a request from NVC for my wife's original birth certificate and I was told it would take 20 business day to process the documents. However, it just took them 5 business days to process the documents.

If you make enough income to be at or above the 125% of the poverty level, then you do not need to have or list assets such as savings on the I-134. If you make $40k, you have enough for a household size of up to 6. Your savings, or lack thereof, does not matter.

Air Force Wife reacted to Bigbear in My mother I-130 not approved till now applied in August!!!
aaron2020 The USCIS itself told me that my processing time is abnormal because they are now working on cases that was filed in November and I filed in August, and that's why they sent an Inqury and even the Immigration officer at the Info pass agreed that something is wrong!
About brining my mum here for my son and daughter.. My hospital were I will start residency have onsite daycare! But I will have to be oncall for 30 hours every 3 days! and this is not only the reason, I don't believe that some stranger that I pay for money can love my kids as much as I do! and this is something I am sure my mum does. a nanny may put them in bed and bla bla but she can never love them! I wanted my mum because she is the only person in this world who can replace my presence for my kids and give them as much love as I can. That's all! Not to mention she is coming for a GC which she is not taking someone's job! she can work herself. But for her and in our culture at least, it's very very normal for the grandma to take care of and have our kids while we works or go away! I am sorry I can't not trust anyone with my kids! I belive if I can't trust that person with a diamond then I can't for sure trust them with my kids because they are simply more prescious than any diamond in this world for me!
KingstonJamica, Thank you so much for your supporting words.

Where do you get off talking to the OP like that? It ain't none of your *BLANK* business if the OP wants his/her mother to be here as a baby sitter. And USCIS is definitely dragging their feet on the OP's case. Eight months is enough time for the OP to be concern and ask for help. Some of you need to have a blog spot going on some other site. People come here to ask for help and have questions answered by others who might have been in the same situation, not to be talk down to by "Dr Phill" There is always a time when we don't have anything to say that would be helpful to a Poster, that's when we must take the time to shut our PIE HOLES.

Air Force Wife reacted to aaron2020 in food stamp
    This is completely incorrect.
The US citizen husband can receive food stamps and Medicaid. The child (when he/she is born) will be a US citizen entitled to food stamps and Medicaid. The LPR spouse is not eligible for food stamp or regular Medicaid for the first five years in most cases. The LPR spouse is eligible for emergency Medicaid (such as emergency delivery).
The signers of the I-864 agree to reimburse the US government if the immigrant receives a means tested benefit. This applies only to reimbursement for benefits used by the immigrant. The US citizen petitioner can still receive food stamp and Medicaid.

Most people on this site file the petition and go through the process on their own without any legal assistance. If your situation is fairly simple -- no kids, no divorces, no felony record -- you should be able to follow the K-1 Guide on this site and do it on your own.
On the I-134, if it's just your fiancé(e) and yourself, then $20k is over the minimum and you wouldn't need a co-sponsor.

I use xoom all the time time, have been using it now for 4 years and never had a problem. Money is usually there in an hour and the price is unbeatable.

Xoom is not as efficient as WU and its not cheap really. If you do direct deposit to bank account it has to be done first thing in the morning or if not it will post next day. They are on pacific time. If you do USD pick up they do it through BHD and that bank kinda sucks. I have had times where my wife has had to go back because they "didn't have that amount in dollars". You basically get what you pay for. WU is more expensive but worth it. If you sign up for a gold card rewards you get a better rate and get rewards.. Check it out.

if you link WU to your checking account, the fees are about a third the cost, ie $12 instead of $30... It takes 3 days for funds to be ready for pick-up and they will email you when then are ready. Simply send money from home... money leaves checking account... 3 days later get an email when funds can be picked up... Sure beats the service fee and time of walking in the store...!!!
