I am considering submitting an expedite per my spouse I-130 on humanitarian situation due to the civil unrest& security condition in Syria and have some questions per requesting an expedite and asking my congressman’s help:

1) Does a letter/involvement from my congressman help getting an expedite request approved?

2) I am assuming an a expedite will be needed for each phase of the process (UCIS, NVC, ..), do I have to request the application to be expedited with these agencies first, and then contacted my congressman for help for each one of the them? or should the process be started by requesting my congressman help to expedite and then his/her office will take care of contacting the respective agency?

Ryan, Darnell, thank you for the fast reply. three questions:

1) how can a 6 year old sign the G-325A? can we sign it on his behalf?

2) How can we confirm that the two applications will be processed together as one package? do we need to mention this request in the accompanied cover letter?

3) also, please confirm that all subsequent fees (including the IV & AOS) will also need to be X2 (one for the wife/mother and one for the son/stepson), correct?

I intend to submit an I-130 application for my wife and her 6 year old son (stepson). will submitting a single I-130 form be sufficient in this case with her son listed in the form's section-C? or two I-130 forms are required, one the wife and the second for the stepson? similarly, how many I-130 filling fees are required in this case: 1X$420 or 2X$420?

Also, do we need separate (g-325a)s for both the wife & son?
