  1. Hello all,

Yeah, I am starting to wonder if our approved K-1 petition is now stalled at the NVC for "additional processing." It was delivered to the NVC at 2 April 2012. When I called today to inquire if it had been sent to GUZ, I was told that there may be some additional processing with our petition. I am going to call again tomorrow, and politely inquire about the shipping status of the file.... I am a little suspicious, the NVC lady sounded a little evasive.... I hope that I am reading too much into this....

I have my fingers crossed.....

From some,of the posts I have read, it has been said that you have to ask them if you are in AP in order to get the answer. They won't just come right out and tell you. But the 2 people I spoke with told me I was.

  2. .

    1. Not every U.S. citizen is richie rich.

    2. Only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches. I am nobody to judge but guessing by your remark " oh its only been two months", I would think you are wearing the comfy hush puppies. Not everyone will feel about a certain situation like you do :)

    3. As much as I would love to elaborate where your taxes are being used, I will keep it to myself in order to maintain the peace and serenity of this forum.

  3. That's why calling USCIS gives us a much more confusion. It has been more than a month already since our RFE was received, I'll try with the Senator thing. But I'll try to wait first after a week, and if it doesn't get into moving, then that's the time i take this matter to a senator/congressman. Thanks for all the advice guys.

Technically they have 60 days to respond to your RFE. So if you got it in March, they have until May. I hat eto be the bearer of bad news, but that is exactly what happened to me. Look at my journey so far. I wish you luck.

  4. OMG!!! I just got a RFE...How bad is this? Does this make it harder to be approved? I dont know how to feel about it. On the one hand Im glad to have heard something, but clearly this was not ideal. Has this happen to anyone else? I don't want to panic.

Go through your petition. Maybe you will see it before you get the hardcopy. If nothing else, it makes for some good reading. Good luck.

  5. 3rd week of March I called USCIS and told me to wait for our "Service Request" before April 7. April 5, we received their mail stating that we have to wait at least 60 days for their reply to our RFE. Earlier I called them, and told us to wait 90 days! since we had our service request last mar.30. I don't get it. The moment we call USCIS.. they consider it a service request and move our case longer?... this is driving me insane. It's taking too long.

I was told that you can put in a service request every 30 days

  6. That is personal information. I am 47 and my fiance is 35. Yes, we plan to have a baby, but there are no guarantees just like there are no guarantees for younger couples. Dont bring it up that she has her tubes tied. It is none of their business. All they need to know is proof that you have a relationship.

  7. Ok, does anyone know if it will work in Russia for Sveta to call me (and her family to call her after the move)? And what if there is no landline phone, but a high speed Internet card on a laptop pc, will it work??? Thanks in advance!!!!!!

You dont need a landline. If you have high speed that is great. It works better that way

  8. Hi all,

I got my NOA on the 6th of Feb and still no word or "touch" on my file. just the "initial review". I am a soon to be lawyer so I made sure I was extra thorough in the application for my honey, yet, its still taking a while.

    The anxiety is killing me.

    I need a hug.

Relax and read a book or two. Hopefully yours won't take as long as ours.

  9. It's amazing how Myspace has become outdated and the new Myspace is Facebook.

Yes, I know. Neither my fiance nor I have a myspace account anymore

I picked "traveling abroad for pleasure" but "through friends" would have been more accurate if it had been there.

I went to visit a friend whom I had met 2 years earlier when she had been in a program I coordinate at work. The day I arrived in her country, she was away, so I had a long conversation about American healthcare reform with her cousin (it must have been absolutely scintillating). We kept talking constantly for the rest of my visit, and a few days before I left I told him how I felt (because I knew he would never make a move himself, out of respect since I was his cousin's friend) and it turned out (luckily) that he had feelings for me, too. We agreed to keep in touch and see where things went. One year, two visits, and many emails & hours on the phone later, we got engaged and decided to try for a K-1, and the rest will someday be history!

Just wanted to say you guys look cute together!

  10. I think I read one of the posts from someone from Ghana that went to the interview. You might want to look at your country specific forum for guidance. I myself , am planning to be at my fiance's interview because for 1, he is Nigerian, and 2 he is in Senegal. I dont know if you know it or not, but Nigeria and Ghana are considered "fraud" countries. Good luck to you.
