Im married and my wife is in overseas, I filed my 2011 tax returns as single because the system requires me to put my wife SSN or ITTN if filling jointly or marriage filling seperately, My question is will this affect me and if so what will i do to correct the situation.

is it possible to call irs and see if they can do something about it?

The I-130 petition I submitted for my wife was approved on the 17th of February through expedite request. On the 6th of March, the case had left NVC heading to the Consulate.

It's possible that if this woman started having children from age 18, all of her children would be older than you. I am not sure about you but the age gap between you and this woman seems like an 'improper fraction'. Stick to what you believe though.

We got our petition approved 2/24/11. I called NVC and spoke with an operator and she said that they haven't received our petition yet and to follow up in 15 business days. Is this typical?

Mine was approved on 17th February. It took 2 business days to get to NVC. It took 7 business days to get Case Number assigned. It then took 2 two days for me to receive the AOS Fee.

Ok so, I got a reply to my email from the Lagos Consulate today. In spite of my whole clarification and appeal and explanation, they said the case is already closed as far as they are concerned, and that they are going to send back my petition to DHS/USCIS. They told me to direct all inquiries about the case to the DHS/USCIS. So cold!!! I called the DHS and explained the misunderstanding, and the DHS told me to wait for my petition to get to them first, so they can review and decide. My representative also said he sent them a note today to reconsider, but he has no guarantee that they'll listen. Told me it could take 2 to 3 weeks to hear anything. At this point, it's a waiting game. Anybody have any experience as to how long it took for their petition to be returned, reviewed and reapproved? It feels so helpless and frustrating to be so powerless!
