The OP posted in the CR1/IR1 forum, not the K1 forum. So the answers they have received are correct. The K1 process is different... all together..... honestly you seem to be getting upset, when in fact you are looking in the wrong forum.....

I owe the IRS $4000 at the time of filing my CR 1 visa for my husband. I was on a payment plan and never came up during processing the paperwork or during his interview. Have your fiance contact the IRS to set up a payment plan immediately and you should be fine

So sorry for your terrible experience. FYI, my husband was affectionate there, not in public, which is okay with me, I too grew up in a culture which did not allow public display of affection. But hubby was and still is very affectionate.
I agree with the members who indicate that Nigerians in general are loving and show affection. If your husband was loving toward you when you visited him in Nigeria and changed once here? that means he had alternative motives in mind before getting here. If he did not want to be intimate with you? it could mean that he did not feel for you as you expect him.
What I want to know is, did you see any signs or had any feeling that he was taking you for a ride? I mean as women, we tend to have a strong intuition which sometimes we choose to over look or ignore.
My husband has been here for six months and has not changed a bit since I met him five years ago. All I am saying YOU and only you know what took place in your relationship course and if the turn of events were expected or a complete surprise. Nevertheless, I am sorry for the pain you are feeling and I hope with time you will be able to put this experience behind you and find love.

My husband here in CT, still had to do the written test, get his learners permit, even with a valid Nigerian license
....then he has to wait 90 days before taking his road test.....so again each state had different rules

It is unbelievable and unconceivable what and how this VJ could be. Why there is a need for a couple to be on and off AP for years?? what the hell can they be looking for and not being able to verify in that much time?
There should be a time limit for AP and either the petition should be denied or approved within that period. Be it a year or less is a reasonable time. How do they ever expect a couple to endure that kind of torture?
My prayers are with those who are in AP for outrageously senseless period of time. God be with you.

Wow, it only took until post #10 before someone gave an answer to the actual immigration question without adding their own personal opinion of how relationships should work.

    The quickest way would be:
    1) commit suicide.
    2) ask her creator for a quick rebirth, but not as an American
    3) find a way to emigrate to the United States
    4) once eligible, file for naturalization.

Highyella72 got a reaction from Inky in Certificate of Naturalization - is it okay to laminate?
NO....It is not O.K. to laminate your Certificate of Citizenship..... They tell you this at your Oath Ceremony, It will become null and void, and you will have to apply for a duplicate which will end up costing you money.....I would suggest, putting it in a picture frame with a glass casing for protection, or a clear notebook sleeve......that is used to protect documents..... Congrats and good luck!!!!

Well....only problem with that ....is it would only be convenient for those people that don't have to work hard for a living or don't have family to support...then it would be ok to spend that much time away from home..... But reality is, most people are just hard working americans with responsibilities other than themselves....
