The petitioner needs the copies of the boarding passes, photos of the two of you ( maybe 4 or 5), the printout of the hotel stay is good, and the skype history. You dont need letters from friends, only the letter of intent from both of you.

My lawyer doesn't live in the same town, which consists of about 8,000 people. It just happens that I knew the clerk at the courthouse and he told me I wasn't supposed to get that paperwork from there because of the file date. The lawyer would have had to get it from the capitol, which woul have ehded up costing me an additional 200 or more for him to do the same thing I did.

For mine, it was for court disposition and police record from a 99 charge. I didn't miss anything, I was told the case was too old to find records. So I attached a letter. They were not satisfied with that. So I went to the police station and got a certified letter from the clerk stating no records available. Then I got the court disposition which is "technically destroyed" from the magistrate. It is stamped as such on the top.

Tthis process definitely teaches you patience. Good luck.

Well check out my timeline. And if it IS possible to get the record you will have to get it. The police station here only keeps records for 5 yr. So the lady wrote me a letter addressed to USCIS abd stamped it. When you have any of those convictions listed on the I129f I guess they put you in further background checks. Good luck.

Today we complete 8 months since reviving the NOA1 and we have not get the NOA2, for me this is just ridiculous because I see a lot of People that were after me and already have their interviews( which I am glad for them),but how longer do I gonna have to wait.

if somebody have the same problem and knows what to do please give me an advice.

Hello, we have almost the same dates. I have already called numerous times and put in a service request as well as contacted 2 congressman. I got a letter from one congressional aide stating that I am in "background checks". I can't understand how I have been fingerprinted more times than I can count in the past few years for employment and VSC is taking this long. I am praying for all of us that are stuck in the black hole.

All we can do is wait I guess.

When you get to 5 months and no response, then you start to worry. I'm on FRANTIC right now. I'm stuck in background checks. Its all about patience

You need to read that question about being convicted. If your situation applies, then you will need a certified copy of the police record and the court record with the disposition. I had a domestic from 99 and got an rfe even though I attached a letter admitting fault and that I could not get the records because it was too long ago. I ended up getting a letter from the police clerk and my file from the court which was marked destroyed.

VSC really does not care about the 60 days if you look at my timeline. I really don't understand why they even bother giving people time frames. You will probably miss the birthday if you wait on them. I planned to get married on valentine's day. So now I will be planning to leave the country next month to see my fiance because its been a yr since I have seen him. Good luck to you

Wow that is a long wait! But if someone gets an RFE does that mean that the 5 month goal no longer counts? Shouldn't they take care of anyone that is past the 5 months first before they approve newer applications?

It depends on when u get the rfe and what its for because I have seen people get one a wk after noa1, send it back and within 2 wks they have an rfe.

You should be betting your noa1 in the mail in a few days. You aredoing a k1 for Jamaica,most of the members I have seen have not waited very long. Good luck with whatever you decide

Anything that required a signature, I made two originals. I sent originals just to be safe. Like the statement on how we met, letter of intent, I got 2 notarized and sent them one.

Hi to all! I need you to help me with my current case status. It has been a very tiring, long, difficult, stressed eight long months of waiting! I got an RFE Nov 2011 and sent documentations Dec 2011. They said we have to wait for 60 days from receipt of said RFE documents.

I tried to call (beneficiary) but they won't give any information because they want my fiance (petitioner) to do the calling. Here is the problem, my fiance cannot talk at the moment. He underwent removal of his vocal cords last November 2011. He is now on the process of learning to talk with a gadget. It has been difficult for him. His lone surviving aunt sent a letter of inquiry for and in behalf last week. No response. Every time I browse on our case status it has always been the same from the date of receipt.

Can anyone please shed light on how to go about this? We really need your precious input on this matter. PLEASE HELP.

You are not alone dear. I have been waiting too. If you havnt heard anything, you are probably like us and you are stuck in background checks. There is no telling how long. I have been calling once a week. And that website isn't always accurate. As far as mine goes, the lady at customer service said after they received my rfe, my case went straight to background checks, so the date on the website is correct. I wish you luck.

You would think they would have some pity on people that have been waiting over 6 months. I'm not giving up, but I sure am tired!

I was wondering...When I filled out the petition, I only put the job I have been on the longest. I have 2 jobs and have for almost 2 years. Would this cause a problem with my background checks? The second job was a caregiver for an elderly lady that passed away in Nov. I had to be fingerprinted. In August 2011, I got hired for a nursing home, and got fingerprinted for that job as well. They said they could not read my fingerprints so they were done 4 times!!!! I am just wondering if this had any effect on them finishing my background checks. I am grasping at straws at this point. Or is it that I'm just stuck in the "black Hole"?
