Shoot Em Straight got a reaction from Cathi in Calling my MENA peeps
Glad you asked...Husband finally landed a job and has been very hard at work since the summer. They are good to him and appreciate his good work ethics. He just got a raise in his hourly pay and health ins.
He bought his own car and enjoys his independance...... finally.
It was a long two years of adjustments but all is good now. Just like when awaiting the visa, we stayed strong together and got through the harder times. And there were A LOT of challenges after he arrived here.
    We also are removing conditions.
Looking back to the beginning of this journey....I am so grateful to be out of the unknown and waiting.
Good Luck to those still waiting.

You don't know what your "red flags" are and there are far more than you believe. It's not just the age difference, the secrecy from your family, the religious differences, and the pile you already know about.
But you keep on, knowing everything, and trying to find work-arounds. Let us know how that works out for you.

Shoot Em Straight reacted to Ismael&Blair in How do I answer their age difference question/s ?
First of all, I want to say that age difference is not a Red Flag issue (My Moroccan husband and I (US Citizen) are 18 years apart and I being the older one) but for you asking for standard answers on how to answer questions for the interview will be a Red Flag.
I remembered when I started the process and I called the Customer Service number to ask for clarification on what to submit with the petition. The person didn't tell me exactly what I can submit. She told me to submit what "I FELT THAT WILL BEST SHOW PROOF OF OUR ONGOING RELATIONSHIP".
And for you to ask for "boiler plate answers" (other people's answers) here on VJ already shows me personally that you may not know your fiance well enough to know why you want to marry her instead of marrying an Egyptian girl your age. ONLY YOU WILL KNOW THE ANSWER WHY YOU WANT TO MARRY YOUR FIANCE.
So my sincere answer for you is that you communicate with your fiance and you both should come up with the answers that fit both of your relationship. Ultimately, it doesn't matter what other couples' answers are but your relationship answers.
I hope this comment makes sense. There is NO ONE CORRECT ANSWER. The Consulate are pretty good to figure out if one's relationship is forthcoming. I think the best thing is to read the consulate interview reviews and start from there. But good luck and best wishes. Keep us posted.

It sounds as if you were in like with your wife when you married her, instead of being in love. A marriage based on such a foundation isn't likely to last, as you are finding out.
You can either string it out for a few years and perhaps compound the problems by adding children into the mix, or instead pull the plug now and make a clean break for both of you.

Good thing for future family portraits.
But has squat to do with proving you both have a bona fide relationship in a C.O.'s mind.
To answer your question.....Nothing wrong with you getting tickled over "looking" like you could have fathered her kids but It will not weigh in on why you posted on VJ.
As Boiler suggested...keep reading in MENA of how we all handled the red flags.
Also if you have not already done so.... have your SO come on VJ and read past journeys with you. It can be done.

Since his AoS is still pending, you have a brief window in order to withdraw your affidavit of support (the I-864). Without this, his application cannot be approved (unless he files under VAWA).
You should write a formal letter officially stating you are withdrawing your I-864 prior to the adjudication of his I-485. Give all of his information in the letter, including his name, address (on his applications), DOB, alien number, and the application number of his I-485 if you know it. Mail one copy of this letter to whichever USCIS is processing his I-485 (if AoS from a K-1 then most likely the NBC), and then take another copy, make an Infopass appointment at your nearest local office and hand deliver one to the IO there as well. This double-pronged approach should ensure that at least one copy makes it to where it needs to go.
Once the I-864 is withdraw prior to the adjudication of his I-485 then it will be formally denied a short time later. He will then need to depart the US, and cannot adjust status based on marriage to anyone other than you in the future, again unless he is able to successfully file through VAWA (and he would seem to have no basis for doing so based on what you have said).

Most people I know who got married in Morocco, including me, just used a state police record and did not bother with the FBI record. It's an "either/or" requirement, not both. An online printout or something that looks similarly unofficial won't cut it, though.
That link for translators didn't work fit me, but I've never heard of any requirement to use a specific consulate-approved translator for the immigration documents. We didn't.

Oh Goodie. Just what he needed to hear.
I would definately suggest OP AND his WIFE to come on to VJ and read about what really goes on at CASA.
    This is your portal
    http://www.visajourney.com/portals/index.php?auto=1
    Also MENA
    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/97-middle-east-and-north-africa/
Knowing people(s) in person that have been approved after one visit and married will have no bearing on your outcome. Presenting solid evidence and showing you married in good faith will.
Also keep in mind there might be other RED FLAGS in your case....Is your wife much older? Already married and divorced? Previous children? How u met and fell in love?...etc. Also how do you communicate? Your writing in English is not that great yet, Does she speak Arabic? What do you have in common? Just loving each other a lot after "knowing each other over a year" does not show enough evidence to prove a bona fide relationship...
Again if you truely are worried about getting approved, have your wife come on VJ and read a lot about what is ahead for you both.
    Good Luck

If you continue to read in MENA forum of the past approvals and denials it can give you great info on what goes on in CASA.
As advised, keep accumilating evidence of your daily contacts...You can also have your family members that did meet her on her two visits write letters about her trip and meeting her. What you all did together i.e. dinners, visiting places in morocco etc....and maybe how they found her. My father in law wrote a kind letter about me in French and had it translated.
No one on here can give you the outcome of your future interview....only guesses But the mention of the cancelling your k1 and getting married is really dispensible info at this point of your journey.
Your fiancee should also be on here reading too.
Good you have letters from her and the Nana.
    Good Luck

    Asalaam alaikum,
So first things first - I will caution you to relationships started over the internet. This may be hard for you to hear since you are in the first blush of the relationship. The embassy and consulate are going to be closely looking at your relationship because Algeria is a HIGH visa fraud country as is Morocco - where my husband and I met and currently live.
The man you are currently interested in should do all the work if he is so interested in getting married to you. He should be asking local court officials what paperwork you would need etc They should give him a list and an idea of how much he will have to pay the local judge for the marriage contract.
I would personal suggest drawing up your conditions for marriage with a lawyer in the US and then get a lawyer in Algeria to legalize and submit everything with your marriage contract to the court you get married through - so items such as custody of future children, a clause about parental abduction is included and your freedom of movement in and outside the country is covered (all just in case better safe than sorry parts of the conditions) I wouldnt suggest it unless I personally had a friend who went through such a thing with an ex husband who is Algerian.
I can tell you what paperwork I needed to get married in Morocco - and you will need to get these documents translated into Arabic for the courts and judges.
    Birth Certificate
    Passport
    FBI Background Check
    State Background Check
Paperwork from the US Consulate in Casablanca - you in Algiers - stating you are free to marry
Medical Report - stating I am AIDS/HIV Free
Some judges will also want a pregnancy test done.
Legal background check done by the Ministry of Justice in Rabat, Morocco
*Note if any paperwork doesn't have an official seal - it should come with a paper stating why its not embossed with the seal
You need to seriously consider making several trips to Algeria before marriage to make sure this person's intentions are pure and get to know his family, friends, neighbors etc. Especially if your planning on doing a IR/CR1 visa for your future husband in order to establish this is a REAL relationship and have enough history that it does NOT look like a visa fraud case.
InshaAllah everything will work out. Pray Isthkhara before every action moving forward with this man.
    Wa Alaikum Salaam
    Ally & Omar

If your husband allows you to die while trying to use your illness as leverage for his visa the blame falls on your family not immigration. Your family should be caring over your sickness and getting you to the US instead of abusing you to get them to the US.

With all due respect, to assign responsibility for this conflict and its casualties entirely to Hamas is a tad disingenuous.
You guys are occupying Arab land. That would be the original sin here. Not Hamas asking people to ignore evac orders.
