And I think this goes to prove that having your Congressman call to see the status of your case was no problem. If I do not have approval by the end of next week, I will be doing the same. At least to know that it's in the hands of adjudicator will alleviate some anxiety. You a star. ha

To be honest, I don't think I do either. Being out of processing has just made me feel awful about the whole thing. I'd much rather just sit and enjoy the community that we have here and wait. I've done all I can for my petition, but I sincerely hope that every single person that's overdue does what I did. Maybe it'll kick em up the backside

Yes. I hope all of our prayers will be answered soon. Everyone here deserves it, and we have waited patiently for them to process our petitions in a timely manner. It disturbs me to see that some petitions will randomly get neglected and endure some irrational and lengthy processing time long after the approval of their peers. I think it's most troubling because this is a very personal process (some less than sincere couples may get through), but most of us truly love and care for our beneficiary and were willing to endure this nightmare just to be with them. So in a way, they are playing dice or roulette or whatever we want to call it with our lives...Honestly, there should be a system that prevents any petition from grossly exceeding those 5 months (the service requests are less than adequate). Again, it hasn't happened to me yet. But the thought sickens me. I know a part of me will really experience some sadness when I check my timeline this weekend and see that my approval window has passed...The scripted responses when we call, the inaction when petitions linger beyond the normal processing time, random RFEs for documents that were most likely lost during process, and the NOA2 isn't even the end of the battle for the K1...It's a nightmare process. But I agree. May God help us all. It appears January filers are going to really need it.

what a bummer! I have yet to meet the man who doesn't mind using condoms on a regular basis. However, if I told my husband to wear a condom, a tiara, fairy wings, and a big bird nose before we do it, guess what? He would. He also pays his half of my BC.
Of course you're not ready to procreate with a man who currently cannot (and who knows when?) enter the United States. And clearly, from his personal point of view of pregnancy and childbirth, it is all up to you to take care of your body and the consequences.
And concerning abstaining, whether or not you are taking BC or are against it, do you really want to have sex with someone who disregards/lacks empathy towards his partner and the consequences of his actions? Sometimes a break does good.

That's how I understood your original post and I agree 100%!Sometimes it looks like those whose marriages failed are looking for an easy way to erase their ex from their life. Yeah just send them home and get over with it and move to another one huh?!... It's really cruel and I see no sympathy for them...

What do George Zimmerman's injuries prove?
He already told the 911 dispatcher that he was following Martin. How do we know that Martin wasn't the one defending himself? Since HE was the one that was unarmed, his fists were all he had.
I fail to see how any injuries Zimmerman suffered prove he didn't provoke the attack. Again, he was the one with the gun and the one doing the following.

    OP...I feel sorry for you...
I've decided not to apply for the B2 for similar reasons... better just use the VWP.
I'm also sad for some of the nasty responses in this thread... some people have maybe never left the US Yes there are plenty of Americans traveling all over for little money and for months on end... just as we Europeans do
It's all a matter of priorities...you save money and then you go
Personally it's sounds like little money with $7000 for 6 months but I'm a big shopper hehe. Otherwise it's no problem to live on that amount....as long as you stay with friends it's no biggie.
Nobody from Europe goes to the US to get benefits or healthcare.... we already have that..
We go cos we enjoy it there and have friends there
And the working illegally... truth is he could have easily stayed on the VWP and done that but chose not to. Same with me and many others.
If someone truly wants to do that the fact they have a "normal fulltime" job at home is not gonna stop them... just sayin'

to be fair, $7000 will get your pretty damn far in new orleans!
i for one am sorry to hear about this, ross. i hate when people are punished for doing things the right way - if you wanted to sneak in and get a barjob and stay (not hard in nola), you could just do that by overstaying on VWP - but you tried to follow the law.
it's kind of a recurring theme with american immigration, causing endless frustration to those who are just trying to be honest....

Ok, here you go! I work for a close friend whom I tend the bar is his main pub that is part of a rapidly expanding chain of what is now 9 bars and 1 night club. He himself leads a bit of a jetsetting lifestyle always on lengthy vacations around the world he's just back from Vegas and intends to travel route 66 in October.
Anyway he fully supports what I wanted to do granted me up to 6 months unpaid leave and told me if my cash where to run dry he'd support me or help with flight costs home!
Ok so that's how I'm physically able to leave my job.
I intend on returning to the UK to study business administration after my trip!
I first visited New Orleans for football being a massive saints fan I decided to go to the season opener in 2010 through a forum I met some amazing friends and decided that it was possible to extend my trip longer than a planned 2 weeks. I had just finished up studying and decided to take some time out!
I stayed there for 3 months on a little over 3k I paid a third of the household bills at my friends which he shares with another friend. I paid a third of the groceries and we all took turns each to cook. I had already paid in full for a Saints season ticket at face value from my friend!
I spend huge amounts of time outdoors indulging activities which cost very little, like hunting and fishing! And when I'm doing these things I'm also camping!
So no, I have never leached from anyone! And yes it's very pheasible!
What is your problem anyway? Really? You seem to have took this personally all I asked for was a little guidance not jumped all over the top off when I'm already feeling pretty low and distraught at what's happened.

Dude, you need to get yourself some real friends, I would let my friends stay with me for years and the opposite is also true.
If I can't do it, then why can he? Lol at that!
I am taking a year off my job to good off in another country, and yes, it is guaranteed by law that I will still have my job when I return. Some Americand get that too, ever heard of Sabbatical?

Noah why are you even on this forum? Do you really have nothing better to do than to disuade people (On the internet, mind you) from coming to the United States? It's a bit sad. The only purpose of your posts is to scare people about the visa, tell them to go to another country, or question their stories. What do you think you are doing? Protecting America from bartenders of the UK? There are bigger problems buddy ...
And just so you know ... many Americans take extended vacations from work and travel. I did this last year in South America. I travelled for 7 months with money that I had saved up from my previous job. I lived on roughly 10-15 dollars a day, and got by just fine. Through my travels, I met many other Americans doing the exact same thing. It's really not that hard and is something that is becoming more and more popular with younger generations.

Ummm...I've done it. I was in between undergrad and graduate school, had worked for a year, and wanted to see the world. No one but my savings paid my way.
Statements like this just display ignorance. Regardless of the OP's motives, to say that no American would ever take six months off to travel is wrong and shows a short-sighted view of the world.
I now live abroad, where it is quite common to find Americans (and other nationalities) who have taken off even (shockingly) a year or two.
You would do better in your arguments if you did not make such blatant, false generalizations.

Clearly you're just jealous. Sad. There's plenty of Americans "goofing off" all over the world. Realistically. Travel a bit, broaden your mind, meet your fellow Americans "goofing off" in the most random places. They're not bad people!

I find Gary funny - he always shows off the accomplishments of the kids that aren't biologically his and that he didn't raise, while keeping his mouth shut on the achievments of the sons that are actually his and was responsable for.
