    All,
Some posts removed as TOS violations. Further infractions will result in thread ban and/or suspension of account. Stay on the OP's topic or get out now.

People are hijacking this threat. It's not about gowon or rosaline or anybody else, it's about the OP. If you wanna talk about your problems and stories, open your own topic!!!
To the OP: how do you know it was fraud and not just a marriage gone wrong at the wrong time?

Gowon, to have a debate you must first say something intelligent that has anything to do with the OP's statement. You just chime in on other people's post and when someone calls you out on it, you claim this is Gowon's world and it still goes round.
You constantly belittle or berate other people's post. Try saying something positive for a change, or just direct your comments to the OP.
OP, you have been giving lots of decent advice. Filter through the nonsense and make a decision based on what you think is best.
So sorry you are having a tough time.

I don't want to generalize all the USC men or women who marry a non-USC person, yet, I've seen many of them who want the foreign spouse to be nothing but a servant, a piece of possession they've invested some thousand dollars in and now it's time for them to get it back. "Serve me, obey me or you'll send you back home." Or "no matter how bad I treat you here you still luck out, you live better here than you did in your home country."
We, the foreign spouses, wouldn't mind leaving the US if we hadn't given up everything, job, house, bachelorhood, or barcherettehood, many opportunities to come here to share our life with you. Entering a marriage is not like going to a bowling game, if the game is not so much fun, ok, we'll quit and go home.
There are many reasons for a marriage to not work. But once it falls apart, the only excuse the USC spouse resorts to is "h/she scammed me into marrying him/her and now h/she leaves me!" Oh really? So you were naive like an angel! Angels don't complain or try to hurt anybody.
I do believe that things like that do happen somewhere sometimes, yet, they don't happen to every marriage, which the foreign spouse (has to or chooses to) get out of.
Being bitter and vindictive doesn't make anyone happy, especially immediately after a failed marriage.

because your marriage didnt work that does not make it fraud, and besides we have not heard the other side of the story, sometimes immigrants married US citizens who ends up being crazy and controlling, the immigrant has no choice but to leave the crazy spouse and run for their life after they get greencard

While yes, many if not most men will check out females other than their wife or fiancee, it's unnecessary to share this fact with everyone. That's not being honest, it's being uncouth and piggish for lack of a better word. If your fiancee finds it cute then share it with her, only. The rest of us don't want to hear the details of your wandering eyes. Nor do we appreciate the comments about women smelling like blood? That's pretty repulsive and quite insulting.

So agreed with you.... Immigrating to the US is a big dream for a lot of people out there, and such interview processes should not be trivialized or downplayed.

Agreed. The comment about the CO's breasts shows the lack of respect for women and general inappropriateness that, I think, we've all grown to expect from Zagray.
Zagray, while I've tried to be supportive of you, I can see that you really aren't taking this visa seriously. Not only that, I don't feel you take your relationship very seriously either. But it's your life and if your fiancée finds your egotism and misogynous ways charming, well I can't say that I pity her for how this will all play out.

    Zagray,
I guess the lesson well learned here is your poor fiance that you claim to love and miss while having the nerves to say you were "looking at the CO's breast" I hope she finds a man to love her and not a man who is a womanizer. You have showed your true colors here today and I hope others don't find your topic cute and funny.
That was your interview by the way...... Don't expect another one

After the NOA2, it's different for everyone. It depends on how busy your consulate is.
Do not make any travel arrangements until your fiance has her visa in hand.

Hey Guys, I wonder when y'all will stop poking into other peoples mess. We have given the lady appropriate advise. It is left for to take it or leave it. Do not help her end a relationship here. By the way, whats the issue with the fact the "he is Nigerian" as if Ghanians are not guilty of fraud as well. When you come to a forum, such as this please learn not to generalize. cos i am Nigeria too.

Even if he can get it done, $800 is cheaper than the $875 that we paid and she had to go to Abuja.
Is it right, is it proper, was I scammed? The answer is an individual choice but I just want to get my baby out of there so that we can get on with our lives. I consider it as part of the total cost of immigration. 50 years from now when yah all are rocking on the porch watching the Grand kids play, will you remember that money? Focus on the long term goal.
Additionally, don't get discouraged by those that are confusing renewals/reissues with corrections. They are different animals and the cost varies.
IMHO, the important thing is not the money (deduct that from your Fiance side of the monthly hobby spending), but to make sure that this is only a one time deal and that he gets a genuine passport.
One more thing, be wary of advice on the web, including mine. Even though most mean well and their posts may come from a well meaning place, but remember that there is a preset suspicion on Nigerians at large, especially on VJ.
Good luck to you Guys and please tell him to be careful on the trip to Abuja. I was more frantic about the dangers of the trip more than the money actually.

Agreed. My husband has never asked me for a dime and takes care of all of my expenses when I am in Nigeria. We do not send money back and forth. With that being said, I know for a fact other Nigerian's try to get over on my husband all the time. I can't tell you how many times he has went for something as simple as phone records, had to "MONETARILY TIP" all the workers for information, only to be sent away and asked to come back the following Tuesday, to do it all over again....including tipping again. It finally came down to him having to go to court, get an affidavit to retrieve his phone records...in order for him to get them three months later and THEN only received three months worth, but was waiting for six months of records (that's how long they had sent him back and forth).
Let's see what else did he need, oh the Police Report...yeah, they wanted =N= 20,000 for that! Yes, the "official office" wanted that amount. I saw others here on VJ getting theirs for =N= 3,000 to =N= 5,000. My husband still ended up paying =N= 8,000 and they told him the additional was for "quick processing". There was nothing quicker about the processing, he had been there tipping away for three days.
I don't care how customary you think that is...that is call FRAUD, SCAMMING...DECEIT.
So I truly don't believe her husband is trying to scam her, I believe his so called "friends" are trying their customary hand at getting some money at the expense of his wife. Either way, they seem to have a very open communication about what is going on and they are learning, just my husband and I have, what is considered normal there...is not considered normal here. One thing that is normal here is...Wives and Husbands work together and "help" each other, usually financially. So if she is helping her husband, that should be their choice...it's their marriage.
Good luck to both of you and God bless!

Whatever you may say will not change anything about this lady and her spouse and she didn't complain to anybody. If there is a country that is clean from fraud, drugs and all, show me,that must be heaven. Be constructive with you replies and not pass all the judgement on people you dont even know anything about. Cos one person scammed makes all Nigerian men scammers when they talk about money, cool story. Respect people's marriages/relationships and its a 3 fold chord, you are not the 3rd person are you?
