afoyoswa got a reaction from LeftCoastLady in USCIS Processing Time Information for our Texas Service Center
The Texas Service Center does not process K-1 petitions, and is not the same thing as the Dallas Lockbox where K-1 petitions are sent to be redistributed to the 2 service centers that do process K-1 petitions: Vermont and California. Your NOA1 lists which of these your petition was sent to: when you figure out which one it is, update your timeline with the corrected information and then check the timeline for that location.

I thought that guy said his was done quickly because he made an expedite request. I was curious too and someone finally asked him and he said he had his case expedited on grounds of financial hardship. Everyone was curious about how he got that approved but I didn't see any response for him. This whole process means financial hardship lol, I think USCIS should process things quickly on grounds of that alone. I have thought about it and I think most people would rather pay more and be done with this process faster than to pay less and then have to go through all this. It is very much worthwhile to pay more just so you can move on with your life already Anyway, let's all hang in there!

To the OP: I am just poking my head into the MENA forum (despite not having connections to this region) because it is helpful to read accounts from difficult embassies, as I am also dealing with one that is known to be somewhat difficult, and I really cannot believe the tone of your messages. People are trying to be helpful, and you are alternating between defending yourself and attacking them, without really listening to what they have to say except to evaluate whether they agree with you or not. An attitude like this won't go over well at an embassy, regardless of the facts of your case.
And I don't think anyone has problems understanding your English, necessarily: it's just that the very long sentences with many ideas run together without punctuation or organization (not typical in written English, as you can see from the posts of others, even those who are not native speakers) and your non-standard spelling (correct letters, but jumbled in a way that suggests hasty typing rather than not knowing how to spell the words) really increases the degree to which you come across as careless and easily riled up. That's not helping you here at all.
If you and your petitioner are approaching this visa journey as a team, you will want to work together to do everything you can to make this work, and having her join/post here as well would be a big part of that.

We got our interview date - Thursday, March 22nd! His medical exam is complete (everything went well) so this is our last step!!
Wish us luck! I wish I could be with him, but I have school and there's no way I can make it. Hoping it all goes smoothly...

Quite a few of these costs are embassy-specific, so you're more likely to get an accurate figure if you post in your regional forum. That said, what do you mean by "interview process"? There's the petition ($340) and the visa application ($350), but beyond that it's embassy-specific until you get to the U.S. and AOS.
I'm really not too fussed about having things come out even, myself, but more with having the correct amount of money where it needs to be to pay a given expense when it needs to be paid, whether it's from him or from me. Once he's here we'll be sharing finances more in general and he'll also be earning money in USD, so there's plenty of time to sort that out later.

afoyoswa got a reaction from C-ma'am in what's your wedding plans?
I have my dress, and I've already talked to the minister (at the church where the wedding will be held) about our plans, put bridesmaids/guests on alert, and begun thinking about other arrangements, but I won't book anything until he gets here. I'll put my dress receipt and probably a letter from the minister in Aaron's folder to bring to the interview: can't hurt!

Was it really necessary to come into a thread where a question was clearly and considerately asked and answered, and everyone involved had moved on, and say something like this?
Even having only been here a few weeks, I've already seen some of the same questions asked multiple times, but if seeing such a thing bothers you so much that you feel the need to be snarky, maybe the problem is not with the askers (who are, after all, making use of this site for its intended purpose) but with the readers for deliberately exposing themselves to stimuli guaranteed to make them angry.
