  1. Hi lady, when was the last time you called NVC?

Hey Rujby! Hubby and I last called them last week Thursday. As usual I've forgotten the name of the operator I spoke with, but she was LAUGHING that we call them EVERY day. So I told Hubby to lay off for a minute... since they do email the interview date pretty soon after it's scheduled. Meaning, we'll probably just call them once or twice a week now.

There shall be case numbers assigned this week, DS-3032s accepted, bills invoiced and appearing as PAID, case completes, and interview dates assigned! yes.gif

    AMEN!

  2. Hello all. My wife recently got her I-130 petition approved and am trying to get everything ready for the next phase. Is the LingChe Shortcut still 100% up to date? I have heard great things about it, and I intend to follow it word for word, but is there anything that might have changed since 2008, when it was written? Or is it still currently correct and valid and a good resource for us to use? I just don't want to make any mistakes in the NVC process  Thanks in advance for any input

Hi! Congrats on the approval. The LingChe shortcut still works but there have been a few changes in the process.

    • There is no longer an Automated Voice Response (AVR) system at the NVC. So on Mon-Fri you'll get an operator, and on weekends - Sat-Sun - you won't be able to get any information.
    • You don't need to generate a bar code and mail your DS-3032 Choice of Agent Form. Instead, as soon as you get your Case # and Invoice #, just go ahead and email the DS-3032 using the template linked here.
    • When you've paid your AOS and IV application invoices and the online status shows paid, you can print the barcode cover sheet from the portal to send in with those applications. No need to generate a barcode.

Visit this thread and read the first 2 posts - they'll help you get through NVC: NVC Filers - April 2012

    All the best!

  3. For the certified birth certificate is that just a regular copy of your birth paper or do i have to go through a special process to get one tank you i am at the stage of getting my paper work ready for the ds 230

You need to get a CERTIFIED COPY of your birth certificate from the Registrar General's Department (here's a link to the Forms page on their website). When you're sending in your DS-230 packet to NVC, include that certified copy of your birth certificate PLUS a photocopy. If you don't already have your birth certificate, apply for as many copies as you can afford NOW. The RGD is very, very, VERY slow and inefficient!

  4. My first order of business will be making sure their websites work in ALL browsers, not just Internet Explorer headbonk.gif

Do you know, we paid our IV fee using Safari (Mac OS) and had NO problems? And I was halfway through the transaction when I remembered that their system is supposed to be IE-exclusive. Go figure!

For all of my fellow VJ Friends currently in the process of "waiting for something" cheer up and remember that this entire process is a "WAITING GAME" ... you are either waiting for you NOA2, your NVC case # ,acceptance of DS-3032, AOS or IV Bill, Case review, Case Close, Assignment of Interview Date, or Waiting for the actual Interview Date, OR Waiting for POE.

So at any freaking stage you're always waiting for something, so if you think of this as part of the process and prepare yourself mentally to "Wait" you could save yourself some extra gray hair and anxiety along the way :girlwerewolf2xn:

Keep it up! It will be over before you know it ...

    Thanks for the perspective!

If DoS operator Chris was a little less macho sounding, I'd hug him! The embassy is processing my case - HOORAY!!! :D He confirmed that Montreal has received it. Guess that's what pending meant this morning... :D

    YAY for you!

  Breaking news, "CASE COMPLETE AT NVC"!!!

I'm so happy, Cant wait to tell my wife when she wakes up. Time to request Expedite for May Interview

    Woohoo!!!! Congrats!!!

Just got my NVC case number assigned!!!

    Yay!!!! You're on your way!

News Flash, News Flash: CASE FINALLY COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WHOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!

Ain't that a GREAT feeling???!!! Congrats!

Oh yay! I just called and I do have a case # assigned and an IIN! Gave them the email for me and my husband so I'm so happy now :)

    Good for you!

  5. Good morning people, just got off the phone with NVC. They say for Haiti, there is no more date available for May interview, they all have been assigned. However, as my expedite request is under review, they say if the embassy approve it i will have a May one but if not i will have to wait the second week of May to call for a June interview. The final decision is in God's Hand

From a Regulaar operator, and she said when you make an expedite request they just forward your request to the embassy not the whole Casefile. The whole case is forwarded to the embassy only if the expedite is approved

Hey Rujby! You've been on the ball... Happy to see movement in your case.

Who else has case complete with the NVC but does not have an interview date yet?

I know of Rujby, bahialove, sheeshkabelle, and I'm sure there are others.

If the NVC is truly done booking May interviews and you have to wait until next month to find out your interview date are you ok with that? What if there were still May interview slots at your embassy and the NVC still does not book you an interview?

I'm traveling today so I won't be able to call the NVC until later tonight, but I would like to find out if the operators are telling people in our situation that we will have to wait until next month to get an interview date.

So I'm also waiting on an interview date - got my CC last Thursday. I travel for my work, and we're supposed to be travelling soon, so I'd be fairly distressed by a June date. I NEED the miracle of as early a May date as can happen. Praying fervently for that!

  6. Remember, Hakuna Matata!!

I've been banned from calling DoS or NVC until at least Monday. I had myself a little break down yesterday evening, and Mr. Sheeshka told me to worry about my finals for the next two weeks and NOT about his visa. I've been cut down to, two calls twice a week LOL.

He said nothing about checking my email every half hour!!

Poor guy. Does he NOT know that men can't leave ANY loopholes for their ladies to go through? Because we're GREAT at finding loopholes!!!

  7. Oh she was very nice. Well I guess my nice meter is skewed after talking to Frank last time. It was nice talking to a human.

I can imagine him telling his wife in bed that she has to wait 15 to 20 business days

    :rofl::rofl:

Here's something to get your mind of NVC and DoS and USCIS!!

My dog had to have an emergency vet appointment today. He was limping and it wasn't getting better. He just sprained his left leg, he'll be fine with some rest.

I had doc check out a spot on his skin, that I thought was just a hot spot. Well... he had lots of spots and he has dermatitis. THEY SHAVED MY DOG!!

My beautiful Sheltand Sheep Dog went from this:

    http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t373/csheeshka/photo1.jpg

To THIS!! My poor dog!! He's so ashamed of his hair cut.

    http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t373/csheeshka/551899_10150807872019283_645639282_11713763_1939142659_n.jpg

Awwwwwww. Well at least his hair will grow back... Sweet doggie.

Mrs. Frankbot: I asked you to get milk from the grocery store! Why didn't you get milk?

Frankbot: I have no record of milk in my system. Please wait 15 business days for milk to be entered in to the system. Can I help you with anything else today?

Guys, y'all are KILLING me over here!!!

  8. I really need some help. I need to know what is the best way to assemble my CR1 ORIGINAL packet. When reading the Tips it states the following:

Exception: Petitions filed at the Chicago lockbox should use paperclips when attaching supporting personal documents to forms instead of "ACCO" fasteners; staples are acceptable when attaching fees.

Can someone help guide me as to how to put the packet togather?

    Thanks :)...

    Nattie Dread..

I think you mean the I-130 packet. Here's what we did, after reading the guides here on VisaJourney:

    • We paper clipped the supporting documents together (in the same order as we outlined in our cover letter)
    • We stapled the pages of the I-130 form together
    • We stapled the check on top of the I-130 form

Then we used a jumbo paper clip to assemble the whole thing in this order (from top to bottom of the stack):

    • G-1145 Form (E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance)
    • Cover letter
    • I-130 form
    • Supporting Documents

Please note that the G--1145 and cover letter are optional.

    Hope that helps!

  9. that is good news...keep us posted

    I will good.gif

I just called NVC... Shea told me that my AOS probably has been received but was not scanned into system yet :(

I also asked why IV bills haven't been posted and she just told me that they haven't posted any invoices yet due to system issues and probably won't until early next week... so i'm not sure... if anyone else calls NVC to inquire about this then we'll have more answers from different operators... SIGH

    Wow wacko.gif

  10. I know, me too! When were you thinking of starting to call?

We tried calling earlier but hubby was on hold for a LONG time. Will try again later. I'm praying for a VERY specific range of date for the interview!

#######!!! me too!!1 i logged in but there was nothing there for me to pay :crying:NVC, why won't u take my money?!!

Sigh. I real hope everything is normalized today and EVERYBODY can pay their invoices. Progress, progress!!!

well i just call them and they said that the mebassy is reviewing our expedite request....i really hope they approve it.

    Amen to that!

  11. Hubby went with no card n got 2 shots. once u get ur interview date then schedule for the medical cuz u will need ur appointment le

    tter to bring with u.

Oh for sure Princess... I'm IMPATIENTLY waiting for the interview date. If you don't mind my asking, what's your hubby's age group and what 2 shots did he receive?

congrats on your cc. my wife will get her second hepatitis shot on monday and have medical on wed 4/18. will keep you informed..

    Okidokes!

Yes, hep b is highly recommended and mandatory for some people in the US...but, for certain age catagories it is NOT mandatory for immigration purposes. It probably should be, but unless your wife is under 18, it really wasn't necessary for visa. This is the most recent schedule of vaccines I could find on USCIS website..maybe someone else can do better, but this is what panel physicians would have received and should be following (technically): See pages 7-10

    http://www.uscis.gov...anges121509.pdf

I'm with you on this one trojam... based on my reading the shots required are age-based... but at the end of the day it's what the panel physician says/does, after all our speculating and research. I'm not seeing hep shots in the chart for my age range. I'll definitely wait for the medical to have them determine what shots I need.

  12. GRATSSS!!!!!!!!! kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif

        crowd.gif

    Congrats

Thanks everyone! That was SUCH a fantastic call. I just had this... feeling, this URGE to call NVC. OK, I know that's actually quite normal LOL. But anyway, I called and Jim answered. After giving him all the security info, I said: "I'd like to know whether you have received my DS-230 packet."

He said: "We completed your case."

I was struck dumb, so he filled in the silence: "Literally 10 seconds ago, we completed your case!"

Found my voice again. "So you mean the next step is to schedule my interview?"

And he responded that they'll schedule the interview with the embassy in Kingston and email both myself and the Petitioner.

I'm SO, SO, SO, SO thankful to the Lord. Look at my signature: my case was completed on the 1-month anniversary of it being received at NVC.

My husband says: "Hooray for VisaJourney!!!"

  13. Is it possible to order BC for children on the RGD website? If so what additional information will we need and if you know the cost? Havent done any research yet, just asking to see if anyone has gone through this...Thanks

I'd encourage you stay ON TOP of this agency. They are NOT known for their efficiency or being on time with their deliverables. Try to order the BCs well before time so you won't have to order express processing e.g. 7-days, because I can almost guarantee you it will NOT happen in 7 days. Keep the copy of your application and the receipt of your application status so that you'll have records if anything goes awry with your order.
