Alex&Manny reacted to NY_BX in Denied Entry to USA on a valid Visa
First of all, this is NOT your fault. This has nothing to do with calls or text messages, for god's sake. This is serious.
Now, I may be completely wrong here, but I have never heard of agents calling and holding basically a Stokes interview, especially when the passenger is arriving at his/ her country. Furthermore, there's no such thing of returning at POE people for "no reason." There's a reason, or many. Did you petition for him already? Are you in the middle of a CR-1 or IR-1? Does he have a tourist visa? What valid visa he had?
I believe tourist visas for Egyptians are meant to stay up to 30 days at a time. You said he came in July and left October. If that's the case, then he overstayed his visa, therefore he is deportable. Which means, he does NOT have a valid visa. Now, if I'm wrong about the timeframe, then something far serious has ocurred and you may be unaware.
Hopefully an expert can help you. My hunch tells me there's something going on in Egypt that you may not know about.
You MUST get surgery without him. That's the crucial thing! You can't fix that now. Take care of your health.
    Good luck!

The number of judgmental posts in this thread is horrid. Cultures all around the world engage in arraigned marriages on a regular basis. Asking what the young woman wants in this situation is akin to asking if the woman cares if she is turned out onto the street by her family (which is likely what would happen if she disagreed with the arranged marriage). When my wife was 25 she was considered an old maid and her family had given up hope of her ever getting married.
As for the marriage being legal most people in the US tend to forget that the legal age to marry in some states is lower than it is in most of the world. The legal age to marry with parental consent in Kansas is 12 for a girl, the same for Massachusetts. In New Hampshire it is thirteen. By the age of 16 a woman is able to be legally married in almost every state of the Union. So people really need to get off their high horses and realize their moral outrage has no place in a forum designed for people seeking immigration advice.
To the OP, if your family is arranging the marriage it would be best to set up a chaperoned visit to formalize the engagement. There are occasional exceptions made for religious reasons but it would be best not to count on one being made in your case. It may also be better to avoid the K-1 path altogether and marry her in Syria and then file for a CR-1 visa for her as your spouse.

If I remember correctly, I believe the K1 instructions do have an exception to the 2-year rule. It states that it is waived if it violates long-standing religious traditions, or something like that. Is that the case with this arranged marriage?

Isn't there a section about arranged marriages, somewhere in all the paperwork?
I am by no means stating I agree with arranged marriage, but some countries and cultures do.
Maybe this is his case - so quit judging. If it's not, then, yes - arranged or not - your significant other HAS to agree to marry.
As for the two year rule, I'm not very sure. I would think there is no exception. Wait another year or so, you're both young, MAYBE (HA!) Syria will calm down and you'll be able to visit.

Call me crazy, but it sounds like you haven't left your marriage because you're scared of not finding someone that meets your high standards or someone who likes you because of your age and weight, and not so much because of the fact that you don't really love him?
I'm also going to butt out before I start giving advice that wasn't asked for - but you need some more confidence woman.
You sound like an amazing person that's married to a real sh*tty one.

I have a concern that you haven't researched what you're embarking on thoroughly.
Instead of giving you an easy answer, my perogative, I ask that you go back and study the guides to make sure that you haven't skipped all the pertinent details that you need to know. This is such an easy but important question tha tyou should really no the answer.
Yes I know, I'm a grumpy old Man but helpful in my own way.

If all goes well during his interview, (which it will! ) I really don't think he'll get to that Thanksgiving weekend.
Stay positive, the most I've read people wait has been a week, while others had news on their visa that same day of the interview!

I beg to differ Mimolicious. If a non-spanish speaking/reading person cannot answer this, it should simply be ignored and hopefully someone who CAN read spanish will be able to help.
And it is the same with any other foreign language, as this is a multicultural website.
As long as help is provided, it should not matter what language the question is posted in.

What a lot of people don't know is rkk1 has posted MANY times about her husband. The gist of it is this:
    - He will NOT help her with household finances once he's here and earning in US currency. He said he will send it all home to care for his family
    - At one time, with the tax refund, he demanded she send him a portion seeing it was thanks to him that she got so much of a return (there was a lot more to this, with him constantly changing amounts and trying to use emotional blackmail on her)
    - She was pressured to marry him and wasn't ready at the time (from her previous posts) but she's trying to make it work because of family pressure.
There are many previous posts of rkk1 which show severe issues in the relationship. I have no doubt she is being used, that his delay is due to getting the 10 year card so he doesn't need her anymore, or something else nefarious.

OP - I keep reading your posts for a while and very honestly can't believe you haven't file for divorce long time ago. Sorry - that's how I see it. Find husband that truly cares about you - from your posts I can tell you're truly worth it.

Your Indin sisters here in the US, who have married tradional Indian husbands have told me to part these words of wisdom to you. HE is not going to change what you see is what you will have; here in the US or back in India. If you wish for him to be someone different, that's not going to happen.

    People stop confusing the OP,
They are waiting to submit the last documents, i.e PC, and etc. Husband will need his passport for the interview, which he doesn't have yet because husband is dragging his feet. Hubby probably knows more about the immigration process than those who are questioning the OP. He is waiting on the 2 year marriage mark, he knows he will get a 10 year GC when he enters the US.
It looks as if hubby has a plan, which in the end maynot be including you. You have been given plenty of advise and opinions on your previous post. The ball is in your court, only you can play the ending of this.
    Good luck.

    Time for a reality check.
You don't have a job. You want to bring her here. Instead of trying to find a way to support the both of you in the US, you would rather hang in the Philippines. That's not a great plan.
Be a grown up. Endure the separation like many other couples. Go get a job to support yourself and your future wife. Sacrifice a few months together to prepare for a lifetime together.

This was uncalled for. There were a lot of people who wrote about disappointment about how slow things are going at vsc. It's only natural that when they get approved, either it's at vsc or csc, they should express their happiness with others.
And have respect for what? Nobody died. They are all getting there, slower or faster.
So, no need for this thread, in my opinion.
    Cheers!
