She didn’t say it’s superior. Her point is you don’t need a smartphone to flag down a local taxi, unlike Uber or Grab. That way you won’t have to risk leaving your phone with the vendors outside the embassy. Or better yet just travel with a companion. 

This is a sample questionnaire that I found here on VJ. Credits to the creator, I forgot her username. 
 
I filled out the questions and sent it to my parents for them to memorize.  This is really a helpful guide.
 

Questions asked by American consul:
    1.  Where are you traveling? We will travel to Los Angeles, California. 
    2.  What’s the purpose of your visit? We will visit our daughter Apple21. 
    3.  Is your daughter married? Yes. 
    4.  How long has your daughter been in the US? She’s been in the US for 4 years already. 
    5.  What’s your middle name for your single status? (This pertains to my mom’s maiden name.)
    6.  What’s the status of your daughter? She is a Lawful Permanent Resident. 
    7.  What’s your occupation? I am retired now but previously I was a public school teacher (and my dad was an insurance underwriter). 
    8.  How long will you stay in the US? We will stay there for 2 weeks only.
 
My parents are both 71 years old. 
They were interviewed together (US Embassy Manila, Philippines). 
No additional documents needed at the embassy. 
They just brought their passports and DS160 confirmation sheets. 
On the DS160 question on WHO WILL SPONSOR YOUR TRIP, they wrote my brother’s name who is also traveling with them. He has a high paying job in the Philippines. He already has a valid B2 visa and he’s the one paying for the airline tickets. They didn’t include my name anymore coz my brother is really the one with the moolah! Lol.
 
Tips:
Be consistent. Whatever you wrote on the DS160 that should also be your answer during the interview. 
Be relaxed as much as possible. 
Be polite.
Be presentable. Wear atleast smart casual as if you’re going to a job interview (yes even for parents!)
Don’t stress/bother about additional docs like invitation letters or bank statements/affidavit of support/land or car titles....THEY ARE NOT NEEDED. THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED.

Hubby’s passport card arrived today. I like the way it looks. Way better than the driver’s license. 

Certified copy of your marriage certificate is all you need. The supporting docs can be submitted later on at the NVC stage or at the embassy interview. 

If the published date for example is Sept 8, meaning only applications with priority date of Sept 7 and backwards may file. Sept 8 and onwards should wait for the next round of visa bulletin.

2GO sms alerts are not reliable. Make sure to watch your gate for the delivery guy! Lol. 

You didn't have to send it back. If you called they will tell you that any typo error on the IDS sheet is common & it will not be an issue at POE as long as all info on the visa itself is correct.
We had the same problem with my hubby's IDS sheet before, we called and that's what USEM said. True, it was not a problem at POE.

Nope, that wouldn't be an issue. The IDS sheet is not a big deal. What matters is the visa itself.

That's the exact instructions I gave to another VJ member and he was successful to print another copy of his ds260 confirmation page.

An illegitimate child having the mother's middle and last name will not mean they are siblings. An illegitimate child may have a middle name (mom's) or not. It's entirely optional. My son was previously illegitimate too and he has my middle and last names on his BC and it wasn't an issue when he immigrated here in the US.

Go to ceac. Click on the iv application. Click "next" at the bottom right hand side until you reach to the very last page and you will see there the barcoded ds260 confirmation page. Click PRINT CONFIRMATION.
Print an extra copy so if you lose it again, you'll have another copy.
Don't worry it won't re-open your case.

My husband and our 3 kids didn't have any issues receiving their SS cards back in 2011.
Unfortunately, I was in the same situation as D&Q. After waiting for the SS card for more than 2 weeks, we decided to make a follow-up and alas my SS was not processed at POE. Had to apply for it myself.
When you go to the SSA office, bring your passport and original birth and marriage certificates.

Just bring whatever tax returns you have. My hubby brought all of his but the interviewer didn't ask for them. He didn't ask for any other document. He is a 5 year filer too. He was petitioned by his father (f2b category) if that helps ?

The officer said to wait for the oath taking letter or check online status. 

My husband passed his interview today. ?
They didn't ask for any document, just his driver's license and GC.
