  1. You could try using your reference id number (found on the applicant summary page online) and see if dhl can locate anything that way.

They had asked me to verify that number when they called me yesterday to arrange for delivery to my house. Hope that helps! Fingers crossed for you!

  2. Yup, I would ask him to leave the phone in his hotel room. I recently had my interview there, and thanks to VJ knew not to carry any electronics , bags, or food through. They are quite particular about it. Even if by chance they do let him leave the phone at the front desk, they will say that they can't take responsibility for it. Not sure it's worth the hassle...especially since he's taking a cab to the consulate, it may be best to just carry the docs, get it all done smoothly and call you as soon as he can after...

  3. Good luck!! I just finished my interview on Monday...it was much easier than I expected. One question that they asked me...which caught me off guard a bit was "what made you decide you wanted to marry an American?" I kinda just laughed and said, I don't think it was specific to marrying an American but more so marrying "my fiancé's name". That surprised me a little...though we were kidding around with the interviewer so I don't think it was a very serious question.

I got approved btw! Good luck again!!

  4. Nah, they were definitely closed on Friday. Saw it written on their door when I was there for my interview on Monday.

Only 2 days down (barely!) and I'm already anxious. I can only imagine how you're feeling tracy&david!!

  5. The doc told me it would be the day after I fax the info. In my case, I had the medical today, will probably get the shot over the weekend, and fax on mon so he said it would be ready tues.

But, that's also because my interview isn't till the 28th. I think they could do same day maybe (morning fax, afternoon pick up) if it's super urgent. They asked my interview date and then had said not to worry, so whenever I get it to them is fine...

  6. So, I just finished my medical...they don't do the flu shot at the medical. You either need to have gotten it before, or you need to get it from your doctor/walk-in clinic and fax them proof later.

They will not issue the medical until this proof has been given. I thought I could get the shot at the medical, but I guess not. So, I'll need to get it and send them proof...then I'll get my medical ?

  7. Oh! That makes sense. Well I can certainly prove that I am here legally, living and working :)

I'm at 8am. Not sure if you're already doing this, but I am carrying a letter of employment from my employer that states my salary and the date I started working with them. I'm also carrying my SIN card and a copy. None of it was asked for, but I'm taking extra stuff just as precaution...

  8. Thanks to both of you! Krikit, I sure hope some others share their past experience too. Thanks :)

I too have my interview on nov 28. My fiance and I have enough proof of our relationship so I will be carrying that with me. He will be at the interview as well so I'm assuming that may help.

Reymets10- So has your fiancé applied for the PR in canada? Is that how she's able to do the process from here?

I'm a legal PR here, working and all. However my PR card is being renewed at this time which is really why I'm concerned. I have my landing document but in case there's anything else I can carry with me to help at the interview in this regard, I'd rather do that.' I've mentioned it on a different post before, and haven't had too much luck with direct responses.

  9. Hi! I'm a permanent resident in Canada and I'm just wondering if there are any others in this forum.

Curious if any extra paperwork/questions were asked at the interview? I hear its quite common to go into AP after the interview in Montreal if you were born outside Canada. I was born outside, but don't have a common name. My interview is nov 28 and I'm just trying to be as prepared as possible.

Any thoughts/feedback would be great! :)

  10. Oh yes, of course. I don't think I asked my question correctly. I do have proof of my status in Canada...I'm basically wondering if my original landing document is sufficient for the interview since my resident card is being renewed?

They had also asked me for proof of status prior to packet 3 and I had sent them copies of my document and my expired card explaining the situation. Just curious if I'll experience issues with this at the interview, even though they were given copies of the docs I'm using earlier...

  11. That's wonderful; hopefully you're smoothly on your way to getting the visa in the mail soon!

I'm a permanent resident here in Canada...wondering if you know whether they ask for that card eyre at the interview. I have proof of my status here, but my actual card is being renewed so i probably won't have that at the interview. That's another whole waiting process!

Any idea based on your experience?
