Jollibee in Mira Mesa is now closed, I was just in the neighborhood 2 weeks ago. The one is in National City, I'm not sure.

USC are allowed to join the beneficiary during the interview at USEM. In most cases, the CO will chat more with the USC than the applicants.

10 days is really pushing it but it's doable if you "know someone, who knows someone" that could speed things up for you.

The Immigrant Visa Unit only accepts K visa applicants (K1, K2, K3, and K4) who have completed DS-156, DS-156K (for K1 applicants only), DS-157, and DS-230 application forms. Application forms are available athttp://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3224.html and should be completed in advance of the appointment. Any K applicant without completed application forms who appears for an interview will be referred to nearby internet cafés to complete the application forms. For your convenience, applicants who can complete the forms and return to the Embassy by 10:00 am will still be interviewed that same day. Also, K1 visa applicants don't have Invoice ID Number but only NVC number and you need to enter both NVC case number and IID number at the log in page.
What do I need to complete and submit forms online?
You must have:

DS-230 (PART I) APPLICATION FOR IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION. Each applicant must submit one (1) completed copy of this form (Part II is not required).

Although it didn't say it's must or required, it stated that 'You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134.' Item N, page 3 of 9. It was asked when Mike had his interview and so I say, better have it ready than be sorry.

You'll get the visa as early as 3 business days but could take up to 2 weeks depending on your pick up or delivery location.
Congrats on the approval and your soon to be baby! You're getting close to having the baby so if you get the visa in a week, I doubt they'll let you take the flight to US with your condition

Biometrics appointment letter was received 2 weeks from date of filing. It was scheduled for Feb but we walked in after few days we've received the letter and done with it in 15 minutes tops. 2 weeks after biometrics, we received Interview Appointment letter
Check with your local office if they take walk-ins

Hmm. Interesting point QueenofBlades! Thanks to you and Lost_at_sea for the advice. I'm pretty sure it's a high possibility if my past experiences ahve anything to do with it. I was stunned when Denmark wouldnt marry us because of the Civil Union.
If I pursue CR-1, I can still petition for an exception in Dublin. I looked on the USCIS site and it mentions what types they accept (medical emergency, threats of violence) but it also say that it will consider other exceptions. So I'm hoping for the other! Although hearing that no one has had Consulate Meeting in Ireland since the law changed does hurt.
I will talk with the other half this evening when she gets off work. Here is another question that perhaps someone can help with that will aid in our decision on which one to pursue.
If I start the process in Ireland, do I have to stay in Ireland until complete?
Or should I start the process in the States?
And have people had experiences where their spouses were denied entry into the US while the application is in process? (Provided the evidence of ties to Ireland is provided?)
Thanks again. It's very helpful. There is alot of information out there currently for the gays now that DOMA is overturned, but it is mostly geared towards US Citizens who chose to live in the US and be seperate from their partner.

That's fine. Just be reminded that once you're visa is approved, the validity of it ties to the day you've taken your medical exam (6 months after) and not the interview date.

But it's not denied. You shouldn't refile unless it is denied. You'd be best off not worrying what to do next until you see how your current case turns out.
K1 and CR-1 can take the same amount of time, in the end. There's not a huge amount of difference in the two, time wise.

People get GCs without interview, but NEVER before biometrics.
Biometrics is a critical precursor to launching a background check with the FBI and other criminal databases. It is impossible to get a GC without biometrics.
