  1. My spouse went to MTN office last weekend. Fortunately, they will be able to provide her three months records of call history she made to me. I can come up with one year call history made from my rebtel account in addition to one years records of my cell phone showing calls she made. I think I should be ok with issues pertaining to phone calls between both of u. Thanks.

  2. I have Rebtel phone log showing calls made to my spouse for the past 1 year. However, I noticed that the calls I made to her shows my home phone number or cell number (whichever I use) and her name. Please I was just wondering if this will be acceptable during the interview. However, I have a contact page showing her name and her cell phone number. Your thoughts.

  3. I have 12 months of rebtel call history from me to my spouse. I think that will suffice. Another good news is that my spouse can get call history of all the calls she made to me from MTN office. Fortunately, her cell phone provider is MTN. We don't know how much they will charge. I know for sure that it is not free.

  4. Thanks for the info. My spouse will be doing her own medical examination on Monday at Children's practice. I will make sure she has enough money. It is quite a shame that they designated only two clinics for medication examination. What a shame. Just forget it and focus on the interview. When your spouse join you, it will be a thing of the past.

  5. I just asked this but I don't see that it posted. Forgive me if it ends up posting twice. I'm just curious.... because I'm putting my phone records together right now, too. How many pages do you plan to provide? All of them you have or just a sampling?

I am contemplating doing a sampling. I have rebetel phone record as of September last year.

  6. Thanks for your input. Please I was just wondering if any VJ can tell me how many months record of phone call history should I provide for my spouse. I have records of calls from last year. I don't know how detail they go when it comes to phone records. Your thoughts.

  7. I am getting everything ready for my spouse upcoming interview on October 31. As I said earlier, the only issue I have is the phone record. The phone record is on her own side. I have cell phone bills showing her number from September 2011 through June 2012. I don't know if that will suffice. On my part, I have the rebetel call history from July 2011 till today. I don't have call history showing her call from July 2012 till date. I am trying to see if she can get the phone call history over there in Nigeria. Her cell phone provider is MTN. I don't know if this is possible. However, it doesn't hurt trying. Your thoughts.

  8. It's coming as unknown but is the phone number the same as the number that has the name with it?

Yes. A staff with my cell phone provider was able for figure out the reason I am seeing my spouse incoming calls as unknown. My cell phone is a prepaid account. On the 17th of each I have to deposit $50 into my cell phone account and it end on 16th of next month. I don't receive any phone bill with history of calls because it is prepaid. It is quite unfortunate that my spouse calls me on a daily basis but now I am having problem providing history of her incoming calls showing her number. I wish there is any way she can get it in Nigeria. Any suggestion is highly appreicated.

  9. Thanks for your input. This is what I will do. I will combine my rebetel call history with her own calls. I have bills from October 2011 through June 2012 that shows her incoming calls. After June, I don't have any because my Verizon phone was switched to prepaid. There is no bills when it come to prepaid. I supplement it with her emails. She call but it is showing as unknown number on the usage call history. Thanks.

  10. It's coming as unknown but is the phone number the same as the number that has the name with it?

Yes. It is the same number. However, this time it shows unknown. I don't have call history showing her recent numbers. I contacted the cell phone carrier and they were telling me that they are adhering to federal regulations. As I said, I have her call history untill June 2012.

  11. There is another issue with regard to my spouse calls to me. On my phone bills, I have list of her calls to me from October 2011 through June 2012. After that, her calls are coming as unknown. I tried to sorting this issue with the phone company which they couldn't find the answer. On my own part, I have history of calls till today. Your thought.

  12. As I said in my previous topics, my spouse interview is on October 31. I usually call her everyday, sometimes twice a day via rebetel. I have the records of all the call. I know one of the things they ask is about records of calls made. Please I was just wondering Rebetel call record is acceptable during the interview. Another thing I notice is that when looking at the calls, you are seeing the name of person you are calling and your own phone number. Your thoughts. Thanks.

  13. My spouse did her police certificate at Alagbo Lagos in July. I keep hearing that it is valid for only 3 months. Her interview is on October 31. Please I was just wondering if the police certificate is still valid by then or do she has to do another one before the interview date. Please advise.

  14. Okay, today is Tuesday, September 25th, 2012.

My husband went for his medical this morning. He said he arrived about 8:30 and there was a line of people waiting. When it was his turn to be waited on, he was told to submit a copy of his biographic page, passport photo's and show his passport. They then instructed him to go to the bank and pay =N= 12,000. He said the bank was not very far from the facility and it did not take long inside the pay the fee. When he came back Children's, he submitted his receipt/printout (whatever the bank gave him) and he was told to have a seat until called.

When they first called him back they drew blood, took his blood pressure and other vitals. (His blood pressure was a little high, but the nurse told him it could have been due to anxiety or anticipation of the exam, it happens). He had a seat again.

Next, he was called for his chest x-ray then asked to be seated again. He said it was quite a wait, but was called again to pay the =N= 9,000. Again, asked to have a seat.

Eventually they called him upstairs where the doctor asked him a broad range of questions then examined him. After the examination, he received his vaccinations. The doctor told Divine he would need to see him again on Thursday for an EKG. He had to pay an additional =N= 10,000 for that appointment before he left Children's. So his second appointment is on Thursday at 3pm.

I don't think they have found anything wrong, I just believe they are checking him out further because he is in his 40's and its just mandatory for his age range. He paid those fees to day and the set him up an appointment for 3pm (yes, a scheduled appointment). If all is well with the EKG (and I believe it will be) he will receive his packet at or after 4pm the same day.

The entire exam took about 6 - 1/2 hours.

He said the people were extremely nice and very accommodating during his visit. One of the nurses asked him if he was positively sure he loved his wife and chatted with him. He said she is also married to a US Citizen and her husband plans to begin petitioning for her this month. So lets all pray for that family as well.

Thanks for sharing. My spouse will be doing her own medical examination next month.

  15.

I used to live North of Dallas.

Thanks for sharing this, this airline has fantastic prices.

It seems outbound flights have a 22 hours layover in Instabul, persents an opportunity to mix with the natives.

Return using LAX - $989, one way from Lagos $1,308.00, ($2,300 versus $3,600 with United) will have to do a lot of thinking about this.

    Edit:

    Some research material http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkish_Airlines

Considering the happenings recently with the idiots with the anti muslim video, how safe are USC in Turkey? Will do some research on this also.

I agree with you. It is a good deal but the biggest issue is safety. Turkey is a muslim country. How safe is it to travel with this airline especially when your final destination is United States.

  16. I haven't scheduled my flight yet. However, I have shopping for ticket since I got the interview date. I am leaning towards booking a flight ticket with Turkish airline. When I checked it based on early November departure date, one way ticket from Lagos to Los Angeles (POE) is $1,329. I believe that will be the cheapiest fare. In addition, there is no need for a transit visa.

  17. My spouse is now getting ready for medical examination. Based on information we get from Nigeria Vjers, we are leaning towards using Children Pratice in Ikoyi, Lagos. Please I was just wondering if any VJ can tell us how many days it will take to complete the whole medical examination ranging from X-ray to vaccinations. Thanks.

  18. My spouse interview will be next month. I have some questions with regard to the visa. After they approve the visa, do she pick it up the same day or she has to come on a certain day to collect it. Please advise. Thanks.
