I know how frustrating this can be. My mom was denied a tourist visa twice to come to my wedding. But she was recently approved and giving a 5yrs multiple entry visa. She told me when she went for the interview, they didnt look at a single evidence, it was completely based on the forms and her answers to the questions. Just let her try again in a couple of years. The more often she tries, the more desperate she will looks and so they might denie her application.

My mom got a tourist visa to come and visit me in the US after getting denied twice to come to my wedding back in 2012. She said the CO never looked at any of her supporting documents but asked a lot of questions about me, my work, number of kids I have, my wife's work, when and how I came to the US and if I had file an immigrant visa for her. She said any time she wanted to present any evidence, the CO say its okay and that she believes her. She picked up her passport on Tuesday and she has been given a 5 years multiple entry visa!

I lost complete hope that she was going to get the visa mainly because it's Ghana and also because she has been denied twice before. Also as a parent of US Citizen there is an automatic presumption of immigrant intent when applying for a tourist visa. I am glad she got it.

I think they can view her recent I 94 here - https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/recent-search . That way they can see if she really overstayed or not. As long as she left before the date on the I 94, she is good.

At the Los Angeles office they had a whole section of the room devoted to child care/toys etc.

I was able to bring both my wife and our baby into the interview room. They sat next to me and watched while I got interviewed. I guess it depends on local office. I think they will totally understand if you dont have anyone to hold your baby while you get interviewed. Give it a try.

It is a very difficult embassy to go through. As someone who went through that embassy, my advise will be, to be honest, have lots of evidence ( try not to use too much of Facebook evidence), visit your fiancee in Ghana to get those visa stamps as evidence and most of all be really patience. Its a slow embassy and they have alot of scrutiny due to Ghana being a high visa fraud country. Good luck!

Tourist visa for family members is a stressful ordeal. My mom was denied a tourist visa to come to my wedding in the US. She tried twice and they said nop! I will suggest waiting for like a couple of months or maybe even a year and let them try again. It sounds like your parents are being truthful so that's a plus at least. Maybe become an American and that might increase their chances of getting a tourist visa. MAYBE..JUST MAYBE, the CO will believe that your parents just want to come and visit and then return back to their home country because if you really want them to come and stay in the US for a real long period of time or forever you will apply for a green card for them. I am guessing here.

I am sorry to hear that he was denied! When people with genuine and good reason to visit a love one are denied, I blame the fact that most Ghanaian who go for an interview lie and so the COs at the embassy are always skeptical about whatever we tell them. I hope our economy gets better and most of all get a good reputation. We need to improve our image. Innocent people are suffering because of our lies!!!

Getting a tourist visa in Ghana is really difficult. The approval rate is really low. According to the "Adjusted Refusal Rate - B-Visa only by nationality, for the year 2016", the approval rate for Ghana is like 30%. The embassy/COs doesn't really believe most of the applicant due to the numerous lies and fake documents old applicants have told and brought to them. I went through the system and I can tell its a pain. All the same I will say he go and try and be as honest as possible. The numbers are not in his favor but hopefully the CO recognizes him and gives him the visa.

My husband passed his citizenship test this morning. His letter said to be at Federal Plaza in NYC at 8:35 AM. At 9:20 AM he texted to say he hadn't been called in yet but at 9:45 AM, he called to say he had passed. He said that the interview lasted less than 10 minutes, and that he was asked to write down the sentence "Who lives in the White House?" and then was asked six questions, which he answered correctly:

1. Who vetoes bills?

2. What is the supreme law of the land?

3. What is the capital of New York?

4. Who did the US fight in World War II

and then two others that he couldn't remember. She asked him about his military background in Cuba and that was it. She didn't ask for any further documentation and told him that within 4 to 6 weeks, he should receive the letter with his oath ceremony date.

What a relief to be almost done! I feel very grateful to this community and for all its help with each step of the process- K1, AOS, removing conditions, citizenship, etc. -- we definitely could not have done it without this site!

Just curious, when your interview notice came through in mail, were you also able access a soft copy of it in your USCIS account online?

Thanks!! The last traffic ticket I got was in 2009. I dont think they even ask about such things. They are usually interested in tax payment and crimes that have lead to you being arrested. That the feeling I got. I hope that helps

"I'm A United States Citizen"!

I had my interview today and passed. Everything went really well. I got there about 30mins earlier. We went through a quick security line and I was directed to go the second floor. I got checked in and after about 1hr and 10mins I was called in. I think I was the last person to be interviewed. I went in with my wife but it looks like they usually dont allow people to go in with others except if the person is your lawyer or interpreter. After chit chatting with my interviewer for about 5mins we started the test. She first made me read - "Where is the White House" and then she asked me to write out - "The White House is in Washington". Which I did. And then we moved on to the civic and history test of which I got the first 6 questions right and so I passed that part too. We then went through my application. she asked about when we got married, our travels etc.

After that she said she is going to recommend my application for approval and then asked me if I am interested in attending an oath ceremony which was happening in about 45mins. I said yep!!! she walked us back to the waiting room and after 45mins later I attended the ceremony and i was giving the naturalization certificate. Overall everything went great and everyone was really nice.

I had to reschedule my first interview.So my original time line was in line July 7. Got a text about scheduling an interview On July 15 and interview date was Aug 19.
