The reason for having a copy of the original petition is for the beneficiary to reference. The questions asked by the officer will be based on what's in that petition. Good luck on the interview.

Beneficiary becomes resident after filing adjustment of status. The amount of time it takes can be anywhere from 4 months to a year after getting married on a k1 visa. As far as losing your residency from your home country, I dont think you lose it. As soon as you register your marriage with the courthouse and you obtain a certified copy, you can file AOS. I was able to insure my husband the day we got married. You can get a social security number right away. We waited the 2 weeks recommended by this site and it came in 35 days. Driver's license, my husband applied as soon as he got his social security card. I hope this helps.

Ok, the USCIS wants joint accounts to prove you are a couple. I guess a marriage certificate signed by a judge isn't enough for them? Sooo, I go to get a joint checking account and am told that since she is not a US citizen and doesn't have a government issued ID she can't be on the account! Something about the patriot act. She has a SSN but of course it's in her maiden name because they also wouldn't take the marriage certificate unless the USCIS changed her name. They did change her last name at her biometrics appointment so I suppose I could go back to SS and get her name changed but she still doesn't have her EAD yet. We have our interview here in about two weeks, so how do I get the checking account? Could be the guy we talked to doesn't know what he's doing?

If you make enough income, you don't need to list assets.

My lawyer advised a 3 page double spaced letter and notarized. That is what we sent. Mu husband interviewed in Dakar for the k1. Good lluck to you.
-
The letter should state you are a full time employee making xxxx per year

You have to fill out one and so does your mother if she will be the cosponsor.
-
The name doesnt matter, the important part is that you are free to marry.
-
If they kept your passport then you are approved. The visa gets attached to the passport. Congrats

I have 2 jobs, but I only included income from one. As long as you make th eincome, which is no where near $30,000 for 2 people you are ok.

Congratulations!!!!!

It states unless you have already submitted one. I would take a copy with me to the interview just in case. Good luck!

You count the amount of people that live in your household. You make enough income. Go to the uscis website and look up I864 requirement because you will need that for adjustment of status after you are married.

You need a police report from any country you spent more than 6 months since the age of 16, Dont wait for the embassy to send you a letter.

We are in the process of scheduling the interview with the Consulate for our K-1 Visa. Looking for some clarification please, I'm a little confused. On the guides it says to include the original of every document that was submitted with the I-129F. Fairly simple, however does that also mean for his interview I need to send my fiance my original birth certificate, divorce decree from a previous marriage, and also the actual boarding passes from when I went to visit, or will the copies that are in the original file with the I-129F be enough? Thanks!
Do not send your original birth certificate. The forms your fiance will fill out and turn in need to have original sigantures, not copies. Make sure he tells them that he needs his birth certificate back if he submits it. They will have the exact fiel that you submitted right there to ask questions from it. Good luck!

I have a friend that they told the same thing and it was about 2 weeks later that NVC sent a letter that they had received their case. Chin Up!

Yes as long as it is filed before time runs out. Better hurry. Good luck

You will need a co sponsor ,but you will have to fill out the I134 as well as your cosponsor

I cant explain it in detail, but if you met online that doesnt apply to you. Its when you hire an agency to hook you up with a person for the purpose of marriage.

Okay So I have spend most of the weekend working on papers... The only thing I am waiting on now is the Fiancee to finish up her bit of the papers... I needed her to put in her address as I do not understand how they do their addressing down there as well as her work and parental history. Trying to make sure I do not get a delay or request for more information...
This is what I got so far
Payment
I-129 F Cover Letter
i-129 F Application
G-325A Fiancee version in progress
G 325A My copy
2 Passport pics of me for the G 325A
2 Passport pics of her will be done tommorrow with her passport
I-134 form
Last 2 years of tax forms from H&R block
DS 230 is in the works with her
FC-029
Log of phone times I have called her.. Usually 3 times a day with Vonnage
Pictures of me and her together
Copy of Plane tickets to Colombia along with Passport Stamps to show I was there
Copy of my Passport and Copy of Birth Certificate - Proof of citizenship
2 Letters of intent hers and Mine
My Divorce Certificate to show I am eliglble to marry
I had to write a letter for a Criminal waiver and prior k1 visa from 1999...
With that Letter I have included a letter from my Councelor showing I took the classes seriously
Letter from my ex wife that used the fiance Visa saying that there was no abuse or crazy stuff going on.
Copy of police report for my criminal waiver...
The only question I have at this time is... I had an issue with a girlfriend that ended up with the poilce... We broke up and I was leaving her alone I had spent the better part of 2 years raising her daughter... When we broke up I left her alone... On Halloween like a week later she sent me pics of her daughter saying she missed me and wanted to be a family again... Told her thanks for the pics and this is something not to be talked about over text messages... I called her 2 days later and she pulled another 180 on me... At that point we got into a 3 day text war... I did not know talking trash but not threatening to do harm was illegal... So when it was all done because she baited me into it and the officer saw what was going on.. They said if I went through thier DV program they would dismiss the charges if had no further run ins with the Law... Case was dismissed at this point. It was three years ago... My prior fiance visa was 1999 so I am no longer under obigation under the laws of the affidavit of support. Are they going to Deny my petition due to my history... I know I make enough to qualify so really I see no other reasons to worry for this case.
You just have to let your fiancee know the whole story about you and your ex because the officer will bring it up at her interview
