OZ62 got a reaction from vocal in AOS from K1 visa processed at NBC. How long does it take?
Found this info while waiting in "Limbo"
    NBC Processing Times: USCIS

    http://immigration-lawyer.com/info/nbc-processing-times-uscis/

The USCIS National Benefits Center serves a unique role within USCIS as part of the Field Operations Directorate. This USCIS Service Center was founded in 2001 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and was originally called the Missouri Service Center. This is why NBC receipt notices begin with the letters “MSC.” The primary mission of the NBC is to prepare immigration applications for adjudications that require an interview at a USCIS Field Office. Preparing such an application requires considerable time and effort, including conducting background and security checks and reviewing the evidence an applicant submits to support eligibility for a particular immigration benefit.

    NBC Processing Times
NBC Processing Times is a bit of a misnomer in some cases, as NBC does not determine processing times for I-485 and N-400 applications, which constitute the majority of the NBC’s workload. NBC does not determine processing times for those case types because NBC does not conduct final adjudication of those cases–a USCIS Local Field Office does. So each Local USCIS Field Office determines processing times for Form I-485 and Form N-400 applications. For processing times on N-400 and I-485 applications, please check local USCIS Field Office processing times

    NBC Workload and Procedure
The NBC’s largest workload is Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (the final step in the Green Card process for those who are not filing for Immigrant Visa Processing at a US Consulate overseas), and the Form N-400 Application for Naturalization. These two applications are estimated to reach well over a million cases in FY-2012. In the Form I-485 process, an applicant must provide all initial evidence before s/he can be scheduled for interview at a local USCIS Field Office. If evidence is missing, the NBC will issue a Request for Evidence (RFE). An RFE places a hold on the I-485 application, as well as the associated applications filed with it (for example, Form I-130, Form I-765, Form I-131) until NBC receives the missing initial evidence. Missing evidence will not delay N-400 processing at the NBC. But if the missing evidence is not provided at the time of the N-400 naturalization interview in the local USCIS Field Office, the adjudication of the N-400 may be delayed, or the N-400 may be denied.
So you want to know the processing time? Find out the processing date for your local office. This is the same office you will be sent for "Biometrics". I called USCIS... I wrote the to DHS Ombudsman... and this is what I was told. Check the local office. Local Office are the ones that approve I-485...."NOT" NBC...
K1 AOS without an interview can take up to a year. In my case, 10 Months...
AOS with an interview are quick...

I read this at an Immigration website. It was written by an Immigration Lawyer:

    Contacting NBC
If you need to contact NBC regarding your case, please call the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283. The representative taking your call will send an electronic message to NBC that will be answered within 15 days. Expedite requests, for certain applications, are answered within 5 days.

    ---
    My Take
For what I have read, the no-interview applications sit at NBC until the field office gets around to it to complete the job or do the final adjudication. If you have not received an RFE, which happens shortly, such as within a month after submitting the package or have been designated for an interview, your best bet is that your stuff is at a nice dusty cabinet at NBC. Calling ain't going to make a difference, because everyone is being told the same thing, "Wait". There are folks here at VisaJourney who are at the 11 month waiting.

"NBC does not determine processing times for I-485 and N-400 applications, which constitute the majority of the NBC’s workload. For one thing, there are a lot more people waiting for their results that have submitted their application way before you. If you have not kept up with the current issues, there are government cutbacks, furloughs are coming, that is, government workers are going to be working 4 days out of the week until September. Money is very tight now at the government level, no one wants to spend money. All you are going to get is the normal, wait until they get to you... and can take up to a year.... Best to just kick back and enjoy life, enjoy the time that you have together, and don't pay attention to the wait, because, like all of us.... We have to wait.... and again, later when removing conditions and that can also take about a year..
I submitted my paperwork before you and I have friends that have submitted theirs before me and they are still waiting... Congressman ain't going to do much for you....

OZ62 got a reaction from TBoneTX in AOS three months over normal processing time
Remember, Thanks to our glorious president, there are government cutbacks and this is affecting the approval process. For what it looks, furloughs are cutting people's weekly days to 4 rather than 5 and people are being let go. Also, there is a stop on hiring new employees. So now the waiting is now longer!
Oh, yeah, no more tours of the White House, but our president can travel to see a golf game.

Pasado Judicial is a screen capture of the DAS website certificate at: http://antecedentes.policia.gov.co:7003/WebJudicial/index.xhtml
They asked for a copy of the Appointment Confirmation - this was shown after paying online the MRV fee.
Medical exam was a thin green sealed envelope.
The rolled up envelope that has the Laboratory's address does not need to be brought to the interview. These are the Beneficiary's X-Rays.

Get a nice place in South Beach, Forida. In the Doral and Kendall area are lots of Colombian restaurants and people. Go to South Beach for a great beach. Walk the beach and lots to do at night in Miami Beach. Just about everywhere, you can speak spanish. Or go to Key West... great beach.... great atmosphere... but a little more expensive. Think about it... As long as both of you are together anywhere in the world should be great! You can be very romantic in your own place!
