  1. Brian, thank you for making the distinction between meeting income requirements and providing proof of complying with Federal Tax Laws.

A big thank you to everyone in our VJ Community who posted in this thread! Mailing this VJ thread link to my Accountant last night nudged him into action:

  2. The problem is zero response from my accountant over the past two months. I'm in Russia for the month, and the Interview date is nearing.

Just fired off another email to him--this time with a copy of this VJ thread. Thanks, everyone!

Lol, we've managed to bump this thread up to #1 on the VJ "HOT" list. :dancing:

Perhaps it's time to start a betting pool about the outcome of my fiance's pending interview sans 2010 Tax Return. :pop:

  3. I can't imagine why you feel that because you are owed a refund is a good reason to wait to file your return. I would want that money ASAP. Plus you are giving the Govt an interest free loan. If your refund is large, your accountant should adjust your withholding or estimated payments so that you don't have such a large overpayment in the future.

Definitely time for a new accountant if he does not reply to your emails!

"I don't have anything do do with when or how my tax returns have ben filed for the past decade. Each year in February I simply give my tax information to my accountant, who prepares my taxes (usually at the last minute!)"

I appreciate suggestions that I get a new accoutant, claim my refund quickly, should have done something differently, change my hair color, etc.--but my fiance and I hope to get a more definitive answer about my 2010 Tax Return before she goes to her Interview. :) Thanks again to everyone in the VJ Community! :pop:

  4. I don't have anything do do with when or how my tax returns have ben filed for the past decade. Each year in February I simply give my tax information to my accountant, who prepares my taxes (usually at the last minute!) My income from Rental Property and work this year is near $65k, and I have copies of signed leases, bank deposits made by tenants, three previous years of tax transcripts, a copy of my Credit Report (760s), bank statement, employer statement, and a Co-sponsor--but my questions here is:

Will a lack of a 2010 tax form absolutely disqualify me, and if so will they accept am emailed copy of my 2010 taxes whenever I get ahold of them, or will a second full-blown interview be necessary?

  5. Every year I send all my tax documents to my acountant in February. He usually waits until the last minute to file. I have a complicated financial situation and feel fortunate to have been working with him for the past decade.

This year I can only guess about the reasons why he hasn't filed/replied to my emails for he past several months. My best guess is that since I am due a refund this year that he's still sitting on it.

It's an unfortunate coincidence that this is the frist year that I don't have a copy of my current tax return by October, and this year I might really need it. :)

  6. Since I'm getting a Federal Tax Refund this year my accountant either waited until the October extension deadline to file it, or if it's legal for him to file it past that date because I'm due a refund then he is probably still sitting on it!

I'm in Russia now and can't do anything about it now other than email him and hope that he emails a copy to me soon. I ordered the (free!) Federal Tax Transcripts for 2007, 2008 and 2009--2010 was not available when I ordered them last month.

I wish I knew if not having a 2010 Federal Tax Transcript at the Interview is absolutely disqualifying--or of having a Co-sponsor will negate this problem.

And if it is a problem what then? Would the Moscow Consulate be satisfied with receiving an emailed tax transcript later, or would they require another full-blown in-person Interview?

Thanks to everyone who has commmented. VISAJourney is a wonderful Community and without you guys this would be a lonely and more difficult process!

  7. One day later Ksenia recived an email reply from the Moscow Consulate, explaining that the online interview form was not working because she needs to include more information! Ksenia will explain the problem: Номер должен быть в формате ддммггномер, то есть дата, месяц,год и номер квитанции прописать непрерывно без пробела.

  8. No, not yet. Oksana called the Citibank in Moscow to which our local payment was sent, but they were no help. I understand that calling the USA Moscow Consulate will be no better (but costly!) than emailing them. So, we will email them again....

Here's the email I just sent:

My fiance' (copied on this email) made payment on 3 November at a local bank for K-1 VISA inteview for her and her daughter (see the attached photo of payment reciept). Subsequently, she has tried several times to register online to make a VISA interview date, however the following message constantly appears (and a similar message for her daughter, but with a different number):

Шаг 8: Пожалуйста введите регистрационный номер Вашего платежа.

Не найдены данные об оплаченном консульском сборе по введенному регистрационному номеру платежа. Пожалуйста, проверьте правильность ввода номера платежа, а также соответствие суммы платежа консульскому сбору для визовой категории, за которой вы обращаетесь. [571815]

Ksenia has sent several emails to this address and received emails that say only that "your Case is closed." In addition, Ksenia has returned to the local bank and secured a notice of confirmed payment from the bank manager.

Please contact Ksenia and I soon and let us know what other information you may need to resolve this problem.

    Sincerely,

    David

  9. Hello David and Ksenia,

I am sorry to hear you have problems. Did you use the correct number from the bank paper on your account on the site? Try to contact administrator of this site. People on forums say they solve any problems very fast. Maybe, there is a mistake with your account on the site.

    Lada.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, she used the correct number. It's a mystery why the bank payment and transfer did not register on the Moscow Consulate website. We will probably call them tomorow.

  10. Hi Everyone,

I'm still in Ekaterinburg with my beautiful fiancee, Ksenia. Way back on 3 November Ksenia paid the obligatory ~$350usd to the bank stipulated in the email from Moscow. The email stated that an interview date may be scheduled online three business days after making payment, however it's been ten days and she keeps getting a message that "payment has not been received."

We've checked at the bank, and the Director verified that it was sent on the 3rd, to the correct account in Moscow. We've emailed Moscow twice, but just get back a short email stating that "your Case has been closed." Has anyone had similar problems? thanks! David & Ksenia :)
