1 hour is fine. Before I moved to the US, I had no car in the UK and had to travel 2 hours to work on public transport , and 2 hours back. That added up to 4 hours travel a day in total, plus 9 hours of work on top. I also had to catch 3 separate buses to work and 3 separate buses back. Include the walking in between each bus stop, plus the wait for late buses or buses that never turned up at all, then add in a large dose of unpredictable British weather and I had it tough!!! I did that for 3 years.
1 hour in a car sounds like heaven to me

I think it should be ok. I would tend to think that they go by the date they receive it, or even by the NOA receipt date (sometimes a few days after they actually receive it).

According to the I-693 instructions, an I-693 is not required for K-1'ers if they are filing their AOS within one year, they don't have a Class A medical condition, and their DS-3025 has been filled out correctly.
Also, those who have already received the age-appropriate vaccinations, and where there hasn't been enough time between a first vaccination and it's second dose, will be waived by the USCIS.
However, some people who are correctly submitting only the DS-3025 are getting an RFE. So, better safe than sorry...have a Civil Surgeon transcribe your DS-3025 onto an I-693.

A six month pregnancy cannot be terminated. If it is done, than it is really a case of murder. I am sure in any country a mother can abandon her child. Why don't the mother just hand the child over to the natural father and move on with her life.
What this woman needs to think about is what will her life be like after she has made all of these bad decisions.

You are in the progress report forum. This is where people, you know, post their progress. Simply ignore it if you don't like it, but everyone has the right to celebrate when they get their petition approved or have their visa granted. Everyone here is after the same goal.

This was uncalled for. There were a lot of people who wrote about disappointment about how slow things are going at vsc. It's only natural that when they get approved, either it's at vsc or csc, they should express their happiness with others.
And have respect for what? Nobody died. They are all getting there, slower or faster.
So, no need for this thread, in my opinion.
    Cheers!

I think there is an inherent risk in trying to make this work, at least in the short term and definitely with regards to the whole immigration issue. Nobody will confirm there is no risk for you. This is definitely not a situation that happens every day and seeking anecdotal evidence from strangers isn't likely to yield you anything firm to go on.
If you want to pursue this, I recommend seeking some kind of legal advice.
Are you not concerned that she's only into you because she wants to stay in the US and you represent a willing party to help that dream continue for her?

She can only get a green card through her husband who filed the K-1 for her.
It would be fraud for her to get a green card at this point as she no longer has a bona fide marriage.
She needs to get a divorce.
    She needs to return home.
You need to file for a K-1 fiancée visa.
There is no way for her to become legal by staying and marrying you. She can only become legal through her K-1 petitioner husband.

    I hate giving relationship advise..
But only you know what kind of person he really is and your true reasons for questioning things.. The effort and money you put in, is nothing compared to the potential hardship you could face in a relationship with an abusive partner..
THINK IT THROUGH, dont let the lost money and time factor into your decision.. it is completely about your safety and how you feel about this guy..

You and only you, know how your BF is...
It's very interesting that he hasn't had his interview yet, and is acting that way.. Seems pretty arrogant..
The fact is; love is blind, nobody can say anything that you dont already know.. Just remember, if he gets here and you submit the I864 (Affidavit of Support) on his behalf, you're stuck no matter what.. Ask yourself if you feel confident enough in him to sign up for that kind of responsibilty potentially for the rest of your life..
Put asside the heebee jeebees and the butterflies and the romantic memories and think clearly for a bit, then be honest with yourself and make a descission and stick to it..
You gotta be carefull with someone that arrogant at this stage of the game..

You got a cashier's check, which you have to pay for up front. The bank takes that money out of your account, and writes the check for USCIS. The funds are certified - you already paid.
You won't be able to know when it was cashed. That's why people suggest using a personal check instead of a cashier's check. You might be able to call the bank and check if it was cashed, but otherwise you wait.

YJPlove reacted to dukeandduchess in Confusion about SSN & K-1, Got Denied
When you first applied you used the K1 visa as your "proof of legal status", which was invalidated when you got married (once you get married the K1 visa is gone). Then they told you to use the I94, which was close to expiring.
The way to get an SSN when entering as a K1 is either:
    A) before getting married using the K1 visa OR I94
    B) after getting married using a valid I94 (more than 1 day of validity)
** This is information I got from the SSN office, who told me my I94 was expired when I tried applying in my married name. I'm not sure if the part about the I94 is accurate or not because it's hearsay**
So yes, now you need to wait until you file for AOS. I had a similar problem with my SSN. I applied and received an SSN in my maiden name prior to our marriage. I then tried to change my SSN to my married name (after both my K1 visa and I94 expired) and they denied it because I do not have proof of legal status.
Unfortunately you kind of got screwed over :/

When you do get your NOA1 (and this could take a 1-4 weeks from the date you filed), you will have a receipt number that begins with either EAC(Vermont Service Center) or WAC(California Service Center). Once you have created your account with this receipt number from the link abner137 has provided, you will see the status of your case. You can toggle the settings in your account and request email and text notifications for anything further. More than likely, this means you won't receive any notification for roughly 5-7 months. You have a long journey ahead so better strap yourself in and take this wonderful lesson in patience. NOA2 is just the beginning. Good luck!

I don't believe they will expedite your case at all. It was a bad incident of course, but it's not regarding a person or group of people threatening your physical well being on a daily basis to the point you need to get out of your Country otherwise she he will kill you. The danger must subsist.
