Fiance's visa was approved! =D I won't get to talk to him till tomorrow to hear how it all went, but he sent me a text to tell me the visa was issued. ^^
I was expecting this to drag into September, but that early interview date really pushed us ahead. I think it's just starting to hit me that he could be here in a few weeks. =D He's got a shipping company lined up for his stuff, found some free crates to use, and just has to pick them up and get his things packed. That should be done by the time the visa arrives. Then it's just a matter of getting the plane ticket, visiting a few relatives, and he'll be here!

If I could afford a plane ticket out there, I would have been there long before this point, lol. I'm getting desperate. But we're trying to save all our money for AOS and moving, and other expenses we'll have to deal with. I'd love to take another trip to Australia, and I know I will at some point down the road to visit his family again. Some of them are coming for the wedding though. =) That should be interesting. His mom is staying at my grandpa's house just across the yard. I have a feeling she's going to be stuck watching a million home videos. =P We'll have to keep rescuing her and taking her places.
I know what you mean about Darling Harbor and the accent! Although, I just love that accent no matter what they say, lol.
You're hoping for September for the warm weather, and my fiance is hoping to be out of there BEFORE the heat starts. He likes the cold better.

I wonder if anyone has ever called so much that they start recognizing all the operators. =P

"TAMMY! You told me NVC should have my case the following Monday. It's been TWO Mondays since I talked to you last! What's going on???"
"... Sir, I need your receipt number."
"*sigh* It's Bob. Really, you guys are like family now. I've had to call so much you should have my receipt number on your Copy/Paste button. I can't believe you don't remember me. That hurts, Tammy. )="
"Sir, you really need to stop calling here."
"Do you have my case yet?"
"No."
"Okay, then I will talk to you tomorrow. Goodbye Tammy!"
"NVC, this is Ron-"
"Ronny! It's Bob. Do you have my case yet?"
"We have your case."
"YOU DO?!! YES!! This is great! You have to tell Sandra and Tammy for me! Wait, never mind. I'll just tell them myself when I call back in two hours to check if I have a case number. Talk to you later Ron!"

Just got the NOA2 text at 1 AM tonight! =D Long wait for approval (170 days), but it's finally over! At least, this specific wait is over. More waiting to come. BUT, at least I can finally move forward now and make some progress!
I hope anyone else from December whose still waiting gets their NOA2 soon! It's so horrible to be stuck in that 5 month limbo, especially when it's gone beyond the 5 months. >_<

I actually got my NOA2 last night after I posted here. But as Harpa Timsah says, there's still a lot more waiting/steps to come now. It just feels good to finally be able to move past THIS part. ^^;
You might get lucky and go faster, or you might get unlucky and take longer. The best thing is to prepare for the worst and be pleasantly surprised if it ends up sooner than you expected. I went into this process knowing it would likely be 7 to 8 months (or more) from start to finish. If he gets the visa before that, then hooray! If it takes a little longer, then it won't surprise me. I'm not gonna lie, the wait is torture. But after that first month or so, you kinda fall into the rhythm of it and it gets a little easier. Just hang in there and try not to hope for numbers/times/approvals that are sooner than the average. Best case scenario you make the average, worst case you go a bit over it. Getting some miraculous 3 month approval is like winning the lottery. Sure it might be POSSIBLE, but would you base your future around winning the lottery?

And I know what a very long journey that plane ride is from Australia. x_x But I can imagine how exciting it must be to be so close to finally being together again. =)
