Hello All,
DS 230 has part 1 and part 2. Does my fiance have to mail both parts to the consulate or just part 1?
Also the latest form from NVC site has an expiration date of 03/31/2012. How long do they normally take to update the site with the new form? or can i use the expired form?
Pls advise
Hi. Yes, both parts of the DS-230 should be mailed in. Be sure to sign Part 1, and be sure NOT TO SIGN Part 2.
As for the expiration dates on the forms, here's a link to an answer to that question: Expiration Date. I think you just need to make sure that you have the most up-to-date form available from the NVC website.
Blessings!

After a 15 minute wait for NVC, operator Aiden took my USCIS receipt #, then without me saying anything, he began by asking for beneficiary's name and DOB (so I thought, hmm, that's new) then my name and DOB and finally both email addresses... Then I asked if there was a case # and IIN available and I got a yes... FINALLY!!! Woot woot!!!
Yay!!!

Looks like you figured out that multiquote
I'm now a multiquoting Ninja!

I finally got my case number, IIN and BIN. Going to send of the choice of agent email now. Finally something is happening now.
CONGRATS! Doesn't it feel GREAT to be able to update your timeline & signature?
So I finally got through and was told the second week of the month bla bla bla
So I told the person who answered that I knew that wasn't so cause I knew people who got their interview date last week. She then admittided that it wasn't exactly how the interviews are set but she did say that during the second week of the month they updated the embassies available time slots for the upcoming month and start to book them. So in april they will book interviews for may. Some embassies might have more open time slots one month because they might have fewer fiancee visa interviews and they will then release more slots to the nvc during the month and not just the second week...
At least I got some kind of explanation, if it's true or not I don't know.. Has anyone else been givven this explanation?
Well at least that's a clarification so we can better understand what's going on...
Well sent of the choice of agent email and also logged in for the 1st time.
 When hubby comes back from training I can tell him the good news. I'm a military wifey not canadian like you guys.
I'll join you in the happy dance

Well, you just click the 'Multi Quote' button under which posts you want to reply to. Once you've got them all clicked (they turn a different color), then you click the 'Add Reply' button at the bottom of the page, underneath the last post of that page. It'll then bring you to the editor, as if you hit reply, but it'll have all the quotes.
Thanks!
WHAAAAAAAAAAT !
April already on 24 pages !
So i guess, unfinished cases from March now we should post here or in March thread?
Welcome to April!
Don't worry you'll get it soon. Just be grateful you're not going through Ghana. The wait can be up to a year to get a date assigned from CC
Wow... One YEAR???!!! That's crazy...
Don't worry it doesn't apply to typical case. NVC gave Checklist for not having PCC from passport office. My situation is that it does not apply to my beneficiary since the beneficiary is a non-indian, residing in India, so the beneficiary does not have Indian Passport, only "Identity card" so therefore only PCC given is by Local district Police Station to the beneficiary. So we emailed NVC with explanation and they are still reviewing it.
Read here: http://travel.state....L-0001-1112.pdf
"Non-Indian immigrant visa applicants residing in India should obtain police certificates from the district police station serving their area of residence."
The annoying part of all this is that this Checklist should not have come up because if the reviewer actually paid attention, they would have realized this, We even put a special note on the local PCC. Now looks like this unnecessary checklist will cost us extra 2 weeks of delay.
That's annoying... But I hope you'll be over that hurdle real soon!

OK, can someone please explain HOW multi quote works?

If his cuteness factor were raised any higher, no one could stand to look at him! I included a link to see his cuteness!
He's adorable!!! Awwwww!!!

Moving over to April thread. Hoping for a case complete this week!
Just something to make you all laugh...
This whole process is getting to be so much that last night I had a dream that we got a checklist from NVC. The checklist was because we didn't include how long my husband's steps are when he walks. NVC wanted his walking stride measured in feet and inches.
I woke up laughing.....

Today is the morning of the second and we are already on page 14? Reading all the pages, it seems like watching The View.
I am hoping to find out that the NVC received my case already I don't know when to expect the case number though.
...but SO much more entertaining... and productive... than The View!
-
Well...I just did...lady says case just got there today...call back in couple of weeks for case #...
OK... so you're calling them tomorrow or Wednesday, right?
-
Has NVC received yet your AOS ?
They'll get it in the mail today.
-
Lol COngratulations ,. you are funny
Thanks... and good morning!

So I just got an email from NVC, responding to my DS-3032 email... but the email said "To continue processing your immigrant visa case, you will need to designate an agent by completing form DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent)..."
Since that was my 2nd DS-3032 email, I was DISTRESSED! I called and Beau the agent responded. Beau told me "Ma'am, I don't know why they sent you that email, because we have your petitioner listed as your agent."
Me: "Really? Are you sure? So you have my petitioner designated as my agent?"
Beau: "Yes ma'am."
Me: "So all I'm waiting on now is for you guys to invoice me for the IV application?"
Beau: "Yes ma'am... you're good!"
Me: "Thank you SO much! 'Cuz you KNOW I'd be emailing this thing a 3rd time, right
Beau: (laughing) "Yes ma'am, but you're good to go."
Yay! Of course, I didn't know what to do first: call hubby, report here on this forum, or update my timeline! After I stopped jumping up and down I called the hubby.

OK, so has anyone started calling the NVC yet? It's 7:38 Eastern time!

Happy Sunday to you too! Just got home from church....found out that Friday's going to be busy! My worship team is on Friday AND Sunday...and the Good Friday service ends just at the same time I need to go pick up Travis from the airport. Hooray!
What instruments do you play?
Yup, Easter is a busy time for church musicians and singers!
I sing primarily, and play keyboard (a bit). Hubby plays keyboards, bass, cornet...

Government fees decreasing??? What fevered dream be this?!?
Also...
T-Minus 17 days and counting...

Oops, just saw that Saylin had already answered your question, an so much better than I! Oops.
Hi JNEKG! Re your 1st question, just keep calling the NVC every day or as often as you can. They will keep giving you the standard line until someone sees that your case # has been assigned. We got our case # about 2 days after we were told to call back in 10 days.
Re your 2nd question: the IV fee of $404 actually is $330 for the application, and a $74 security fee (or something like that). Check it out on the NVC website here: Fees for Visa Services
Blessings!
Very cool...
Really cool... My husband and I are both Christians and musicians as well, and involved in worship ministry... he's at church right now and I'm watching the live broadcast (when I'm not here posting lol) because I'm here in JA having to miss church. #HappySunday!

Hi everyone,
I am now part of this group. Waiting for my paperwork to be received at NVC so they can issue a case number. I called NVC one week after my NOA2 but got the standard line of call back in 20 business days. I am sure he didn't look on the system. This prompts my question, what do you say when you call the NVC to chase your case number? As soon as the operator heard I had an NOA2 date on 22nd March he didn't bother entering my reciept number into the system.
Also, Laure thanks for posting about the change in fees but I cannot work out what that $330 USD fee is for. I thought I had two fees left to pay, AOS fee of $88 and IV fee of $404. Can you shed some light?
Thanks

You should get DS-3032 acceptance sometime early next week. Then IV bill will be invoiced shortly afterwards. You should be able to mail out your IV package by next Friday, getting a CC the week after, so you should be done with NVC by April 13, if no checklists.
Thanks Saylin! That's what I'm hoping for. Like others have said, Petitioner and I have never before been so eager to pay a bill!
-
Still patiently (sort of) waiting on DS-3032 acceptance and praying for a CC in April. Trying not to be anxious... but calling NVC bright & early on Monday morning.
-
Have you guys seen this yet? They're revising the IV fees... they're going DOWN by like $100 next month.
http://www.state.gov...2/03/187114.htm
This is starting to feel like a massive conspiracy to kick us when we're down.
All of a sudden I'm conflicted... do I really want my IV invoice generated RIGHT now??? LOL. Wow. This is great news for future filers, though.
-
Try not to be too anxious. The timeline for CSC has been all over the place... even up to 6 months. Try to channel the anxiety into preparing all the documents etc. you'll be needing for the next phases of the journey. I find that he USCIS, NVC & VisaJourney websites - and especially the VJ guides - are EXTREMELY helpful. All the best with your journey!
-
SO thankful for VisaJourney and this GREAT NVC filers forum... Having all this information and clarification makes the W.A.I.T. easier to endure! Thanks everyone who's been sharing, advising and venting!

Maybe all the NVC activity on my case last week has contributed to my feeling really impatient, but I feel like it's taking a really L - O - N - G time to generate my IV bill! Lord, grant me patience and peace...
