    A & K 42 got a reaction from Rym&J in N-400 February 2016 Filers
    Hi guys,
The interview was pretty easy, the actual time with the interviewer was about 10 minutes. He was very polite but stern. He commented on our organized our files were and said I made his life easier.
    The questions were:
-Where is the statue of Liberty
    -Who was the first president
-What movement tried to end racial discrimination
-What is one promise you make when you become a US citizen
    -Name two US holidays
-Who is the Governor of your state
I got all 6 right so he didn't ask anymore. They were pretty easy questions. As for the English portion he asked me to read who lives in the white house and the write the president lives in the white house. From the moment I arrived and left was about 30 minutes or less. I was way more stressed out than I needed to be, the only thing he took from me in terms of documents was our 2015 tax transcript since it was not ready when we filed back in February and he only looked at my green card. They said I will get a letter in the mail in a few days to find out the Oath date.

There are also I130 filers who have fake marriages.and pay the USC thousand of dollars to marry them. It appears you are begrudged at the time you need to wait for your husband. K1 filers are faced with different challenges trust me. I have been through the ringer. The process is not fair to any filers if you ask me. but to openly make a statement about false relationships with K1 filers when any relationship can be deemed as such. It took me and my husband about 7 months from beginning to end and several trips to Jamaica and being interrogated for hours in separate rooms like SPYS. so it does upset me to hear that you believe most K1's are done for false green cards. I can only speak for myself. Why did you not file for K1 if you had a problem with the wait time for I130. It is what it is. We do not make the rules, half the time they don't even know what the rules are but in any case instead of attacking the process, My suggestion is to brace the fact that your husband will be with you soon and take joy in that. Good luck to you.
Honest and true K1 filer here who rolled with the punches.

Cancel the K1, come on ETSA whenever you like, get married, return home, file spouse visa (or, depending how much time you're willing/able to stay in the US, file spouse visa then return home), continue studies, immigrate on spouse visa when ready to immigrate.
This will allow you to have a wedding that your fiance's father can attend (and you can do it sooner than August), and give you the flexibility to immigrate on a more desirable time-frame.

Hi. I am sorry to hear about what happened. I am a Filipina too. Like herself, I will have my K1 Visa too, in the very near future I hope. And soon I will be leaving my comfort zone, dear friends and loving family to be with my future husband. If Maria and I knew each other and have a close relationship, I would have convinced her not to leave. Explain to her that it's what marriage is all about. You leave your father and mother, be with your spouse and you become one. But of course it is not my place to do any of that. I could only wish she would change her mind. I wish the both of you well.

Why did you buy her a plane ticket right away? My wife when she first got here was VERY homesick and wanted to go home as well. We talked it out and I asked her to give it a couple months BEFORE she makes a decision to go home. I told her she needs to think this all out before she makes a rash decision like that. She has since got over her homesickness and loves it here in California.

These are the @#$%^ that make it hard for good people. You did nothing wrong and the hurt will pass. Be glad that this happened now rather than after you got married to him. The best thing you can do is move on and live a happy life. He will not prosper, karma will get him. I assume you are Jamaican born and it might be hard to explain to the people around you what happened but don't let anyone make you feel guilty. You took a chance on love and that's commendable. That chick probably knows nothing about you and he's just trying to make you feel bad. You have missed out on nothing but pain. Call embassy, cry, delete him and move on with your life.

So, now you want her to fly further? For one week? And then fly further back?
So, your family members are all flying to Toronto?
It's unlikely she will get a visa to the USA. It is unthinkable, to expect a pregnant woman, and one that far along, to fly that distance, twice, in one week. Jet lagged for two days at each end of her trip, uncomfortable as can be, for a week. I think you had better put your thinking cap on, and work out a feasible, sensible way to work out your problems.

Sounds like you're more about the green card rather than the marriage. Marriage first, than worry about the green card. Where are you living? How are you surviving? Are you certain that you're still married? Is he in contact with you?

how do you feel about some of your colombian friends and/or family that are denied tourist visas everyday because they are assumed to "not have ties" and will commit fraud? As long as you have your B1/B2 visa, those that struggle because some CO officer assumes they will do exactly what you did doesn't matter. It is their problem. Am I correct?

And in 18 months you didn't think of involving your congressman/senator's immigration aide to help you with this? If you paid ELIS fee and still no green card, you involve your elected representatives.

Sorry, he has not been issued a visa yet!! That is done at his local embassy, If he had a visa, your process would be COMPLETE!!! FYI, he can go all the way to his interview and still be denied the visa. Being a Spouse of an American Citizen dose not guarantee a visa either...

Believe it or not some of us have been in this VJ for over three years, actually almost four years. So trust me when I say"WE" do understand and share your frustrations. But some of us react with logic and some with emotions. Everyone is different! Remember writing a response is not the same as talking over a telephone. Others can't get a full picture of your emotional state but when all is said and done....we all understand this difficult process. Why do you think "veterans" hang around even after their VJ is over???? It is because they know it too well. No one can forget the pains, the disappointments, the waiting and the outcomes one has to go through when dealing with paperwork, letters, trips, fees, separations for a long time from loved ones, denials, more docs....etc. It is a humbling experience and painful.
Just keep a positive outlook and take one day at a time. This too shall pass.......

    AGREED!!

It's understandable that you're under stress (we've all been there), and it's not fun. However, anyone who's been on VisaJourney for more than 5 minutes knows that Ryan H's immigration information and his motivations are beyond reproach.

It would be most appropriate to respect the VJ members, who have more experience and knowledge in this visa journey even though you might think you have ALL the facts right which might not make sense to those who are more experienced. I have not heard of what you are saying either.
USCIS approves petitions doesn't give visas. Petitions then are sent to NVC for further processing. Once the petition is completed then it's forwarded to Nigeria or any country in question. The visa is ready to be issued but the CO has the final say if he does or doesn't give out the visa to the spouse or the fiance.
If you got a visa at the USCIS level? then why go through the interview process? I believe no one is trying to bring you down, it is just that this VJ can be difficult and confusing. We all have been there and done that. It is very important to keep your cool and open mind for we are here to help not make it more difficult or negative. But you have to understand that a valid point is being made here.
Best of luck to you and please keep in mind we are here to help and not judge. God bless you too! Good luck!

Yikes you did the Medical so soon? How were you able to get that done without the interview letter in Lagos? WOW. You realize you only have 6 months from that medical to get to US.
As far as how long. No one knows. Because no one knows why your case was returned. All you can do is keep calling USCIS only speak with a Tier 2 Supervisor.
Now i have to speak on the subject of the Visa you said is already issued which is impossible, That's done at embassy. USCIS is called the mis-information line for a reason.
Your DS-230 you send to NVC is the actual Immigration Visa application. If married under 2 years you will be issued a CR-1 at interview. Over 2 years IR-1.
Whoever at USCIS who told you this was either high or very very confused. Sorry
Yes, it is possible. He has been issued a visa because he is the Spouse of an American Citizen. What you get after your interview is your visa number to go along with that visa. He has a visa ready in his name but cannot travel to the US yet because he does not have the visa number and it is not yet stamped in his passport. This info came directly from USCIS"
Here's hoping USCIS returns all documents. But they aren't know to return originals of anything.
Just keep on them. God Bless.

I really don't care if you believe me or not; it doesn't make what I said any less true. I've seen it posted many times over on VJ how USCIS gives out inaccurate information over the phone; plus I've taken the time to look through all applicable laws. I also correct inaccurate information for the benefit of others who may be reading this forum.

USCIS doesn't issue visas, the task of adjudicating an actual visa application and deciding on whether or not to issue a visa is the exclusive purview of the State Department's Bureau of Consular Affairs (i.e. a Consular Officer at an Embassy or Consulate). Since you stated your information came from an agency that does not issue visas to begin with, I stand by my original statement.

Okay. If your husband being a ####### bag if perfectly fine with you then you and your marriage will survive this. If not you trying to push for a 180°on his part isn't going to work. He's highly unlikely to ever change as Gyalis mentality is highly praised in Ja.
