  1. Looking at the timeline, it seems California Service Center is now processing December NOA1. The latest NOA2 is 12/22/2011 NOA1. My NOA1 is 12/30/2011. Hopefully, within the next couple of weeks, we will hear from them. For those of us that have late December NOA1, let's keep our fingers cross. I strongly believe that very soon we will hear from them.

  2. Back in 2009, I did an Affidavit of Support - Form I-864 for my cousin when she was adjusting her status. Few months later, she got her condition permanent resident. In 2011, she petitioned to remove the condition on her permanent resident. However, another person did the affidavit of support for her. I will be doing an affidavit of support for my spouse soon. Please I was just wondering if I should include my cousin as one of my dependents. Since another person did the affidavit of support for her, does his or her own affidavit of support overrides my own affidavit of support. Please advise.

  3. I have a question with regard to form DS3025 Choice of Agent. When I petition for my parent few years ago, NVC mailed the DS3025 form to me which I mailed to my parent residing outside United States. After signing and authorizing me as the agent, she mailed it back to me, then I mailed it to NVC. I heard that one can save the time and cost of mailing by doing all this through email. Please I was just wondering if one can tell me how this can be done through email. Thanks.

  4. I got married in November 2011. My spouse is a non united states citizen currently living oversea. I am a United States citizen. I have already petition for her to join me over here in the United States. One of the documents required for filing form I-864 is tax return. Since she is currently not living in the United States, please I was just wondering if anyone can advise me on the status I should be claiming. In the previous two tax returns, I was filing as head of household because my mother is living with me. I don't know if it is worth it applying for ITIN number. Is it ok to go with head of household? Please advise.

  5. According to the email I received for my form I-130 petition, the USCIS mentioned about receiving my petition on December 30. Please I was just wondering if anybody can tell me the date I should put on my timeline for NOA1. Should I put December 30 being the date USCIS said they received my petition or should I put down the date they emailed me being January 4. Please advise. Thanks.

  6. I received an email informing me about USCIS accepting my I-130 petition. They informed me that my petition have been routed to California and I will receive the hard copy Form I-797 in about 7 - 10 days by standard mail. They also informed me about my receipt number. I went online and I noticed that it is under initial review. They only email me this information. They did not text me. When I am updating my timeline, should I put the date I receive the information in the email or the date I received the hard copy.

  7. I changed my mind. Yes the above is correct but, you could write instead of Unemployed . YOU COULD WRITE: HOUSEWIFE. Since your married. Are there children OP? Just a question.

No, there are no children. Right now, she is unemployed while looking for a teaching position. In the marriage certification, her profession is teacher. I don't think that matters. I don't know if it is ok to put housewife.

  8. Then if she's the beneficiary, they really don't care about her Income. Just where she's been 5 years. They only care about your income. As the USC to Support her in the US. Just fill it out truthfuly, if she was working, give the dates, if she was unemployed give the dates.

Ok thanks. Another thing I forget to mention is that she is currently in Nigeria. I am petitioning to bring her over to United States.

Let me clarify, The first line should be unemployed with the date, then the second line should be her last job as a teacher.

  9. My spouse has been a teacher for over five years in Northern Nigeria. Due to the terrorist attack, she had to quit her job and relocate to the south three months ago. Since then, she has been out of work. On the G-325A form on the information about employer, what should I put on the first line that is asking for current employer. Should I put it "Unemployed". Then the second line should be her last job as a teacher. Please advise.

  10. Hi,

If you become US Citizen by Naturalization, then I-130 need a certificate number in Question#13 of I-130,

Certificate of Naturalization has two numbers printed on it:

    (1) CIS Registration No, which is an 'A' number.

    (2) Just a serial number.

which number should go in Question#13?

also Question#10 pf I-130, asked for "Alien Registration Number", is it the same as printed an 'A' number on Certificate of Naturalization?

and is it the same number asked on G-325A when asked to enter "File Number A#"?

    Please help. Thanks a lot.

A number is the number assigned to permanent resident (Green Card holders) while the number on the certificate of naturalization is the number assigned to you once you become a United States citizens via naturalization. They are two different numbers. When you become a United States Citizen through naturalization, the A number is no longer valid.
