  1. I had an IV checklist from the NVC. My spouse made the correction and the form was delivered to NVC on Friday via USPS express mail. I don't know if any VJ has had this kind of experience. Please I was just wondering if any VJ know how long it will take NVC to review my case. They usually say 20 days but that is not true. When I submitted the IV package, it took them 4 days to review it. According to the NVC staff every document is ok except the DS230 that I had a checklist on because of the mistake we made on the address lived since age of 16.

  2. I would have my case closed but we received a checklist via email yesterday. We made an error on the address lived since age 16. There was a typo on the month and year and they instructed us to correct it and mail it back.

Fortunately, we received this checklist 3 hrs to the time my cousin is leaving for Los Angeles. My spouse filled out another DS230 form with the new correction and gave it to my cousin. Luckily, my cousin arrived LAX at 10.30 am. I collected the form and mail it out before 12 noon via USPS Express Mail. The document will be at NVC by 12 noon tomorrow Friday. Hopefully, by next week my case will be closed and ready for the next stage.

  3. Wow......I am in the same exact situation.... My Fiance just sent out the documents that he had to sign via EMS Speed-post also they also said it will take 3 days and I should have received it on Wednesday....still have not received anything as of yet. then my Fiance went there yesterday morning and they said I should be receiving yesterday.......nothing.......this is beyond ridiculousmad.gif

They can't do anything in Nigeria. It is the customs that are holding the documents. I was advised by USPS staff to contact customs. I contacted them and one of their staff said that they can't help me. All she told me was that they receive thousands of packages everyday and they have to go through it. It is taking more than a week for documents.

  4. This is really ridiculous. I tracked my document sent through EMS Speedpost and it is still with the customs. I don't think this would have happen if it is DHL or FEDEX. I think sending any document or package from Nigeria by speedpost is a very good idea. My documents has been with the customs in New York since July 9 and I don't know how long it will be there. I have paid my IV fee and it shows Paid but I can't do anything because the customs are now holding my documents. I have called USPS and they are not helping. All they keep telling me is to file a complaint with Speedpost in Nigeria.

  5. That is not a good news. I called the USPS and one of their employees told me to ask my spouse to file a complaint over there in Nigeria. This is really ridiculuous. We all know that USPS is not going to do anything about that. I hope they don't hold that document for that long. I for one know that they don't that to documents coming from Europe. All I have to do is wait and pray that it didn't stay with customs for that long.

  6. My spouse mailed some of the required documents for DS230 via EMS Speedpost. The package was mailed out on July 5 from Lagos. I have been tracking it since then. Since July 9 the package is still with the Customs in New York. Please I was just wondering if anybody has had this experience before. I don't understand why the package will still be with the customs in New York since July 9. When my spouse was mailing out the document, the speedpost employee told her that it will take 3 days to reach its destination and today is exactly one week. Your thoughts.

  8. It'll be within the next few days, most likely this week! Just keep an eye on the payment portal, it should be soon.

I received the IV bill in my email. I checked the payment portal and it is ready for payment. Hopefully, I will finalized everything by Friday.

  9. My spouse received an email from NVC acknowleding receiving the choice of agent and address she emailed to them. Please I was just wondering if any VJ know how soon they will be invoicing me for the $230 IV fee. I checked the payment portal and they haven't invoiced me. Thanks.

The acknowlegement email from NVC was received on Friday July 5. Hopefully, we will hear from them within the week.

  11. I am looking at the timeline and I am trying to understand what NVC means by Receive I-864 Package. I never receive any I-864 package by email. I only receive I-864 Bill and DS3032 choice of agent. I have paid and mail out the I-864 package. when it state receive I-864 package, is it the same with the date I received I-864 bill and DS3032 choice of agent form. Please advise. Thanks.

  12. I am putting together the package for I-864 AOS. Please I was just wondering if it is ok to staple the form together or just use a clip and put them together. On the other documents such as paystub and tax transripts, is it ok to write my case number on each of the pages. Please advise. Thanks.
