  1. My husband and I just got back to our hotel in Barbados after hearing the man behind the glass casually tell us that my husband's green card had been approved! Like it was nothing! We are so excited, already going online looking for flights to the US. I'll write a review of Barbados consulate soon and out intended POE is San Juan, Pr. we will review that as well.

After all these months and forms and calls and waits....it's just done. Amazing!

Thanks to all on VJ who helped! I read more than I contributed but I don't think we could have done it without all of you! Thank you!!!

  2. We used the value of our home as an asset and investments. We showed the value through a recent appraisal and that it was not mortgaged as well as investment statements for the last 6 months showing that the account has history. I think if you want to show cash in the bank as an asset then you would need to show history of it being there so perhaps several months of statements showing a steady balance would suffice.

I'm sure that others will have more input.

    Good luck!

  3. Here is the cover letter I sent with our package. I found it on VJ and tweaked it a bit. Maybe it can help you. I understand that the originals will be returned at the interview.

  4. The end is in sight! I'm so excited that we've made it this far! Couldn't have done it without VJ! We're still surprised by the speed that we are getting through NVC. AOS package was delivered today and the IV bill was paid today. The IV package is ready to go once it shows paid- hopefully tomorrow. I'm hoping we can make the cut-off for interview scheduling this month. Have we missed it yet??

  5. Hi all,

I have a question: one of the requirements for the IV package according to LingChe says: "police certificate is required for any place in their country of citizenship; the beneficiary has lived longer than six (6) months, after the age of 16."

I have my police certificate from Germany but there is only one certificate, there are no certificates for specific cities/ places. Since I lived in several cities in Germany since I was 16 I am worried that they want to see more certificates.

    Any experiences with that?

  6. Hi all,

We are filling out the DS-230 right now. Under question 35 I have to list dates of all my previous visits to the United States.

    1. I only have my current passport, the older ones I don't ave anymore, so I can only estimate when I went and from when to when.

    2. Does this include all transits?

    3. What is this used for?

Please let me know if anyone has previous experience with this.

    Thank you!
