If his green card was taken away, he's not a citizen or LPR anymore.
One less gang member around is to the benefit of us all, anyway.

It's true though! My husband has no idea. He knows I got a fiance visa. Has no idea about any of the forms or acronyms and has no desire to learn. We're at N-400 now so soon he won't even need to hear about it
FWIW - I've been doing this since 2009 and I never refer to the I-864 or I-134 as the "AOS" because it has other implications (this could be because I'm a K1 whereas most who use that acronym are CR-1). It's just as easy to write the form number and there's less confusion

I don't think you need to go as far as hiring a lawyer quite yet. My husband's AOS is still pending at the CSC and it's been 1 year and 3 weeks since we applied for his AOS.
You can get in contact with your Senators and/or Representatives from your state to see if they can inquire on your behalf. Or you can set up an infopass appointment at your local USCIS office and see if they can get any info for you. I really think that a lawyer would not help you as it's still in initial review.

Wishing on a Star reacted to Laurka in It's not meant to be rude. Just a general observation.
I'm not starting this topic to offend anybody or to start a beef just for the beef sake. After several months of being on this very helpful forum (it's a life saver in many cases! ), I have this general observation that people do not even bother to read instructions and guides. It seems they don't even bother to use a search engine to look for answers to their questions, but just bluntly create a new topic to ask their question that has been asked 3 to 5 times the very same day. Sometimes there are several topics one under the other(s) about the same thing. It makes the forum bigger and bigger mess every day.
I know this process is long, exhausting and above all confusing at many points. It really is and also has been for me. I always try to help whenever I'm logged in and I'm able to help (when I know how), because this is the main purpose of the forum -- to help and support each other. But even earlier today I read posts in a topic from more experienced forum members that the question about Texas lockobx and Texas Sevice Center comes up way too often and perhaps should be pinned somewhere to be visible. When I browse through the K1 forum, I see more and more replies that are only like "Read the guides" or "Follow this link", because these are basic questions!
It's all there in the Guides, in the Downloads, on the Visa FAQs etc. My plead for new users especially is to first research and read, and then if your question/issue is still not answered or it's very specific to formulate a question on the forum.
I wish you all a good day and above all as smooth visa journey as possible!

It doesn't really end until like 3 years or more when the person becomes a US citizen.
After the K-1 is the AOS then the ROC then Citizenship. The whole thing is stressful. Just have to find ways to relax around it.

I really hate this type of condescending nonsense. If you think the USCIS's service is adequate because you happen to be friends with one of the numb skulls that runs a service center, then fine. Great for you. But to pretend like you better know how much preparation someone else has done or needs to do is just ridiculous.
Your friend is an integral part of a horribly managed system that causes a lot of unnecessary grief and confusion for the people who have no choice but to avail themselves of it. And a lot of those people are going to continue to demand better of that system, whether you or your friend like it or not. Just because he sat down and had drinks with you and told you "how it is" doesn't mean we have to accept the way he or others in the USCIS are mismanaging the system we depend upon.

Some folks just like making rude, and sarcastic comments to anothers comments.
Man, if You're that unhappy take it out in the gym, or do some jogging, or whatever!
If You're not part of the Family, then go somewhere else..............
Nobody here has the justification to be rude or insulting no matter what your opinion, or subject is.

It's trolling now to attempt to give people helpful advice on how to spend the time waiting? Why? Because he waited less than some people in this thread?
Nobody is denying the obvious problem. The OP is not the reason this process is so slow for some people. No need to treat him like the enemy when he was ATTEMPTING to be positive. Nobody is belittling any issue.
On this forum, we all have the same goals. Life gets in the way. Sometimes it isn't fair. But there's no need to attack someone because they got dealt a better hand than you did.
This isn't a competition of who has it the worst. It's SUPPOSED to be a supportive community.

Lesson learned from this thread, do not try to be positive. Because someone with a worse timeline than you will inevitably tell you that your waiting meant nothing, theirs was longer so theirs means more, and you don't know what you're talking about because YOU didn't wait as long as THEY did.
Let people be miserable if they want to be miserable.
Let them check USCIS five times a day if they want to.
Let them draft letters and petitions if that makes them feel better, though chances are, they won't go anywhere.
Let people do whatever they need to do to get through their waiting period.
We all know the waiting sucks, but here on VJ, it's turned into a competition. So let the miserable ones "win" the title of Most Rightfully Irritated With USCIS and move on with your life and YOUR relationship.
They don't want advice. They don't want positive words of encouragement. They want to do exactly what they're already doing.
It was nice of you to try, though.

We are in the same situation. It is very confusing because we did send our I-485 to the Chicago Lockbox and our notice receipt starts with MSC. But I believe the word "pending" leans me towards the latter. Do you agree?

That lawyer is telling you to commit visa fraud and saying you will be fine and it is OK to do it. It is not ok. You should not use this lawyer, she should be reported for this.
You can come visit in the USA and get married yes, but you have to go home after your visit is over and then file the I-130.
